- Serato have just announced new versions of their DJ Pro and DJ Lite software - 2.3.0. And this is a big one, as it includes, amongst other things, a complete overhaul of their FX system, which many DJs have been hoping to see for a long time. Meh. I'd rather see better library management tools and functions such as crate search, more tags/custom tags, related tracks, ratings, etc. Also, improved and smoother graphics throughout the entire GUI, improvement or waveform stuttering effects... to name a few. I don't think there are a lot of "new effect" requests and feature suggestions in Serato's forum either.
Crate search has been around for ages. Instead of pressing ctrl/cmd + F, left click in the search field while you’re in a crate and it will search inside the active crate 🙂

I wanna search a song and see in what crates that song can be located in... But yeah I'd love to see some library upgrades for once... ✌🏽
Greta job VLATZ! I really hope they update the library eventually and make it easier for us to organize our music (grab and move multiple crates at once, find doubles, auto tag music, etc) and SEARCH crates. I also would love to archive crates so I can streamline my library but also keep specialized crates in the archive for the times I may need them. Like I want to have a master library I can pull from but have a streamlined library for when I go to different gigs.

I'VE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT ARCHIVED CRATES THAT IS A SPECTACULAR IDEA. I kinda do it manually by putting them into a crate in a crate, but legit archiving would be really nice

How about when we search for a song, there is a feature that tells us what crate its in 👌🏾
When u search for a track it will tell u on the tab which crates it’s in man

Yes PLEASE! Right now I have to go to the subcrates folder in finder (outside of the program) and search for the crate to search where the crate is.
or the ability to filter down more than one column.. or add custom filters to a crate
Wish list.
1.archive crates
2. An A.I feature that detects profanity for radio or events with kids.
3. Colorized tracks.
4. Better music management (Autotags, auto fill)
5. The option to pre install hardware when installing Serato.
6. Custom skins for serato GUI
7. A track spacer that you can colorized, name and resize so you can have spaces when you have a crate with multi genres.
If I miss any please add below, I’m sure there are many more that would be more useful than this.

Serato effects are pretty trash...this is big news if they fixed them.
Apple Silicon Support is kind of a big deal
Also he said Custom effects… which should mean you can create your own effects to call up to make your mixes unique. This sounds SICK! Similar to what traktor have.
Native silicone support is welcome.
But the Algoriddim Djay style flexible beat grid is the big improvement I am waiting for.
Might as well switch to Djay Serato takes forever for updates

Library Features:
- Suggested Tracks: Recommendations based on selected parameters.
- Enhanced Sorting Options: At least four sorting criteria such as Key, BPM, Year, and Colour.
- Multi-Crate Management: Ability to click and move multiple crates simultaneously.
- Crate Playtime: Display total playtime of all songs within a crate.
Software Features:
- Improved FX: Significant enhancements to echo, echo out, and reverb effects.
- Sample Player Fix: Resolve the issue of samples cutting off when changing banks, which
was not present in earlier versions.
- MP3 Recording: Option to save recordings in MP3 format.

All the thanks to Mad Vlad for this Serato update! Some interesting features in there. The first DJ software I'm aware that allows this kind of effects customization although I'm not complaining on my Traktor software in this department.
So the echo out is actually fixed after like 10 yrs now? It sounds off beat. My god I hope they fixed it.
i pretty much only use hardware effects but glad for finally getting native m1 support YEARS later
M1, M2 and M3 support, but no love for the recently released m4 LOL
what about mic 🎤 reverb control settings or exciting features for new dj pioneer controllers. As In ddj rev5 ddj rev7 ?

Mojax, love ya mate, but last time I checked it was Holiday and not Vacation ! lol. Love what you do :). Just to confirm Serato is now running properly on Mac as apposed to running emulated (that is what I understood as it wasn't ported over to the M1,M2 Macs etc)
Serato been letting us down for quite some time now. Only thing holding it down are stems.
Any one know where to download this beta version. I would love to try it on my m2 mac and see if there is a performance difference.
Let me know when you guys drop a version that deletes doubles and triples etc... of songs one might have.

We need some sort of cloud based shared crates. That can be shared with specific people like if me and the boys wanna make a “hip hop club banger” crate that we can all add to. And it would update in real time to who ever the crate is shared with.
I know this will never happen because of music pool sharing rules but it would be dope
I mean you could literally do all of this in Traktor already with midi mappings and modifiers using their effects, but being able to do this more intuitively using presets, will lead to a better UX.
I like the fact that sets will start to sound a bit more interesting.
We've heard the same DJM900 and Serato effects 100000000 times now.

