I think when you’re celebrating someone’s birthday you’re just showing this person that you’re happy she/he was born and is in your life. You celebrate that person’s importance for you. And when you have birthday you show gratefulness that others remember and care enough to spend their time with you :)

This is why I like Christmas more than birthdays - your birthday is a special day to you, but everyone else thinks it's just another day and you still have to go to work/school/whatever, whereas on Christmas everyone stops and celebrates together, and if you don't enjoy attention you're not the centre of the whole day so that's nice

I am born on leap day! I am 26 years old, but I only had 6 ''real'' birthdays. (so I am ''6,5 years old'' in that way..) When I was a kid my family celebrated my birthday on the 28 feb when it wasn't leap year, sometimes on 1 march if my mother was only free that day. And when I was really young, they celebrated both days! However, when it IS leap year, we still have an extra big party/extra nice food when it is my real birthday. I was a little bit teased about my ''real age'', but I always loved being born that day. Also an other issue I had when I was a teenager! When I was creating accounts for gaming or social media sites (more than 10 years ago) I sometimes couldn't use my birth date to tell how old I was, because the websites didn't recognized my birthday as a real date!!

When I was 16 I used to think that after I turn 18 no one is gonna scold me for partying late night and going out with my friends. But things didn't turned out as I thought it would. And I still get scolded for coming home late night and going out with my friends frequently. The only thing that has changed is earlier I used to live with my parents and now I'm living in a dorm. And now I have my own personal lifestyle that I feel suits me well. Not the one imposed by my parents.

I noticed at my class in the last year. Once someone met their birthday, and this person was active on Facebook and a few others, out group whatsapp chat would overflow with messages. But for the birthdays of a friend of mine and myself, the chat was empty. We aren't popular or something, but also not hated and more importantly for this: neither of us used Facebook. So that might've been the cause...

For my birthday I went to a restaurant with my parents and it was so delicious and nice, I got some gifts and a nice time ^^ I feel like it's important to go out somewhere on your birthday and make it a special diner, we eat at home ever other day so it doesn't feel like a birthday otherwise. The next day is back to normal so doing something remarkable for once is a nice change :)

My birthday is a week before Christmas. I always get Christmas decorations as gifts... yet, Christmas is my least favorite holiday, especially when compared to Halloween. The only part I enjoy about Christmas is being with my family, but I can do away with the decorations, but no, I just get bunches of them. And I've only ever had two parties growing up. Everyone is too busy during the holidays, even when I tried to do one Dec. 1st, only my closest friends came. Eventually I just made it a best friends day. But, probably one of my best birthdays was when my best friend and I moved together during college. Her boyfriend was back in Montana, two states away. They skyped a lot, and he asked her to come a week early to celebrate Christmas. I was sad, but I understood. She had her family and him up there. Then she said, "I can't, that's Julie's birthday, I want to be here for that." Literally went downstairs and bawled because I realized just how amazing she was.

So in order to overcome those bad influencers you gotta learn to say NO. In a year you would be called a grown up and you seem to be pretty serious about it after all...
I Know.. I know... that right now I'm talking like an old dad but trust me these things do matter. And I wasn't a smart one so I had to face a lot of difficult situations from time to time. I'm a knuckle head😓 so I committed mistakes knowing the fact that what I'm doing ain't right but still I did those stuff to gather experience in my own way.🙂

My birthday is a week before Christmas. I always get Christmas decorations as gifts... yet, Christmas is my least favorite holiday, especially when compared to Halloween. The only part I enjoy about Christmas is being with my family, but I can do away with the decorations, but no, I just get bunches of them.
And I've only ever had two parties growing up. Everyone is too busy during the holidays, even when I tried to do one Dec. 1st, only my closest friends came. Eventually I just made it a best friends day.
But, probably one of my best birthdays was when my best friend and I moved together during college. Her boyfriend was back in Montana, two states away. They skyped a lot, and he asked her to come a week early to celebrate Christmas. I was sad, but I understood. She had her family and him up there. Then she said, "I can't, that's Julie's birthday, I want to be here for that."
Literally went downstairs and bawled because I realized just how amazing she was.
