    It's so funny that people think if you spend $30 grand on your face, you are selfish or vain. But then they wouldn't think twice about someone spending that much on a kitchen remodel for only cosmetic reasons. Don't feel bad about the amount of your investment. You are your best investment. 🙌

      Great analogy, but it’s still different. I’m a realist and spending 30 grand on your face is selfish and vain, but if you’re going to do it , just own it, like Rachel does here. It just is what it is and people do what they do.

    I'm 66. I've done A LOT!! Spent way more money than 30K. Best was face lift, neck lift, upper lower Bleph at 48. I started tret at 32. Just had a total dental restoration...best decision ever. Yes on eating healthy and doing fish oils, not only for cosmetics but most importantly for health. I want to look and feel great and think why not? But most importantly I am grateful for aging, because not everyone gets this privilege.

      I’m a bit older and absolutely couldn’t agree more. We don’t necessarily see the aging process or the effects of treatments unless we compare ourselves to old pictures or old friends. I’m often told that I haven’t changed much and even my own mother (who I visit across the country once a year) is floored and comments regularly on how young and good I look. That’s a win! I was going to say this. Free/cheap things make so much more of a difference than expensive treatments. Of course there's data of how much any treatment can do... But you can spend a million dollars and it'll all go to waste if you don't have a healthy lifestyle.
      I'm 40 and I notice my skin (among other stuff like joints) becomes so much worse if I don't workout or eat well.
      Most men let themselves go by the time they're 40, but taking care of my (vegan) diet, working out and basics like sunscreen, retinol, peptides - keeps people surprised when I tell them my age.

      Just so true. Trentinoin, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats, exercise, eat 9 servings fruit and vegetables a day, get your sleep and dump any stress you can. All my friends who followed this routine looked quite young until menopause. After that, things get a little tougher. But the cheap stuff still helps- a lot! I didn't see a wrinkle until 50.

    Over time, the distance between the bottom of the nose & the top of the upper lip elongates. Getting that shortened will help make you look younger. Also, autologous fat transfers can help many people. And most importantly youthful posture with an elongated neck to keep the cervical vertebrae from collapsing on their discs will ensure a well-functioning thyroid which will keep the skin taught.

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  9 місяців тому +1

    Love this video! I’m actually a laser tech and there’s a misconception that laser hair removal is permanent and it’s not. It is hair reduction. The results can vary on provider and laser machine but hair can regrow months or years later or never. This is mainly dependent on hormones, medications, & other treatments that can trigger regrowth. Maintenance is very normal but should hopefully be a lot more lower maintenance.

    I'm 54 and I began getting botox regularly at 34 or 35. I call it maintenance now. I also do conservative use of fillers and do as little of that as possible. At 40 I got a vertical brow lift and a lower eye blepheroplasty. It was supposed to last 10 years, but I think I still have benefits from it. I use tretinoin nightly and retinol. Now I do red light therapy most days, use hyaluronic acid, niacinomides, copper peptides, a 2 minute jawfit facial exercise practice to tighten my jaw and lift jaw muscles, use a gu sha daily for lymphatic draining system for my face, and i microneedle one at weeo or every other week. I am told I could pass for late 30s to early 40s. I do also get some filler put into my upper check that fills out my cheeks a bit. I have a thin face so I get hollows and this procedure usually lasts a year or slightly less than a year. I do put filler in my lip, but I have no lips normally, but I only use the slightest amount. I am cautious with filler though. I use it very sparingly.

    I had laser hair removal and a few things: you mentioned it's not for dark skin in the video. As someone with dark skin, I had a good experience BUT you have to go to a place that has a specific type of laser that has setting for pigmented skin. Make sure to ask about it before booking and have them do a test spot to see how you react. Also a good, honest specialist will tell you if you're a possible candidate depending on a number of factors. Secondly, I got laser nearly 10 years ago, the place I went to recommended doing maintenance visits 1-2 times a year. I didn't have the money for that, but so far most of the hair is still gone.

But you can delay the process by not getting too much stress. My wife uses Botox and other treatments occasionally and it works really well, it clearly irons out wrinkles without adding anything strange or even lightly unnatural looking to the face. To me the big NO is fillers, I would avoid them like the plague and just try to use all the greatest skin care (that includes possible chemical peeling and lasers etc) and some occasional botox maybe. But the moment you start with fillers it's setting sail to lizard-land...

