Mitsubishi should relesse a heritage program for all their evo parts. That would be awesome 👌

No doubt, they should do the heritage parts like Nissan. I doubt they ever will, but let's all hope. Parts are either discontinued or crazy expensive. It's getting ridiculous.

@@grantkahale8933i think Mitsubishi do care about enthusiasts, but the enthusiast area is a niche market. Cars that actually make profit for a company are boring cars. So usually performence divisions are the ones that are first cut.

@@Mrlolibresadly, they're gonna be remembered as a boring car company for family/old people for every new boring suv, pickup truck they released. they have a very long way to do if they want to attract more younger customer nowadays if they don't released any new sports car like toyota, subaru, mazda, nissan and even suzuki.

I've owned my Evo 8 since 2004. For people who are thinking about getting an Evo they need to be aware of a few things. The stock ride on an Evo 8 is very stiff. Driving on the freeway for long periods maybe too much for some people. The stock turbo is an older on/off type so it doesn't build power smoothly like the new ones. The handling on these cars are excellent and allows me to drive with confidence. Lastly the Evo gets attention on the streets. If you don't like attention the Golf R is a better daily 4 door sedan for you. That being said I still love driving my Evo and even rebuilt my engine after 185k.

Grabbed my EVO IX, in 06 with 3 miles on it, had no idea in the future it would be considered a unicorn! Now that I’m a dad it’s funny to have my sons friends come over say hey that’s a car from fast and furious lol. I'm an original owner of a IX SE. Drove it off the lot with 5 miles on the clock. The single most reliable car I've owned. I did think it would maintain some value, solely due to what it is, but not like this. Been offered silly money for mine. Not for sale, plus my son really wants it. I'm 60yo now, so it may not take long :)

Reconsidered it and plan to slowly give the IX the TLC she deserves. I’m grateful to have bought a house last year to have a garage. Respect to that salesman sitting at the desk behind the computer because when he stated he advised not buying no new vehicle in this economy that sincerely felt genuine seeing he is content driving old Celica and not being bothered with a bunch of financial debt is a person that is financially mature and concerned about his well being cause vehicles have become very overpriced people paying 500-600 a month on small economy cars like Corolla and Honda civics and that's with good credit scores.... Me owing a 9 GG and a 95 3K VR4 yeah money is a factor but if you love the platform you pay to play. I am a die hard Mitsu Guy only cars I ever owned. Best to rack up on certain Mitsu parts that are discontinued etc. if you are a baller you can go all out and get Billet stuff. Now since Mitsu does not plan on making cars. They should at least do an heritage program like Nissan and Toyota on making OEM PARTS again at least. These cars are getting harder an more rare even rebuilt and salvaged title ones are going up. @joshyu $1,000 for an OEM alternator or starter?!! 😳 That’s crazy! Not sure if everyone is aware, but at that cost it would be worth just having your core rebuilt at a shop. In the Bay Area I recommend San Jose Generator & starter. That particular shop does excellent work at a fraction of the cost & to top it off you’ll still have your original core. I have one alternator that’s still going for over 20yrs now for another car. There are similar shops all over the US. Might be a good way to save a small fortune without sacrificing quality.

If I can add my opinion there is a saying you gotta pay to play. It doesn't matter what you're going to buy for fun it will cost you and anything you modify you will sacrifice reliability. You learn that easily from your tuner on the 1st day before it even gets parts or jumps on the dyno. If you're concerned about how old it is personally, I wouldn't be. Technology catches up to you, but it also brings exciting new options to old platforms. When the 8s and 9's came out 2003-2006 the car was crazy ahead of its time when it comes to performance, but you have to keep in mind this was the early stages of tuning in the US the previous Evo's were never even in the US market. So a 600awhp Evo was killing cars like KB Cobras and M3s. Now there's cars coming out with 500-800hp right out of the gate. Luckily for older cars turbos and mods have become better so your older car will be able to keep up if not beat most cars. At one-point 1000hp Evos on the street were rare now you find them and some are sequential with over 1200hp just killing it. There's a lot that goes into something like that. The point is it's not a cheap hobby to have if you want one you want one for the right reason. And it doesn't have to be an Evo it can be and NSX, Supra, STI etc. I sold my Evo a long time ago it was super reliable, quick, easy to work on 'just ask a BMW owner how fun it is to work on a BMW' I made up my mind I will be buying another and keeping it in 2025 maybe before the Summer of next year and the second I get it I'm sending it off to get worked on. Can't wait.

Bolt ons is definitely the most reliable for the car as far as daily driving goes but I think these cars can make 400-500whp very safely without giving anything up but for simplicity/ daily driving bolt ons is the way to go

I agree with you 2023 is a bad time to buy a new car prices are outrageous on everything if you have a Evo or eclipse gsx that you purchased years ago that's still in good condition it's best to keep it cause having a performance vehicle that's paid off in 2023 is an accomplishment!!!! Even the salesmen in the video at the desk said he doesn't advise buying a vehicle so you know we are in hard times if a salesman talks like that!!!!
