Would love to see the ability to classify different types of snap points. Being able to snap together more complex items, essentially putting something together without worrying about if a certain component is snapping to the wrong (or not allowed) snap. A simple way might be to set snaps to tags, and any snap that shares a tag can interact with other snaps with that tag, otherwise ignore said snap. Still a great little upgrade for version 1! Keep it up!!

I've been using CadMan's SnapConnect extension for about 5 years now designing modular cleanrooms and it's absolutely essential to my workflow. I didn't think you were going to win me over, but man the tractor beam got me.
You guys still have a few features to add before I can switch over like nesting more than one layer down and programable POS values for my dynamic components, but I'm really interested to see where this goes though.

Love the new snaps. Tractor beam is great - looking forward to when it works on snaps that are embedded deeper in a nested dynamic component, cos then we can control the location of the snap. Eg for me I want a door to snap into place on a carcass, but if I raise the plinth on the carcass the snap doesn't raise with it.

Snaps is already proving very useful, thank you. Is there a plan to control the locations of snaps within a dynamic component? As an example I would like the snap to always stay central to the length of a dynamic component.

I was able to put Snaps on their own Tag, but the Snaps would still be visible to the Move tool even though I turned off the Tag. I can see multiple use cases for multiple Snaps in a group/component, but the visual clutter of the Snaps could be confusing in move operations if you were not trying to move via a Snap. That is why I had the idea of putting them on their own Tag.

Snaps is working really well with my dynamic components. Eg for plug points on walls I've set Z to the correct plug point height, so once snapped onto the wall it then just jumps down to the correct height. But one thing I'm having an issue with is getting the snap to embed a window in a wall. No matter what I do - flip the snap or rotate the snap - the window just ends up sticking out the wrong way. Could someone help me with this please? I have a video I can share of this issue?

    Great video, thanks Tyler!!!
Question: do snaps only work when two groups/components have snaps in them, or can you create a snaps in one groups and snap it to a guideline on a groups with no snaps?
Thanks again for this awesome new feature, it'll certainly speed up my work 👍

Snaps will align to other surfaces as well, and other geometry, no other snaps needed.

Buona l'idea di creare un tag per rendersi conto visivamente di come si comportano gli snaps. Grazie 🤩
