*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*
Just a tip for using spinning gear for a jerkbait, always jerk the rod straight down. It makes the bait push more water and gives it a far better dart side to side rather than ripping the rod to the side. I used to rip it like that for a while on casting gear until I fished with Joslin Yeung. Way more effective doing it straight down. Also, shortest rod possible. I cut off almost 4” off my GLX 782C tip, making it pretty much a 6’2 rod. Avoid from slapping water. Great review! Cheers!
awesome review Averie! great to see the new toy getting into a few action haha i like the colouring on the new model. great catches on the sheepheads! ur dad has great editing skills too btw
I love my two Nasci reels. They where my high end 100$ reels back then when SLX first came out. A 200$ combo was twice the usual amount I spent. Over time I've upgraded to all Stradic, vanfords, dc, mgl 70s etc. On Zodias and expride. I love shimano products and will probably never use anyone except G Loomis since their American made even tho Shimano owns them. The new Nascis are far better built to the older version now but I'm looking at Shimano Complex xr reel or a new curado mgl 70.
@@Mr.Joe86 for 100$ the Nasci is one of the best reels at that price point but hands down the Vanford is better. It's super smooth and lightweight with plenty of drag. It definitely feels better then even the Stradic ci4+. I used mine yesterday a 3000 size for dropshotting clear lake bass and it's drag is smooth and effortless. It's just about price at this point. How much do you want to spend. I say but the reel you can afford and want.
You sound so cute haha. I have a Nasci 1000 and planning to upgrade to 2500hg the only thing I'm worried about is the weight 240g for 2500 is a bit heavy, you will feel the weight after hours of casting. Miravel 2500hg has the same weight with Nasci 1000 but I love the aesthetic of the Nasci.
Although the review was short, ypu catching those big freshwater drum are more than enough proof that it's an excellent reel. The bonus Walleye was great, and I assume it tasted just as awesome :D
I just bought this is as my first ever fishing pole. Same 2500FC and I was wondering what line should I use… straight flouracarbon or braided? I’ll mostly be dock fishing and fishing Lake Erie and Lake Ontario on the New York side. I was going to go 1000 but figured this being my only setup it’s more diverse. I think that blue line looked pretty dope. Maybe I’ll setup the same but I don’t have a rod yet any recommendations? Edit: I really am excited to learn to fish mostly because I want to get a pedal kayak and take it out on Lake Erie or Ontario. I literally know nothing about fishing 🤫 but that’s what UA-cam is for. If I’m dock fishing should I get a medium lighter rod (maybe 7ft) for better casting distance?
If you're going to fish a lot of docks, go with a medium to medium heavy rod. MH is a little stiff for lighter baits, but will help around docks. A good medium action rod, in a 6'6" to 7' should do the trick. I like the SLX but I'm also a big fan of the Clarus lineup. They're a little less sensitive, but more forgiving for shore fishing or kayak fishing. For line... go ahead and spool up with blue power pro braid...(it looks sick). But throw on a fluorocarbon leader when fishing clear water. Good luck!

6'10" med expride or zodias does the job very well for the money. No cutting necessary hahaha 😅

Thrilled to find a fellow female fisho! I just bought the nasci 1000 size, I'm in Australia

It’s an awesome reel. I’ve really put it through the test these last couple weeks too!
@@AverieRose ,🥰🥰🥰🥰
I’m thinking about buying this reel but I got one super important question! Can the nasci 2500 cast a 1/8oz and 1/6oz spinner
Yea it probably would if u use light enough line yk if your goin for trout I'd use 8 to 6 lb flouro
Yeah I cast super light baits on it all the time… but I’m usually downsizing my braid to 5 or 10lb power pro braid
Yes it can, that depends on your rod
Very very nice reel
Thank you!
