This is my personal 2024 Tamiya RC Car collection. Nothing else. As it happened I had exactly 52 Tamiya cars in my collection at the start of 2024. So here they are.
Coincidentally - it is also 10 years ago I got my first Tamiya RC Car as an adult - which launched me into this great hobby. So I consider this is my personal 10th year RC Anniversary too.
On top of that, this is also my little chance of re-entering the great and valuable RC car and Tamiya community online. In a way that doesn't require more effort and time than I have at hand. Right now my priority is my family and three little children - and the many work hours that go into supporting them. At the end of each day - just before going to sleep - I feel quite exhausted and these short videos are quite often all that I have time for in a week - at least consistently throughout the year. I hope there will be a few other videos, now and then, when time and the level of energy allows.
I am looking very much forward sharing my passion and love of the hobby again with my friends here in 2024.
If nothing else, this is a great chance for me to dive into my personal collection of Tamiya RC Cars, dust them off, one by one, and enjoy them - even if I find it hard to find some time running them. Hoping for some chances to get at least a few of them outside in 2024 though. All are runners.

I can even smell it from here. Still get a very strong sensory and emotional response every time I see this old thing, takes me right back, 35 years later.

The Nikko Turbo Hopper Hornet Spin-off is what got me into the hobby in 1986 :-) Wish I had had a Hornet back then.

Ha ha, Mikael, you finally ran out of Grasshoppers? Although the Hornet never really appealed to me personally, cool to see how good it became compared to the old Hopper, the suspension sure looked great, and of course the rear tyres are a huge upgrade! Funny, I had never seen this mirror chrome edition, very nice trick with the hand in reflection there, dude!
I'm enjoying these short videos every week, already looking forward to the next one!
Have a great weekend there, my friend!

Hi Mads! Yeah, no more Grasshoppers finally although I could use a few more :-) At least I got a bunch of Grasshopper II's and DT-01's :-) Yeah, the rear tires are probably the most noticeable difference of the GH and Hornet. Well, the polycarbonate body only weakens the chassis rigidity, the rear oil filled dampers doesn't do much than worsening the stiff rear suspension, the rolling rigid transmission is a malfunctioning design and the stiffer Hornet-springs in the front destroys the suspension flexibility. Well, at least it came with a 540 motor. Thank you so much for the support, Mads. And thanks for noticing me waving :.) Hoping you're enjoying the weekend up in the North.

Hello! I need your assistance in choosing a remote-controlled car. I want to get a special gift for my boyfriend, and your expert opinion on this matter is highly valuable to me. My budget is 170$(max), and our priorities include durability and speed. The car's battery should last reasonably long, and it should be resilient against flips and stunts. We aim to select a model that will provide the most enjoyment during play. Could you please recommend a remote-controlled car within the budget that aligns with these criteria? I found the HBX 16889-DG and HBX 18858-BL models through my own research, but I really need your help since it is a subject I have no knowledge of. Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards, Bilge Aydin.

Hi ! So many cars and brands out there so it's hard to say. HBX or WLToys would sure meet the criteria. You could also go for Traxxas or Arrma if it is within your budget.

I tell you what happened to my black Metallic Hornet, it was unfortunately sold! Beautiful RC, and pictures / movies doesn’t do the color justice. It is so shiny in real live.

He he, well, Mr Jesper, I think this one needs to be sold before running it. Looks great brand new, but scratches and bends are much more visible on this one than a normal paint job. Actually think of replacing it with a body with a standard paint job ☺️ But yeah it was beautiful … once ☺️
