I hope SVG's success pushes more guys to work on their road/street course game, because he was putting on a clinic. If you had more guys going for it like he was, and like Lajoie was early in the race, then this event will be even more exciting in the next couple years.
All the commentary is about Shane being from supercars ,,, but we've seen him compete it different vehicles internationally and do well in anything he drives, as for winning, I didn't expect that, but now it's happened, it just adds to the resume of a true champion
If you love NASCAR I wouldn't advise it. Its like that saying ''once you go black'' lol. Seriously the excitement once you watch it, it will amaze you and then going back to ''Ovals'' you'll see the difference. Its like watching Days of Thunder (Tom Cruise) and Fast & Furious. Both great movies 1 is old school classic but the other new school and breath-taking and exciting
Something to note too is that the Supercars and the Next Gen cars use the exact same sequential shifting system minus the auto upshift and 5 gears instead of 6.
Ask any NZ farmer… it’s not hard, all of our tractors are left hand drive. We’ve driven manual (stick) in the states, and for us the bigger issue was remembering which side of the road to be on particularly when turning.
To me, the Chicago track seems wider than Surfers Paradise, Newcastle and Townsvile(?) in the Supercars, so even better for the Gis. By the way...today is the Gis's 500th race in the Supercars.
The annoying thing for me is this insistence from American fans and talking heads that Bell and Reddick got screwed by the shortening of the race/didn't benefit. Shane also had a bad run of luck with that and was in the same position Those guys should have tried not hitting the damn wall and passing 15 guys on track like SVG. Both of them put it in the tyres on their own
I don't get "shortening the race" - in 2014 when the track-dryer burned they fixed the track and raced till 1:30 A.M. !! Maybe they didn't want to be in that "Hood" at night ??
I think a downtown Indianapolis race would be amazing... infront of the zoo, across the canals, big wide road, back over another bridge, downtown streets. Super wide. Flat even. Could do 50 laps I bet more people than you could imagine would show. Would be COOL.
The problem with those cars is ,no steering lock, driver sitting to close to steering wheel,,take a look at SVG,,sit back relax and drive the thing,NASCAR drivers will be eaten alive by any supercar driver
You need to run a minimum amount of races to qualify for "win and you're in"... not sure how many. But I know there is a clause in there for these circumstances.
Let’s be real. A 3X champ in similar cars that only do street and road races is not an even field of play. Congrats to Trackhouse for recognizing talent. Smartest guys on the track by a country mile.
Whole different car set up and learnt over the weekend how to drive the car. If he beat them in street don't you feel he'll have a better chance beating them on the oval with no corners. Give credit where it's due cos if you dnt know but racing for the first time in Nascar on a different side of the vehicle well any vehicle takes time. And other Nascar drivers said the same. Stop being a hater and no wit all

I am disappointed that niether race was a complete race
Mother nature always wins.
Well said guys...excellent commentary, great knowledge of the race, backstory and individual drivers. Thank you!
I might have to go check out Australian super cars after SVG winning
You’re in luck! They’re racing this weekend on another street circuit in Townsville.
Better than what you've go there mate
@@robertbaird4822ot sure about that, atleast their cars don't fall apart at slightest bump
@@chimifnchangas95 sweet thanks for the info!

Tbh most of the Nextgen car is a knockoff V8 supercar
@@anareel4562 Yeah that was kinda my thought as it was being developed 😂
@@Bogues_88The biggest difference is the aero tbh
@@Bogues_88 Smart ass

Lots of us Giz fans are now nascar fans, i want to drive a left hand drive manual just to see how hard it would be
It takes all of 5 minutes to adjust.

If you're right handed, it feels bad ass. Very bad ass.

even a 3yr old can sound out a word, whats the guy on the lefts excuse?

GEEZ What did all that fence and barriers cost ?? And where do they store it all for next year ?
Was a good race, but I don't want it every year..move it to different cities..
Ok Kevin Harvick!
I have a feeling that once the three-year contract with Chicago is over that will be it for Chicago. Chicago has a new mayor and he is not Lightfoot.

You just put Jack Smith's shoulders back! Hahahaha
Well, all the negatives didn’t show up and all the positives were over the top. Good deal overall
so when do the teams get to fine nascar for manipulating races?
First like SVG
SVG in the playoffs? I mean, you win, you're in right?

@haynechisholm2417 just being negative vibes. Can't fix it usually.
Normally drives RHD cars and still wins at the same race he's learning/adapting to a strange car..
