Laine, I don't care what you wear when filming. It can be a ball cap or a tiara, because you deliver amazing content, I admire, and I am inspired by the work and projects you and Kevin do. Thank you.
I want to see the tiara and hear how you two met. Bob and I have poopers for our stupid mental health too! 13 infertility procedures and 5 miscarriages. We do our best.
Laine…I don’t care what anyone else has to say about you, you are AWESOME at doing the home tours. I totally enjoy those tours! I learn so much from you on those tours. More importantly, your knowledge on historic restoration is just fantastic!! How you learned all that…I don’t know but you are impressive.
I tested positive for the “virus” yesterday and UA-cam suggested your channel. I have been binge watching all of your episodes. Such a breathe of fresh air. However I am a bit mystified why anyone would comment about your hair and looks. My Mother still dyes her hair at 80, yours is so thick, shiny and luxurious that you should keep it any length you want, and the pigtails are not only cute but totally appropriate to work in the old houses. I guess their Mothers never taught them, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”. Thank you for keeping me company while I recuperate.
I stumbled across right before your house burnt. I am 70 yrs old and A Queen Anne Victorian has been my dream since I was 15. I have never had the privilege of living in one so when I saw your channel. I was so excited. I could at least enjoy the homes with you. Please don’t stop. These homes need you two.
Laine and Kevin, Possibly re-watching this video and reminded that Louise was where I got hooked! I love watching your restorations, your attention to detail, dedication to restoration. The humor is a plus!
Stayed at Brandon Hall with the new lovely owner. Sitting on porch rocking with owner just taking in the atmosphere. Can't replace that memory. Great B and B.
I fell hook line and sinker for Louise and mourned her loss with you. Was so happy you continued your journey and so enjoy all your videos whether it’s restoration or touring a significant architectural structure. It is amazing what you two are able to accomplish while maintaining a full life outside of your restoration work! Keep up the great work!
I just started watching your series. I love you two, my husband died of COVID last year, and we always laughed like you two do. You bring me such pleasure and your talent is so wonderful.
It’s truly amazing how incredibly shallow some people can be. The majority of us love everything about your channel and you look beautiful ALWAYS, hair and make up done or not done!
Don't worry about the haters guys; they hate everyone, and my guess is, they actually hate themselves more than anyone else. Love your channel, and I;m so excited to be on this journey with the two of you!
What people care about how someone is dressed in a video is beyond me, look in the mirror, focus on yourself. Absolutely love your videos, touring those beautiful homes. I live in Washington State we do not have the scale of old homes here. We took a trip to Georgia and stayed in some bed and breakfast that were in old homes . I loved every minute of it. Please keep this up, I love watching you guys! Laine you are beautiful!!
My husband and I just spent time in Natchez and tried desperately to find Pearl. Just learned as I was watching this, that she was not on Pearl street. Love watching your channel. Keep up the good work . I will keep watching.
I'm so sad to hear about Louise being burnt to the ground. I am one of those people who live vicariously through your videos as I neither have the money, energy, skills or health to be able to do what you do. I think restoring old homes is a beautiful thing to do and American homes have so much character (Not so much in Australia), your work is beautiful and the grand old ladies you also show on your channel are just gorgeous!
What fun to recap the last year, and get some additional backstory! Your authenticity and genuine enthusiasm for this work shows in every video you’ve ever put out. Yes, your filming “style” is improving, but your content has always been top notch. Thank you thank you thank you. It’s educational and entertaining, and a joy to be a part of!!!
Thank you, Laine and Kevin, for being so faithful to this community. I started watching when you started posting Louise videos. I cried when I saw her burn down. You were a bright spot during the pandemic and you continue to be what I look forward to every Thursday morning. The early videos may not have been as technically polished as the ones you post now, but your genuine love for the houses you restore has always shone through. Your love, affection and friendship for each other has always been obvious. The knowledge you share with us has been wonderful and I have learned a lot about restoration, architectural style and the history of the places you visit and work. I am sad that some people believe they have the right to criticize how you look or dress in some videos, Laine. Your sparkle always shows through and shame on them for looking for fault. Our Restoration Nation is one of my Top 5 favorite channels and I think you both do an amazing job! Also, I would love a tour of Savannah! I haven’t been there in 30 years but I always remember it as one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever traveled.🌸
Happy UA-cam anniversary! You are a joy and educational to watch. A most winning combination. I am a big fan and love your commitment to restoration and preservation through adherence to authentic.
