Remember, this device is designed to be used with a phone or iPad, where you have all of these buttons anyway. To play a full set on the iPad, the only thing really missing is a sound card, so any buttons on top of the sound card are a bonus. Can’t wait to get my hands on one.

You are always quite kind with your reviews. I personally cannot get past using plastic chrome knobs in 2024. The design looks quite dated as well. Calling it "Pro" is quite misleading when It has no booth output and requires a real "Pro" industry mixer to utilize it in any kind of professional setting. I would love to hear what the FOH guys have to say about this unit when Luke goes on stage.

Imagine showing up at a festival or club with your own monitor speakers and stands hahaha yeah mate, just take 30 minutes to set up your personal speakers in the booth right next to the speakers the venue already provides, good idea, extremely professional 🌈

@@robertschnobert9090 That wouldn't be the problem man- the problem is the RCA outs. It aint hard to send the output to multiple busses, one for front of house and one for a booth. Ppl do that with old vestax mixers all the time. The issue is 99% of venues will have 1/4 inch or XLRs in the booth so you'd have to run an RCA out to the in house mixer.. which is often the other side of the venue.. or I suppose you could rig up a smaller mixer to send a balanced output over a long distance but that kinda negates the point of having a small portable mixer Imo. Just make it a little bit bigger- PMC-06 size maybe, give it proper outputs and your sorted. The Ecler NUO 2.0 is a tad cheaper and at it has balanced outputs. Just need a DVS box.
Saying all that, I think this with an innofader will pop off within the portabalism scene! Could see it being a smash hit alongside a PT01 running Phase. Considering getting it for that reason alone aha. Few oversights but overall looks like a wicked piece of kit

@@TheDJLab why do you think FOH sound techs would have something to say about Luke plugging this into the DJ mixer on stage?
Balanced cables only really make a difference over longer distances as far as I know, so provided it has decent audio interface built in and a decent quality 3ft RCA to hook it up to the DJ mixer, I can’t see any issues, but wonder if I’m missing something? I’ve seen plenty of CDJs hooked up to a DJM using analogue dual RCA cables over the years…

With so much mixing power in such a small package the innovation is definitely there. And Reloop & Luke should be applauded for that. This is good for the industry which has been in a Pioneer deadlock for way too long now. And if you want to go serious with this then the price is justified IMO. Going compact without sacrificing quality usually comes with a price tag. The amount of muscle memory required for this device is scary though. Having each hardware control bound to both Mode and Shift functions can get complicated and unintuitive really really fast.

I have always loved modular devices I still have the traktor ranges of devices. With the new dynamic beat grids in Djay and all its other features makes this a great choice for the creative DJ. Most DJs don’t use a lot of the features.
Learning what does what and building that muscle memory is key if indeed a bit of a learning curve.
I would probably pair this with an X1 mk2 or mk3 and have the extra features mapped to those devices. I would need to run it on my Mac to do that as I don’t think the iPad supports them.
As you can at least have some additional control hands on without having to switch modes all the time. All while keeping a pretty small system. Glad to know the output volume is good on the unit, since that has been a flaw with a lot of low end devices especially usb powered ones.
The whole using sync but with the dynamic grids means you can concentrate on more creative mixes and with neural mix just getting better and better there is so much more you can do. Djays looper function is much under rated.
The price point will put a lot of people off and you are right if you are not all in then why would you buy one.
Great to see some modular units coming back on the market,

Yes you right what you saying just give it a few months and check it out on a later date or you could always ask beforehand if you can test the unit with your phone, and tablet in the shop for a demo if that makes sense. Then test it on your windows in store or at home if it doesn't work with that explain to them and I'm sore that they give you full refund. DJ CITY mentioned in video it's definitely works for Apple and iPhone will work but he says (Android and Windows) what I don't believe for now until a update in the future for Reloop Mixtour Pro. The reason behind this I can't even download Djay Pro or the latest version of this software only old version what ever this is, so how can this possible to work with hardware. because I had the first generation Mixtour and I had problems with it on my Android phone version 12 not my Android tablet 10 what is older. Even the DJing shop couldn't find out why it works with old android versions, so I got a refund with in a time limit. Great device but I not seen anyone us it with Android or Windows PC!!

