A massive thank you to Naerina for editing this episode while I was still without a functioning computer. Much appreciated!
She is super awesome! I love her voice.
Her voice is always welcome. I do hope a team of tech-priests has been dispatched to heal the spirit of your computer.
@@TherealSBlair I bought a new one and used it to finish off the Exorcists video we put out the other day. ^^
This video was technically supposed to be out prior to that one, but there were some unexpected delays.
My pleasure, though if anyone ever says that being a youtuber is an easy job, send them my way. I'll give them a lecture about the hardships of editing. Also, I hope the video is to everyone's liking. ^^
I find the Corswain quote funny.
I never got to fight Caliban's monsters. - Corswain
There will be always monsters. - Nemiel
Superb stuff, Naerina’s voice is perfect
Fantastic. 6 Wings FTW
Let’s goooo, Dark Angels
Always wondered this myself. Havent listened yet but already looking forward to the subject.
Props to artist who did the -wing logos, nice and crisp(I believe the flame used for firewing was copied off the pre-heresy word bearers? Distinct shape). Having to come up for a few chapter symbols(hint - loyalist chapters of traitor geneseed made to half-look like their pre-heresy legions with a twist) myself made me realize how the process goes(some were easy, some were hard), as well as why any logo made nowadays is made to look simple and recognizable at first glance.
Going to sneak some references in a DnD campaign I'm DM-ing right now. It's been invaluable info! Thanks and keep It up!
(And good luck with the new setup, Remleiz!)
I really want the Lion to bring back the Hexagrammaton
It never truly left Brother
I mean the only way to hold nihilus is a legion. He is going to bring it back in some way or form.
Excellent work from all of you
Interesting how each emblem has an eight spiked wheel surrounding it. Clearly, just a coincidence......
They are just so good that chaos apes them. Mmhmm.
Khorne wants it. 🎉
Sweet something I hadn't heard of before. I know their companies are wings.
The Deathwing is involved in a game set on a space hulk. The Ravenwing has a song that would fit it "Winged Hussars - Sabaton".
Just love everything about Dark angels. I can't wait for for all the new lore and narratives they get up to in imperium nihilus. Will stay tuned for your calming lore vids!
04:33 Wait a second… LION HAS THE SEAL OF ORICHALCOS??!!!!!
The joyous singing of an angel as always.
Thank you.
I wonder if the Dark Angels and the Unforgiven will create units that take the name of the other wings, like a Firewing name for a Phobos unit that is an Eliminator with the grav/jump back a Suppressor uses.
Wait the hexagram has some significant meaning in use somewhere in 40k lore?? That makes me happy 😁
Hexagramic wards…
I find the Great Crusade and Heresy era Dark Angels so intriguing. It is such a great concept to build a group on. Such a shame that the current chapter seems to be largely along the lines of the meme that everything is oh so super secret and that they will abandon almost anything to chase a Fallen. Would be nice to see more of this stuff, their pseudo-esoterica, and general knight-errant qualities brought back to the fore. Maybe it will return, now that the Lion is back
The Dreadwing still exists to a degree as the 1st company of the Angels of Vengeance a 2nd founding successor chapter of the Dark Angels although nothing is said regarding their method of warfare in 40k
In fairness the Dreadwing of the Angels of Vengeance is pretty much Dreadwing in name only, with their 2nd company being the Raptorwing (the latter of which not being a part of the Hexagrammaton at all). Organisationally it's still very much like the Deathwing of other Unforgiven chapters, with the Raptorwing basically being the name for their version of the Ravenwing.
If anything, it's arguable that the remnants of the Dreadwing served as the foundation for the Star Phantoms chapter (due to both their methods of waging warfare and their chapter iconography being identical to the Dreadwing itself).
Haunting story ….what will be the ultimate out come
thx the video
I'm no newcomer to 40 k but i still watched
Further proof that Lion El'Johnson should have been warmaster. The first was so flexible.
comment for the comment god!
Bigger question why does farsight have one his armor?
What Farsight has is a Hexagrammic Ward taken from the remains of a pre-human civilisation. The fact they share the same shape is a coincidence, nothing more.
Wait that's the Seal of Orichalcos
Great content, but as a "for newcomers" type video, I feel like this is a pretty advanced topic, theres a whole bunch of more important lore basics that should come first.
You'll need to talk to our Patreon supporters about that in which case, since they're the ones who nominate these hehe
@@40KTheoriesThat's pretty dumb. No newbie is ever gonna blindly support the patreon straight away.
@@KingLich451I mean I nominated the topic cuz 1. There was already a Dark angel one so this one is basically a continuation of that one.
2. As you can see I’m a dark angel fan and I love to share lore of my favorite faction.
The symbol they use is the Unicursal Hexagram, which is a real world cult’s symbol. Why they did this is beyond me, because I literally escaped this cult and they are super evil. The symbol was first drawn by Aleister Crowley and is used by his Thelema religion’s organizations, especially the OTO. GW actually uses a ton of this cult’s symbols, which is weird. But the guys who founded the company were members, so no surprise.
You’d think they’d be more original.
Fire Wing are Alpha Legion copycats 😂😂
Or are the Alpha Legion copying the Firewing? 🤔
@@40KTheories 😳 Heresy!
@@MrCaster3200 well actually, only "first", by numeric.
Emperor found ALPHARIUS on Earth and Malcador basically raised him, before the Crusade, right?
And these DA Wing Formations, only come once Lion is found.
@@MrCaster3200 not exactly in all ways. Remember Emperor found on Earth and Malcador raised Alpharius before Crusade.
DA Wing Formations come with Lion
Remember the last words of Alpharius's Primarch novel, which were something to the effect of "I am Alpharius, and that was a lie". 😉