Happy Anniversary Laine and Kevin! Love to watch you on UA-cam!!😊 Wish you two could rescue the huge green house on North Main in Janie and Nellie's town!
God Bless ya'll taking on all these beautiful old homes. I can't stand when they tear down historic homes or remodel them in all updated stuff in them. Sorry you lost Louise that must of been devastating. Happy anniversary on UA-cam. My favorite old city our Sant Augustine FL, Ashville NC, Abingdon Va, and Jonesboroug TN love if you could showcase them.
Restoring old homes, Victorian homes, history, we just love it. It is a repreive from the many bad things going on in the world right now, and I thank you both for this escape, I can fold laundry, cook food and do dishes, go through old mail all while watching your videos. Beautiful.
Good lord, I cant believe that people are concerned about what you wear, I think they are confused about what you do on this channel. Wear that coal dust proudly girl because the 2 of you do such beautiful work on these historic old homes
A big thank you for all your hard work and sharing these homes with us. And to all the busy bodies commenting on Laine's appearance (which is gorgeous), mind your manners and your business. Nobody wants to hear your nonsense.
Lane, I write paranormal mysteries for a living. Because I like to make my stories as believable as possible, I decided that I needed to understand the buildings in which I wrote. Because of this, I decided to search for homes for sale in the time period of my haunted building. I came upon you and Kevin through a UA-cam search. I decided to watch a random video. In it, Lane, you were was describing some trim and used the term dental. I looked up what was not only an interesting new term for me but found you were not only correct in what you were talking about but created further interest with your carefully chosen words. Next, I checked out Restoration Nation and was pleased to see your and Kevin’s videos on restoration. I think that I found them for work, but honestly, I watch now for my personal enjoyment. Lane, you defend yourself. I love this. I love the support you get from Kevin and vice versa. I have had to deal with critics in my line of work, but I do hate to see you take any criticism to heart. Here’s a hug from a grateful follower of your UA-cam and Instagram. Alexie Aaron
Hearing about Louise made me realize how these homes you take on are your little orphan babies !Loving them and bringing them back to life for all to enjoy.
Im at 21 in the video listening to your conversation about the clothes after cleaning out the chimneys...Hon, you would look CUTE in a gunny sack...no worries about silly people who can't see the forrest for the trees!!! 😁 You go Girl, you've got it together!!! Love what y'all do!!! ❤❤❤
I can't believe that people have the gall to down your clothing or your looks.Truth be known 90% percent watching you are in old sweats and t-shirts.Better yet in their Pj's like me .There is nothing wrong with your looks .I think you are beautiful inside and out .Keep your video's coming I love them .
Thank you for saving old homes. Yes, as in the past, tears ran down my face today when you showed Louise on fire. Louise was a wonderful house. I love your channel. You are both lovely, kind, talented old souls. Laine you are a beautiful lady. People that make ugly remarks about you must have some crazy problems. I will be looking forward to your next fascinating video!!!! All the best from Memphis, Tennessee
I never even thought about your clothes I just wanted to move and buy that house. You are a natural at explaining the old house and your humor and your knowledge makes you the best at showing homes. ❣️
I don’t remember how I found your channel but I was hooked from day one. Obviously, seeing the old homes is great but, for me, it’s really your personalities that are so enjoyable! I love the passion you both have for these old beauties and it’s been fun watching the restoration progress. Thank you for sharing your journey!
I love when you, do you! Don't worry about how people try to turn you into Hollywood. Be natural, be yourselves because that is what attracted me to your channel was your knowledge of style and architecture, class and style. I'm not watching this channel to see you walk a red carpet and hear the extensive virtues of who designed your clothing. Your style fits what you are sharing in the channel description. I hate it when people do home improvements and they are walking around in couture clothing. It's like they don't do any of the work, someone else is doing it. I like that you do the work, you look like you do the work, and you are very knowledgeable of the historical aspect of the homes you film. Kevin's filming and music is just right and I love this channel. I love old homes and I love to see what you do to bring the breath of life back into them. The rest is just filler.