How about adding a software that can scan the library and add the year to the song when it was made and not only the songs that are downloaded to serato with the year.
Mo love the way you're hiding your mic on the adidas shirt.... I saw video .. I have been a Serato Pro user for over 8 years now and I would have loved if they added a 3/4 beat on the effects knob. Currently it's 1/2, beat, 1 beat and 2 beat and add a button to move the search area to the far left side of the interface. It would just be a little easier to navigate with a mouse.

How about a direct link to file manager instad of pissin about with crates .. we dont need more effects just a solid foundation for organising music
only 2 upgrades with Serato i require. i still use the older install for 2010 macbook pro. #1) midi assignable button to insta load sample bank file to turntable side of choice.(for scratching)... #2) ability to visually draw silence on the multicolored wav file. oh and get rid of that monthly payment to use serato video i just want to make one purchase and own my software.
Apple Silicon support is awesome for the mac users. I don't know if anyone with hardware fx is going to be too excited for software fx.
Looking forward to seeing how this runs on my M1 macbook. A solid update. I feel people are being a little harsh on it :)
Hey Serato! Better beat-gridding, and library management is what I want. Prepping tracks and playlists is such a time suck. My family misses me. Fix this and you will have very happy customers.
They have ruined the fx for me no looper which I used a lot to make on the fly scratch beats and the removal of single fx with more control is shit too the fx are basically a nerfed version of the fx available in Algoriddim dj but without the real cool fx that has

Here I was expecting dynamic beatgrids, better library management, ACTUAL M Series silicon support than it running under Rosetta

• For Mac users, Serato 3.2.0 introduces native support for Apple Silicon processors (M1, M2, M3 machines). This update ensures optimal performance and full utilization of your device's processing power.
Dynamic beatgrids would be nice. Beatgridding Afro House and Disco inside Serato blows. I use Lexicon DJ for that. It takes about 30 seconds to scan tracks in a folder and it’s mostly accurate.
@@djberniegonzalez They say its got native support now tho- what do they actually mean by that? Might just be more smoke and mirrors. Pioneer have run serato into the ground. They dropped support for 32 bit systems while supporting outdated operating systems like w7 and w8.1. A while back I sold my thinkpad and brought an m1 to use dvs with and its still slower than my old 2012 laptop. Despite saying its fully supported. If it dont get better after this update serato is dead. Shame because in some ways its still the best. Need to use outdated hardware to use it tho..

Native apple silicon support finally is a very welcome addition. Otherwise not that excited, I use Pioneer / Rane hardware effects 99% of the time, it has probably been years since I have used the Serato internal effects...
Yeah been using a few effect pedals+send return for ages now. Never paid attention to software or built in effects

One of my main complaints in Serato vs my software of choice DJay Pro, is that you can search for ANY song in streaming, not just music that's already in your playlists. As a mobile DJ, I get TONS of requests and a lot of them are songs I've never heard before or just don't have in my collection. Also, the beatgridding in Serato is SO BAD!!! They should implement some sort of "mass user database" that can "learn" from user input/edits to the grid. I feel like that's kind of a big ask, but they've gotta figure out a way to get ahead of the competition. The next generation of DJs doesn't care about the "rules" of DJ'ing. We understand that the technology is a tool and what matters most is HOW you use it. The easier they make it to use (ie DJay Pro) the more likely they are to stay relevant.

Related tracks. Pioneer purposely eliminated the serato fx on one of their lost popular controllers floating around..the ddj 1000 series.

Serato its not for the regular dj that need to have a good dj library organized seems for the club show dj that play for 1 0r 2 hrs preselect songs

All I want is for it to stop the glitches when playing B2B with people. That's literally the only update I care about. No new features. Fix the stability.
It is just so predictable at this point. Totally fine when I play alone, absolute nightmare when I play B2B - even happened with Blakey as my B2B partner, while he was working with Serato!

This is quite disappointing. We got a bunch of effects were not going to use… They should’ve fixed the fact that the gains are never saved on tracks after you exit Serato
Never found Serato to be worthy. I own it but it sits around in the shadows of RB. I wish AB would solidify the sale merge, improve RB stems and move on.

Its one feature i really cant understand why people want it, literally doing themselves out of a job.
I’m a simple man..I’d be happy with very basic things like the ability to use multiple streaming services at once…ability to make playlists using streaming and my own tracks together…basic stuff rekordbox has been able to do for years.

Nothing crazy . Just effects not happy about just focusing on effects . Can we get something more meaningful . Like continue play with overlapping songs so if I have a dinner reception I can go have my vendor meal and not worry about gaps in between songs
