Ah, Naples. I grew up there decades ago. There were quaint, unpretentious beach hotels back then, like the Vanderbuilt Inn and the Beach Club. We had rich people, of course, but they didn't bother anyone. These were real rich folk, not the vulgar 401k climbers who infest the area now, with their German SUVs and entitled attitudes. Back then, a working family could afford to live in Naples Park, or Pine Ridge. People were mostly friendly. There were no invasive iguanas, either. Or Reggaeton blared on every beach. Hurricanes didn't flood the place three times per year, either. Yeah, I pity Naples now, not so much because I can't stand change, but because folks inhabiting the place now will never know what it was like. It was boring and old and tiresome, sure, but at least it wasn't the soulless high rise, Miami-lite, traffic choked theme park it's become. I sold out of SWFL recently... took a big pile of money someone saw fit to pay for my little house. I won't tell you where I moved, for hopes it doesn't turn into another Naples. Hint, It's somewhere iguanas can't survive. Thanks for the memories of what's left of the pier.
@ndj4389 Wow, my sentiments, I was living there then, thought I lived in paradise and no one was going to find out, boy, was I wrong. Thank God, I also sold my properties just in time, and now I live in Asia, across the street from the most beautiful rice fields in total peace. I got anxious just looking at so many buildings. I really enjoyed Old Naples/Bonita Beach for 40 years 😎
When i moved to Naples, a house in Naples park was $95,000. It was actually mediocre at best definitely boring. Across us41 were tomato fields. No furniture stores just pine trees and trails. 15 minutes to downtown from north naples. Always caught a red light by the red lobster, staring at the elephant brass statues. Parking? Never an issue. A few tourists from England, snowbirds from the midwest, a few and decent.. cadillac devilles with ontario plates driving 28mph down us41. A time gone, can’t turn back the clock.
That depends on YOU WALLET! 😅 if your net worth is over 1 million naples hands down. Safer, no homeless, all rich and fancy crap. If your net worth is under 1 million Bradenton fits you better. Both towns have great beaches. Bradenton puts you by Sarasota which is bigger city with nightlife and things to do like shopping. 1 hour you are in downtown tampa, 51 minutes to ybor city. For a young person who isn’t a millionaire Bradenton is a better fit.. but honestly if you have some class Sarasota is better or Lakewood ranch. Bradenton is the white mans hood and don’t get it twisted i love it here but your gonna see 1-3 homeless per every mile traveled in this city. Some parts of Bradenton you can’t even walk at night.. so.. sarasota is a better town for sure. Venice if your old and boring. Red tide had been brutal in Venice.
Weren’t there restaurants and shops way out on the Naples pier ? Haven’t been there since ‘03 looks like a bunch has changed . Always building more concrete mega boxes . Didn’t really like the area was just there working to finish a new lux apartment property before it got sold to investors . Was fun being out on the water in my little runabout though . 🌊🚤
I hope it has more character when it's done.
I rode my bike there yesterday. I never see you guys!! Maybe one day.

I lived in Naples for 20 years--80s and 90s. It was great back then. I hardly recognise it to-day. I movednto Puerto Rico---much better!

I gotta check out Naples another part of Florida I never been to
Naples is a cool city, very wealthy and somewhat snobby
Hi guys🎉Wow my stomping ground has really changed. Hurricanes can do a number.
José, se me olvidó decirte qué tienes un papá muy guapo 😅
Things do change! Hurricanes for the worse
Damn! Naples built 3 cities on one piece of swampland! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The GREED & DESPERATION is real 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. 🥴🥴🥴🥴
When its 37 in ocala, its 67 in naples… thats why Naples will ALWAYS be worth more
Naples and Marco Island have always been high end and exclusive. Why change now.
Is Naples or Bradenton better to live in?

florida is to crowded, best to stay away, traffic looks like a nightmare. not to mention the summers are scorchers. I prefer cooler climes.
okay, goodbye!!!
