Machining Long Bars on the Tormach Lathe and CNC Mill

This video will describe the machining of long aluminum bars that exceed the normal X travel length of the CNC mill and also turning these same long bars that are normally too long for safe turning on the Tormach 8L Lathe.

hi quick question how are you able to measure 25.5 on the mill if outside travel?

I cannot measure the distance on the mill since the mill only has an X Axis travel of 20 inches. I used a previously machined bar to set up the mill and then confirmed the distance after I machined my first bar.