@@stevied2710 I decided to avoid all this and simply buy iPad Mini as my first Apple device. I know it's another 500 bucks so it's total 1000, and you can get better options for that, but not for me. I used to DJ on vinyl and later on all DJ software. Now I just want something small, quality, and portable. Plus, I can use iPad for other stuff as well. So it's all depends on preference. Sound card used in Mixtour Pro is on same level as in flagship Pioneer (same chip). That is important to me. Headphones are loud, crisp, main is the same. So there is quality power sound there. Just not on Android. The device is small and portable, so I can take it with me anywhere and not to worry if I should take my DJ gear with me. iPhone would be perfect for it, but I do not want to switch and deal with al this headache. So I decided to start with iPad Mini and see how it goes. If I do not like it, then I can always sell it or use it for other stuff a t home. If I like it, then I will get an iPhone, and I am already planning to get a Mac at some stage for music production. So, for me it will work. Even with extra cost for iPad mini. I am at the stage of life where I care only about reliability, and I can afford it. I am tired of constant issues with Windows and carrying a laptop around. So weirdly enough, DJing and DJ app will be my way to the dark side. Who knew...

Second thought…of course you have to think about for what kind of DJ this was designed for and are you one if these DJs? It makes no sense to rant about not having proper 4 channels if there are plenty if DJs out there who are just fine with 2 channels. I have my Mixtr Pro for 2 weeks now and gotta admit that the „thinking outside the box“ in other words all these mutli layered Features are actually the fun part of this device. Great device but I not seen anyone us it with Android or Windows PC

TBH this controller is pretty disappointing. The controller is great for what it is in 2 decks only. I personally have a really hard time navigating 4 decks and Algoriddim’s 4 deck mode lacks a lot of essential information from hardware mode. It’s unusable in 4 decks. The biggest problem with the stem switch is that it messes the original positions of EQs. So a big letdown.😂

@@Elcee333 I think ‘Pro’ anything is a marketing gimmick in this case. Pro refers to it accessing all features of the software, even if theyre buried under endless shift settings.
Your point about sound doesnt make sense, its designed to play digital files, 1’s and 0’s there is only sound or no sound, the quality is determined by the file type, WAV, MP3 etc. And plugging a mixer/soundcard into another mixer is just adding more steps to the signal chain with no good reason.
I’m not knocking it, and not knocking Reloop, I love their kit and have used their turntables for over 15 years.
But in this case its too expensive and seems like an LBL self promotion gimmick.

    • @Elcee333
      @Elcee333 2 місяці тому

@@Fran-or3lt I love using the OG mixtour and I played all kinds of setups and usually in bigger venues. The mixtours soundcard isn’t that great, so I was hoping for a better sounding mixtour. Pro is better sound and pro use, bigger clubs and festivals where there’s a cdj/djm setup. A wedding dj needs balanced out, a club dj needs a small unit that can fit between the other stuff on stage, You can hear a difference in quality between a cdj and the mixtour, hopefully the mixtour pro has better sound. I love using djay pro on ios. The software is probably the best out there and using touch on effects has changed my way of playing. Using an iPad makes a kind of hybrid setup, you have a touch controller and a small controller for hotcues, loops, eq, etc. I prefer the Djay iPad Mixtour setup to using cdj’s or turntables.

The Traktor X1 does the same thing for about $250 less and if I need to build up my gear from that level I can by adding a Audio Splitter cable for $20 or a Komplete Audio 6 for a couple of hundred bucks. But with the Komplete Audio 6, I start to pull away from the pack very quickly because I gain input, output and MIDI functionality as well as a USB interface for connecting with my laptop.
