Thank you for a such a great lesson. I had taught myself how to do Rasgueado and I did it in front of some well seasoned guitar players. They had no idea a ukulele could do this. I can’t wait to add this version to my lists of songs to do when guitar players think the ukulele is a toy.
This is so timely. I happened to see a video of Roy Clark playing Malagueña on the old Odd Couple show yesterday. My first thought was wanting to seek out an arrangement for Uke. Didn’t have to search long. This morning I was plowing thru my email and boom there it was! Looking forward to trying it out later today.
My first time here but I immediately subscribe. I am so impressed....you are one of the best teachers I have come across on UA-cam. Absolutely enjoyable! My big thanks to you!
Thanks for that awesome tutorial and for sharing the music score. I play metal on bass and I don't know how I ended up here, but now I'm tempted to take up the low G tenor uke!
Beautiful arrangement and an awesome easy to follow tutorial. I've been practicing this for a few days now and it's already beginning to make me sound much more experienced than I am :) Thank you!
Thanks, a wonderful arrangement! I'm currently working my way through your Graded Reportoire for Ukulele, and love the fact that you have made demonstrations for each piece easily available on UA-cam. Would love to see more in the flemenco style, the mix of fingerstyle and strumming is both challenging and enjoyable!
Hi all, I have a question regarding the rascido technique. I have seen people play it different ways in terms of sequencing and i would like to know what is the aim of it in terms of sound. Technique 1 is unrolling the fingers in the sequence of index, middle, ring and pinky. Technique 2 is unrolling in the sequence of pinky, ring, middle and index. Both of these produce different sounds especially if the thumb is stationary on the g string. Technique 1 - The tendency is as follows -The index hits the strings C,E,A. the middle hits the strings E,A and the pinky hits the string A. There is some overlap but the angle of the hand rolling tends to focus on one of the strings. Technique 2 is the opposite. Which one is the proper technique? Secondly, when unrolling the hand especially at speed there one of the fingers may hit a string that has already been it causing a reverberation. For example if using technique 1. The middle will hit strings E,A. Is this correct or should each sting ring clear, free of the previous hit? Third question on this post should the rascido be performed on the fours strings G,C,E,A instead of three strings C,E,A? Finally, I have seen some people do a 10 finger strum which is thumb (G STRING), rascido, reverse rascido and thumb (G STRING). Is there an order to the reverse rascido of fingers eg pinky, middle, ring, index or index, middle, ring, pinky? There will be a different strum because the apex of the roll will be on different strings. What is the proper technique?
Also i noticed you have several books, I'm fairly new to ukulele- but would love to learn mostly flamenco, Spanish, some rockabilly and blues- what books and content do you have- thanks a million
Thank you! This is the song that I wish to play as a long term goal!! I am only playing Grade One level songs according to your Graded Repertoire. What grade would this song be?
Hi Wendy, there is no recording, everything is done with one Ukulele. The thumb plays the bass line and the other right hand fingers play the upper melody.
Thank you! I'm starting to work on this song, and when I listed again, and looked at your fingers, I just saw them playing the upper melody. Maybe it's because your fingers move so fast, and your thumb doesn't seem to be moving much. Obviously, it's just that you're really good! Thanks for letting me know because I eventually want to be able to play it like this. I LOVE your version of this song. It is SO beautiful!.@@UkuleleCorner
@@ZainNotSoGreat it works for any size ukulele but you have to change the string to a "low G" string. They will be either wound (metal) or unwound (nylon or similar). I order my strings from stringsbymail but most places that sell uke strings should have them.
If you would like a download of the music you will find it here: nycreative.lpages.co/ukulele-corner-malaguena-for-fingerstyle-ukulele/
My son is using this song for his school talent show.
Thank you very much for your generosity in posting this, and providing the music to go with it.
Amazing, please more spanish songs. The songs Asturias and Zambra Mora are also amazing
Yes, I second this!
Jeff, you are a FANTASTIC teacher, in addition to being a superb arranger and performer. This is great. Mahalo nui!

unable to reach download. Great tune to learn. Mahalo
Hi Robert, thank you so much! Also, we checked the link for the download and everything seems to work fine. What is the error you see on your end?
My ukelele is not tuned this way, what tuning is this?
It is low g tuning. The g string is tuned an octave down, everything else is the same.
@@snazzysuze does this tuning work on tenor ukuleles? I just tried it and my g string is super flimsy and loose
@@ZainNotSoGreat it works for any size ukulele but you have to change the string to a "low G" string. They will be either wound (metal) or unwound (nylon or similar). I order my strings from stringsbymail but most places that sell uke strings should have them.
unable to download the arrangement keeps saying 404 not found
Hi Steve, are you still having trouble accessing the file?
Это великолепно!!!
