Dear bodybuilding, why have you changed so much?! And for the worse. Bodybuilding used to be about making lifting workouts tough with tough exercises. Instead its about making lifting easy as long as it builds muscle. This is why Mario Rios is here to make fitness great again!

As a bodybuilder, I agree with most of the points you made. Unlike the lifters in my gym, I use free weights for most of the time and I only usr machines whenever necessary. My gymbros were always using machines like the leg press or hack squat for legs but I didn't let them to keep doing that. Social media has ruined fitness, it's sad that bodybuilding isn't about health or looking good anymore. It's all about putting as much size as possible. I use free weights because I was inspired by the golden era and mass era bodybuilders and also some of these new ones like Zyzz, David Laid or Jeff Seid.

A broken clock is right twice a day that’s all this guy is, you guys need to stop solely listening to him and listen to others and gain perspective, first of all you need to figure out what your goals are, if your goal is to be athletic whilst gaining muscle mass, then a lot of what Mario will apply to you, but for example if your goal is to put as much mass on as possible you need to quit looking through Mario’s dogmatic and tunnel visioned view by that, I mean he has bastardised machines which a lot of you believe that it implies machines are useless when it’s the furthest thing from it, Dorian Yates, Tom platz and Mike mentz we are prime example of why machines work extremely well, especially when it comes to muscle hypertrophy, a good mix of both will always benefit you, also the idea that bodybuilders at “lazy” I will use the example Mario gave with cbum using a smith machine to squat, what you children need to understand is, you are not cbum, you most likely do not have an autoimmune disease, you most likely have not torn a hamstring, him being one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, I personally do not like his physique that much but to win the Olympia several times holds a lot of merit so it’s just fact at that point, you need to consider why he would use a smith machine for the longevity of his career especially when it’s your full time career or he would end up ruining his career much like callum von moger, so instead of eating whatever shit Mario feeds you, trying to actually think about why X person would use X movement for X reason

That's a lot anyhow I understand that reasoning however I personally think free weights would be better becuse it uses his stabilisers giving him more longevity im not saying your wrong because your not however at the end of the day lots of fitness is opinion

Mario Rios fanboys please take the time to read this and try to be non bias when reading it.
Everyone seems to think that under Mario Rios façade, he gives good advice but this is wrong. First of all, he tries to prove his credibility by showing his education from a bad college when in fact anybody can have an education and it doesn't really mean that his advice is valid.
    His philosophy is wrong
because while doing functional exercises can in fact help you're fighting ability tremendously, he trains them to Hypertrophy which is where he goes wrong. If you train functional exercises as if they were Hypertrophy exercises, you're not going to be getting proper Hypertrophy and proper Functionality out of it which is evident when you look at his physique which after 5 years of training, is kind of underwhelming in terms of muscle mass.
He is also wayyy too hyperfixated on standing up while doing every exercise which is unnecessary, while it is true to a degree, he takes it to an extreme. If you look on UA-cam there is a
video of Leon Edwards training in his off-season where he does some supported exercises like Chest Supported Upper Back Rows.
In Summary: Mario Rios training style is bad because he does Functional exercises as if they were Hypertrophy exercises and he needs to shut up about standing up while doing ever exercise.
