I am absolutely loving your content, Marco! I'm a guitar player for 53 years who picked up a ukulele a few years ago and just fell in love. Malaguena was one of the first classical pieces I learned on the guitar and I'm so excited to take it to the uke. Thank you. Oh, and I tune in low G and love that this lesson was in Low G. Thank you!!!
That’s it, I snapped! Contemplating on becoming a Patreon for the longest time. I’ve tried others, didn’t have a flow I can learn from. First lesson on the alternating technique and I’m hooked. I can’t wait for the next lesson. I needed to up my game. Thanks.
Hi Marco, I love Malaguena but when I first saw this clip yesterday (Sun 1st Aug) & heard how beautifully you played it on the uke, I thought this is way above my capabilities. But when you broke it up in more simple steps I thought I'd have a go, and then was very surprised that I was able to follow your simple instructions, and after a while I was able to play some of it myself (albeit in a very "beginners" way of doing it). I was blown away with the whole experience that I decided to subscribe straight up for 12mths to your tutorial series. I'm looking forward to learning more and can't wait to be able to play properly and hopefully become good enough to play in front of people one day. Thank you so much for the inspiration you gave me yesterday, can;t wait to move to the next level. Cheers, Stig from Brisbane Australia. :)
Marco, that was absolutely wonderful. I love your teaching style, and multiple camera angles that makes your content clear and easy to follow along.with. This video will be on my practice sessions for the next couple of weeks. Thanks.

Thank you for that great lesson! I love malaguena and I am happy that I switched to low G on my concert ukulele now, so I can play it. I hope you will teach us more low G songs.
Yay! I’ve loved Malagueña even since my incredible piano teacher played it so many years ago! I was reintroduced to my uke a few days ago-decided on low g lol- and guess what my first song has been? Wheeeeeee! Love your channel,🙏🏼🥳🤗
you should try the d addario flourocarbon strings. they have low G (NOT METAL) and they sound amazing, i hate that low G hiss because of the metal wiring
My ukulele is set with a high G so it sounds a bit different. I love your rendition. You make it look easy and I appreciate this. Thank you 🙏. Grazie mille.
I loved your showoff moment #4 😀! I am of course still a lightyear behind you, but such a sweet carrot is a great motivator for me. The patreon level tabs are worth every penny.
Excellent lesson...much simpler than another lesson I saw online which used the Bbmaj7 chord - much harder to play and doesn't sound any better. You do a good job...keep it up.
Marco, great stuff, I'm really enjoying your videos! One suggestion, flip the finger positioning view box so that it matches the view of ukulele. The way we see it currently is upside-down. That change would help so much! Thanks, and all the best!
You can use a classical guitar wound 4th string or D string as a Low G. A lot of 'ukulele players here in Hawai'i have used a classical guitar strings on an 'ukulele. 😉
Lovely video Marco. Specifically, which strings do you have on this Anuenue uke with low g? Did they fit well on the nut without modifications? I have an Anuenue AMM3 so suppose the nut width will be the same. Thanks for the info!
Thanks so much for your videos and sharing your amazing talent. I just started playing a few months ago and don’t want to pick up any bad habits. I’m having a hard time alternating my pointer and middle finger while playing the open A and the runs on the “moment #4 show off”. Right now it’s as challenging for me as playing the right notes. Is this as difficult for others as it is for me? If I’d don’t worry about which finger I’m using it’s much easier. Any tips on getting this down would be appreciated.
Loving these videos. Coming from your guitar channel. Have you considered numbering your videos to make them easier to find the lessons. As ‘Active Melody’ channel does.
Hola marco 😌 I have a strange question, I hope you don't mind... Have you ever heard the song wild bird by Michael Murphy? And so you think that can be played on an ukelele? My grand niece Madison 😍 was born two days ago and o would like to play it for her. Thank you, auntie Stella.
Hi I ordered a ukulele not knowing it came with a low G string I still don’t know how to tune the low G string what is an Octave down is it - 50 on a ukulele setting on a clip on tuner or is it a G or G3 on the guitar setting on a clip on tuner im so confused
Hi and thank you for this awesome Malaguena. One question please, on 2:27 you show the D minor chord, but why are you playing the D minor on 3:18 on string 4 fret 3 and not string 4 fret 2 as it is in the D minor chord? I‘m a beginner and try to understand the logic behind.
Fantastic tutorial. I'm having a huge problem playing the last part though. When I hit the strings down the bottom of the neck-the smaller frets.. 10/12... They don't ring out. What am I doing wrong here ?
I switched to low g a while ago and the worst thing about it is that there is no unwound low g string here, I have to use the classical guitars D string. It got rusty within a week cuz I just can’t take care of it properly
You can switch the strings around,it's easy to do, Just take them Off and rearrange them in order of thickness. If you Go to you tube and search it Glen Rose i think Will tell U how it's done.
Yes you can. It is the same scale. But you are right! If you play the D harmonic minor scale over the A chord the same scale takes the name from the V degree of the Harmonic minor scale. 🎸☀️
@@MarcoCirilloUkulele i guess the intro set me up for a as the tonal center, but it does seem to resolve to d minor at the end. regardless, great video as always. i always get something from your lessons.

How’d it go?
I tried playing this clawhammer style on my mini banjo. I thought it sounded pretty cool. Thanks
thanx ma man, thats probably the most important tutorial to exist!
one of the best tutorial for malguena
What a great lesson. I might even get to where people will want to listen instead of just listening politely (grin)
Marco, that was absolutely wonderful. I love your teaching style, and multiple camera angles that makes your content clear and easy to follow along.with. This video will be on my practice sessions for the next couple of weeks. Thanks.

Very nice to hear some low Gs too as I'm sure many of us have both 🙂👍🏼

Just started watching your videos recently. You do not disappoint. Bringing it, every video. Well done sir!
I don't speak inglish. En tout les cas, c'est toujours un plaisir d'apprendre vos mélodies. Merci tout simplement.
This video is a beautiful gift. Thank you.
I was waiting for this! Thank you Marco!
I love cutting out the useful part of those tutorials (typically 1 minute) and storing it out for study.
Wow ! Love the low G…thanks so much !

The PH,D low G set is great as well. Also all fluoro.

I'm going to have to look into these for my 5 strings, thanks so much!
What a wonderful tutorial! YOU'RE VERY GENEROUS. Thank you SO MUCH.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy :)
Hi Marco,
I think that you are the reason that the Lani is SOLD OUT at WOU. You are becoming the Valentino Rossi of the ukulele! Awesome..
Hehe, thanks a lot! It's a lovely uke! But the Makai is still my favorite!
I knew I can trust in you - thank you Marco!

It is another version of d minor chord because some notes are same on the ukulele
It is also low g that is why
Fantastic tutorial.
I'm having a huge problem playing the last part though. When I hit the strings down the bottom of the neck-the smaller frets.. 10/12... They don't ring out. What am I doing wrong here ?
It depends. maybe the frets aren't perfectly built.
Where did you get your t shirt?
Every single thing I wear come from Alcot.
@@MarcoCirilloUkulele ok well that’s easy, thanks Marco
