- Need to draw a construction detail or just part of your model directly to the document sheet? No need for SketchUp (unless you want to) as Eric shows you how to get a scaled drawing started from scratch right in LayOut.

Thanks Eric! I've been spending as much time in Layout as inSketchup lately and Layout definitely needs a lot more love and attention. 3D models are great but we make our money when we turn those models into usable construction documents!
For sure! The goal is to eventually get our designs built and for that we need more than just the model ;)
Thanks Eric, I'm loving the recent Layout love in your videos and live streams. I'm learning loads and it's really helping me get more out of Layout.
Awesome. I'm loving that you're loving using LayOut more!
I never used scale drawing before.
Thanks Eric!
Super easy and helpful. Like so many things, now that you now how to use it, you'll start to find more uses for it!
@@ericsargeant3254 that's for sure 👍
I was looking for the way out, I'm off the hook. Thank you l appreciate it.
You're welcome!
upstanding very good explanation , thank you
Great tutorial. Thank you Eric!!!!!!!
Ooh I didn’t know you could explode the contents of the Sketchup viewport into line work.
Has that been a thing for a while? I’ve very recently switched to 2023 from 2018.
I’ll be having a play with that later!
Thanks Eric. Another good one.
yes i use it a lot with blocks from autocad to layOut sometimes they dont come with the right scale and i use this metode to creat a large variety of scale with the same model and save them as skrapbook i was inspired by the scrapbook in layOut with all those car with deferent scale and i m very happy .. my fourniture a all in my scrapbook my most used hatches feels.....its just plug and play
Ow! i didn't know about this rounded hold and click! is that works at sketchup or just in Layout?
That trick is exclusive to LayOut. It's a nifty one!
What is Sketch up? Is an app or a computer program?
Is it free or you have to pay? And if you have to pay how much? And is just one pay or you have to pay every month?

Thanks for that!
I do often scaled plans / DWGS but this time I measured once printed out with the second method & instead of 1:100 it was 1:260
Is there any more tips when importing images?
now i know how to use the scale drawing
Please, I need a way to make scrapbooks that work as components, I mean edit one instance and they are all updated. That would be great, thank you very much!
Great idea. That's not possible as of now. Instead try instead inserting a separate component as a SketchUp model and, if set to Vector mode, can be used as if it were a Scrapbook element (ie Scaled Drawing).
@@SketchUp ¡Gracias! Eso servirá también
Adding dimensions? (at scale) 11:48
Yes. The dimensions are scaled to the drawing so that if I added a dimension for height...it would read as 20" no matter what scale I changed the drawing to.