I try to do it once per week and then you have an hour window to use your serums and tretinoin on the skin to get the the products into the microscopic lesions it creates and of course, microneedling creates promotes collagen production.

    My husband and I have separate finances as well. If he saw how much my skincare routine and procedures cost, he would be in shock, lol. My favorite procedure has always been BBL! You have to get it every few months or so, but for someone with under eye hollows, dark circles, and hyperpigmentation, its been such a game changer. Unfortunately I moved, and tried a new med spa, and was completely botched by Halo laser. Halo was the most excruciatingly painful experience of my life, and left my entire face with an orange peel texture. I haven’t found anyone else online talking about that sort of experience with Halo, but it completely wrecked my skin. During the procedure, it felt like a searing hot knife was being dragged through my skin, and the nurse didn’t believe me when I told her how much pain I was in. Before the procedure, I had numbing cream applied and left on for 40 mins, and it was like it didn’t even work. I’m still pretty traumatized by the whole experience. I’m in my early thirties and starting to see little signs of aging, and I’m trying not to panic. Thanks so much for sharing about all of your procedures, and inspiring me to keep going with my anti aging and skin health journey, despite my one terrible experience. You look so vibrant and radiant, and I would say it was 30k well spent.

    You are young - enjoy it. I've done some daxxify, sculptra (love it!), laser hair removal - legs, bikini - fantastic results, BBL - great treatment and want more, upper bleph - was medically necessary for extreme overhang and could probably have it done again. I am VERY interested in undereye PRF and/or fat grafting for hollows and dark circles. Tretinoin is also my friend, as are high quality skin care products. I'm 54, so most of this stuff wasn't around when I was younger, and I'm glad that is the case. I didn't "need" any of this in my 40s - hell, I still don't "need" it - I want it to keep looking good and aging as naturally as possible. I just stumbled on this video and I love your transparency. I've always been fascinated by face filler.
    I love plastic surgeon Dr Amir Karam's take on fillers, Lory Hill is very insightful & Victorian Cosmetic Institute talks openly about his filler mistakes as a practitioner. (all here on youtube)
    For instance getting fillers under your eyes for many people changes their eye shape.
    FIller increases volume always.
    So filler in the cheeks and chin makes your face bigger & streches the skin. And I read one women's regret of chin filler because it migrated and gave her a bad double chin.

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  10 місяців тому +2

      Fillers need to be injected by facial plastic surgeons. The reason you write that it "stretches skin & makes face bigger" is because you see the bad results. Far too many people are doing fillers by non qualified people. I've been doing fillers & botox for over 10 years. I have no such problems that you mention. I wish that they would last longer. I also recommend fraxel treatments. I had severe scarring on my forehead from going through a windshield in a catastrophic car accident. The fraxel helped tremendously. I did my whole face & I looked 5 years younger post fraxel. Recovery time is tough- up to 2 weeks & multiple sessions are necessary, I had 3 total.

    • @MariaLuckyxo
      @MariaLuckyxo 10 місяців тому

      All my filler knowledge comes from facial plastic surgeons. Dr Amir Karam here on youtube does an excellent job of explaining why he, as a facial plastic surgeon, doesn't like fillers.
      He has first hand knowledge of how fillers age, how the skin is affected and why they aren't in his opinion the greatest option.
      Filler never fully dissolves as MRI scans prove, so yes filler does in fact stack up over time.
      Though, I can see why you like it and believe in it.
      Some people felt Fraxel didn't work for them at all but I'll definitely look into it considering your amazing results.

Instead of buying their vit a Luminosity, use your Tretinoin if you have it to accelerate peeling. I used 30% Tca, 2 layers! Even tho that strength is only recommended for the body. I was/am super lucky with hair laser removal. I had it done in 2000 with an amazing provider who are still in business and I go there for all random stuff I do. First I did my under arm and the result were so great that I went back for my legs. I think I spent ~ $3k then. Best money ever spent. I still go without shaving for months! I had dark hair and my skin color is olive. So there was a chance of hyperpigmentation, but they were careful and only increased the intensity with second and third treatments.

    I need facial balancing so badly 😢
    I need to find an expert in California though.
    I haven't had any procedures, but I started Tretinoin in April and I can see a difference in my skin. Smaller pores, a slight glow, and more even skin tone. The main thing that has helped me the most is eating a carnivore diet. The protein and animal fat really makes an impact on skin and hair, among other things.

