As you know simply "stretching" a photo doesn't increase resolution quality, although I've had good success upscaling images in canva however there are also free images upscalers that increase image resolution like using stockphoto.com image upscale or fotor.com also has an AI image enlarger. It can also be upscaled in Illustrator :) happy creating out there!!!
You know what, if you consistently upload videos for one year. I believe this channel will get 50k to 100k subscribers. Your content is really good and just nice. Good luck
Found you through Cassiy's channel! Love the use of AI, and would love to see more on this. I also dabbled with it, with Midjourney, another AI creator.
Glad you liked the content! Working on a video right now where you use chat gpt to automate some of your etsy tasks and to mine for niche ideas, will be publishing soon!
Good content. One note for others. Scaling an image up, does not increase the resolution. It increases the size, but degrades quality. 10% increase isn't too bad, but doubling in size can look pretty rough.
Actually there are AI Image upscalers that are upscaling the pictures and even increase the quality. Also removing any artifacts that come with AI generated images. So there is a lot going on in that case as well. Used it myself and I am really impressed by what is possible these days.
Thank you so much for this information, Angel! My mind is blown!😂 I know you mentioned digital paper… would seamless patterns work as well on phone cases? Thank you again and please keep the videos coming! You explain things so well and I love your optimistic attitude!❤
Thank you! Unfortunately there aren't many options for cell phone mockups like other products. I found a few on etsy that can be edited in canva though!
Etsy has some decent mockups you can purchase but not a ton to choose from just yet. Other alternative would be to purchase a sample and take your own photo.
If using POD for phone cases you would struggle to make profits selling at the prices the examples you show are selling for. They cost a total of $11 for the cheapest on printify, your profit would be around $2
BRO. You're talking to a seller who made over 100k revenue on etsy their first year working full time with a family selling POD shirts. You saw for urself how competitive that is and I had to compete against sellers who were selling their t-shirts at the price that I was purchasing my POD shirts and was STILL successful. It's all about finding & fulfilling gaps in the current market. Remember people come to etsy for unique items. If cheap was all they were after they would've started at Walmart or Amazon BUT they chose etsy instead. Video coming soon to illustrate point at hand.
You're right. especially if the store is new and to get traction and sales the price has to be competitive. There's reason why there are millions of POD listing for shirts and people are successful in it. There are many POD etsy store that do other items such as phone cases, bags, mugs and so on but the major sellers are shirts.
@@passiveincomeangel Yeah! Just wondering, do you sell clothing and phone cases in the same shop? I'm just starting my shop and am worried about having multiple types of items in the same shop... does that discourage buyers when they go to your shop or no?
Great idea with the phone cases. But I wonder about copyright. Iphone is a registered trademark for phone cases. When you do pod say with printify and you offer the cases for all the iphones in the drop down menu, that surely is copyright infringement. Same goes for samsung etc. Or do I miss something here?
Printify auto-generates how the cases are named, so how they name them in the listing isn't a copyright or trademark issue. As long as it isn't in your seo I think you would be fine.
@@passiveincomeangel Thank you for your reply :-) Still feels not really save ,as long as there is iphone 11, iphone 12 etc. in the drop down menu for the customer to choose from...?
Hi Angel. I had a question. Do you know a better place to buy phone cases as I have found some of the pricing listed on Etsy for cases is far lower than Printify suppliers can provide, even with Printify Premium?
Google "print on demand" phone cases and many other options will populate. I haven't used them before but merchize sells them under $5 a case I believe. I think the key if you want to use printify would be to offer custom photo cases (set yourself apart by using a cool art filter) of people or their pets; or following current trends in pop art or other design trends from other categories like wall art.
Also remember regardless of what product you sell on etsy if it's POD someone willing to print themselves will always beat you on price but if you're able to find gaps in the market pricing doesn't matter as much. People come to etsy for unique, if cheap were all they were after then they would've bought on Walmart or amazon.
You can publish the product to your etsy store from printify. I then go into etsy side to add in additional thumbnail photos and nicer mockups to increase conversion rates. Tutorials coming soon!!! I also have a free pdf starter guide in description!
Just so you know, upscaling a low-resolution image doesn't make it "high resolution". It will be a blurry pixelated image printed on your product, and mostly cause your customers to be upset at the low quality, leave bad reviews, and want refunds.
I've upscaled using this method with good success in the past with many types of images. But would definitely recommend checking the quality simply by printing it at home or ordering samples :)
No it's not, if that's the case they wouldn't allow you to hire designers which they 100% do allow. As long as you have the commercial or POD licensing or thus permission by original artist it is allowed. Here's an article for reference: blog.marmalead.com/etsy-print-on-demand-what-you-should-shouldnt-do/
everybody is doing the same pod, digital downloads etc. make a video about a new store you've launched and made money from otherwise a waste of everybody's time.
I add new products to my existing etsy shop but I do want to create a series in the future where I open new POD & digital download store (separate shops) to see which is easier to scale the fastest. I've sold digital download successfully in the past but now do 100% POD but I think there's ton of potential in downloadables too :)
As you know simply "stretching" a photo doesn't increase resolution quality, although I've had good success upscaling images in canva however there are also free images upscalers that increase image resolution like using stockphoto.com image upscale or fotor.com also has an AI image enlarger. What a super cool video Angel!! Love your use of the AI services!!
Cassiy you should do a video on this as well if this is something that you are implementing. Would love to see it.
OMG what a wonderful idea! I would have never thought of that!! I haven’t started my shop yet so I’m going to start looking into phone cases
Your videos have motivated me. Keep going

You're so welcome Lisa 💫 yes, seamless patterns would work too, absolutely! I think customization or personalized cases would do really well too!
You are the best. I'm definitely going to try it. Thank you
Yaaay, So happy to be watching =)

Cool stuff! Thanks!
Thank you! Great info! How do you find mock-ups that use Canva and not photoshop?
Thank you! Unfortunately there aren't many options for cell phone mockups like other products. I found a few on etsy that can be edited in canva though!
Is the mock up (holding several cases) from a pod site. Obviously the natural environment mock up's get more views. Can you suggest mock up resources?
Etsy has some decent mockups you can purchase but not a ton to choose from just yet. Other alternative would be to purchase a sample and take your own photo.
this video is worth its weight in gold! seriously..

@@scrappycottage Yes, instead of choosing different colors for shirts in a listing for example there would be a drop down for style (brand) of phone.

Great tips!
Love your content Angel! I'd love to get in touch with you about promoting Sale Samurai.
Great video! Would you put phone cases in your t-shirt store or create a new store?
I would add them to my tshirt store and then if they are a product that sells well for me then I would create a new shop with just the cell phones :)
Brilliant! Thanks so much, Angel x

how do yo get the design to fit around the sides?

ChatGPT scrapes data from 3 years ago meaning it could likely be out if date results
you do have to be careful that some clip artists do not allow POD use

ChatGPT's knowledge is still limited to 2021 data, which means it can't answer current questions.
It is against Etsy's terms to sell a product you don't make with a design on it you didn't make.