    I did a mini face lift. I look veeery natural. And if you think about it… it will be cheaper, less time consuming and less chance of going wrong as soon you get a good doctor. I was tired of trying things, most you don’t see results, feels lots of pain, some go wrong. The best decision I made was my mini face lift surgery.

    I love my nuface but it recommend getting the “pro” version as it’s much stronger. I do sculptra every 6 months with great results…my injector actually has recommended me to stop getting any filler (she thinks filler should be transitioned out as you approach 40s). I 21:58 also do current body on my face for 10 min daily (pre-nuface). I absolutely love Altreno (brand of tretinoin) I think this has had such an amazing impact on my skin. I also did rf micro needling (holy hell was that painful) and I really just wasn’t all that impressed for the cost, time, and pain. And of course Botox every 4 months!

    Also I'd like to add that masseter botox hasn't been a good decision. Yes it stops me from grinding my teeth and I don't have the headaches from clenching in my sleep. BUT the loss of muscle has created worse jowls. So I'm going to stop the masseter botox. Not worth having jowls. I'll figure something else out for my teeth. 😕

    I've had people remark to me when I've talked about stuff like this that I shouldn't want to look " younger" and explain them. It's not about that. It's similar to that concept from the Matrix of your residual self-image it's how you see yourself. You look in the mirror you know what you expect to see. Are some people who are trying to look as young as possible for the sake of that, but there are other people like myself who have this concept of a residual self-image you know what you expect to see when you look in the mirror and if it's different than that, you don't like that and you take action to Make sure it does.

Took your advice and started following her on social. I've done Fraxel Dual Laser a few times to face and neck and more recently, to arms. Loved results from the first 2 fraxels probably because there was more damage and more areas to target. Would be interested in Co2, but need to find the right doctor. Also considering deep plane, lip lift and rhyno revision with septoplasty.

You can do your own tox and fillers too, there are some that don’t have bdde in it the stuff that causes VO or is very lightly cross linked, fat dissolvers, cavitation machines. Much cheaper than in house. Diy tox is less than a dollar a unit.

    Maybe you should stop doing the chin. For your own sake. You are still very beautiful, but I could tell looking at you that your chin was done. Probably because I knew you had work done. It looks like your techician was trying to give you the look of someone with a square jaw. You do look good. Thirty four is so young. Everyone gets older looking over time, but it is not yet your time. Changing the structure of your face may make you look worse when you are older. You may be old longer than young. People that get lots of work done to keep their youth are only kidding themselves. I agree with laser treatments to get rid of wrinkles. Also, getting rid of a double chin, or fixing something that is not ordenary and bothers a person. Trying to actually fool people about age really doesn't work for very long, if at all. Accept your age and keep your skin looking as good as you can. Your fortunate you don't have any undesireable features. The darker hair really is mostly what makes you look better; because you have the coloring for dark hair. I would be worrked about later ending up with cancer from some treatment. Sorry, I don't think I looked any older than you do when I was thirty four and I didn't have any work done.

    Good video and info. Im glad I have done none of it so far and my skin is great still just a simple moisturizer daily and I have a few forehead lines now but I still look 15 years younger, I have good genetics, eat healthy, exercise, stayed away from boose, smoking, drugs and caffine, soda,. I enjoy the sun in summers with a lower sunblock your body needs VIt D. They scare you to not have any sun which is bad for your body. I dont think anyone needs any of it until mid 40's starting there. and for a face lift 55-60 yr, save your money. I think social media has brain washed the anti aging to the young for monetary reasons and the surgeons have taken advantage of clients for same reason. Also addictive personalities, insecurities, fall into it hard. A wrinkle or two is not going to make people love you less. Its whats inside, and your character that matters. And men hate fake and lots of makeup so who are you really trying to please. Yes we all like to look good but, without filters, face tape, duck lips, big butts, big lashes, big fake nails and more. Drawing attention to the absurd for the sake of a buck, negative attention on Tik Tok or Instagram. Many of these devices and products have not been tested for years and only tested on you , only to say years down the line now that they were tested and they didnt work right or caused damage, then they change their game for the next new untested thing. With all the money spent you have could helped the world improve instead lol