Ihave watched several channels of showcasing old homes and their restorations. I find yours the most thought out, better preparation regarding the architecture and period. Your knowledge is so appreciated and lends to a better appreciation of the homes. I can tell you love what you are doing. Thank you.
I love watching your shows. Louise entertained me during COVID. When Louise went up in flames, I cried. THANKS for your easy banter, your fantastic knowledge of old houses.
Such a sad story about Louise, but you and Kevin certainly handled the loss well! The rest of this video is delightful---just like both of you! Thank you for what you do and thank you for sharing it with the rest of us!
Laine your a star and if people are are being negative, smile & bless them. Don't let them take your shine away and be you. Big hugs to you both! Love your shows!!!!
I followed y’all when you first bought Louise and I remember crying for you when she burned down. So glad to see that y’all are on here doing these tours. I really enjoy your videos🫶
I think of that amazing medallion in Louise that was covered up, and say to myself, 'She was a beautiful house'. 💗 The story of Margery May is incredible. And to think, her story is know known by many people. 💕
This video is fantastic! You two are as charming and charismatic as the homes you bring to us! I love watching how you interact with one another! It's ridiculous that you have to deal with some of the BS in the comments. I love the little community you have created created with your content. Keep up the great work! I have such great love for these old homes, that it pierces my soul! There are times that I just cry when I see these beauties! I almost can't even explain how I feel, but you guys probably understand exactly what I'm talking about! Thank you for all of your love and hard work! I truly admire and appreciate you! 🥰
What makes your videos and stories so enjoyable is your love and passion for homes, history and each other. Thank you so much for sharing this all with us armchair travelers and old home lovers. 💕
Love, love, love watching what you do! From the tours, to the restoration, to chatting and reviewing. I teared up watching Louise again and the Marjorie Mae story gives me goosebumps. They were my grandparents generation the story seems so much more personal because we all became their heirs because of Laine and Kevin. And Kevin totally made me laugh snort when suggesting the link to send money… y’all are so genuine and fun!
Stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago, I can’t get enough of these beautiful homes you rehabilitate (those tiled chimneys ! Those pocket doors,I mean , so gorgeous! And those trims !) and your energy , enthousiasm, kindness, humour and curiosity are so precious , do not change a thing , we need as much human warmth as possible in those days 😁 love all your dogs too ! Cheers from France 🇫🇷😊
Just love this video because I'm a fairly new watcher and this gives newbies a great introduction to you all! I'm currently restoring a 1900 Folk Farmhouse in Sparta, GA and loving it! Loving you too! Great job and so glad I found you! xxoo
Wow! Another great vid! I discovered y'all just after Louise was purchased. I'm from Coastal SC & rehabbed a 1950s cottage before moving to Aiken before Covid. During Covid I explored down to Louisville & saw the aftermath of Louise .Y'all have been SUCH an inspiration to me. U gave me the inspiration to buy an 1895 old lady in Edgefield SC last year. I'm a handy old lady with an open minded general contractor! This is probably a project of a lifetime & what fun!! Please don't stop all these wonderful vids. Not a week goes by when I don't tell someone about Our Restoration Nation. !!!
I live in Huntington WV, which is next to the little town of Guyandotte. It was built and settled before Huntington was established. Guyandotte played a big part in the Civil War. It's a long story, so I'm not getting into the history. But I do want to let you know there are a couple beautiful Victorian homes that needs much love and care. I had belonged to the Guyandotte Improvement Historical Association and we longed for someone to obtain these and bring them back to their glory. Believe me, if I had the money I would have taken them on in a heart beat! I love watching your videos. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Been watching your videos about a year but did not discover this synopsis video until today. I love all the “old ladies” and how you save them. Blessings to you and all your ‘restoration projects’.
Laine & Kevin, you two are such a great team. I just love how smoothly you work together & the kindness and respect you show each other. I have learned so much from you and I am loving every minute of it. It's funny/odd to me that people will comment on Laine's clothes or hair or whatever but never tell Kevin he looks tired or bruised. It puzzles me because Laine would be beautiful in sack cloth & ashes!! 🤣 We all need to learn to be much more kind. I will watch anything you put up but I also enjoy the old home tours. Thanks for all you do!
I think I’ve said this before, but I only found you a few weeks and watched you working on Pearl. We live in MS not far from Natchez and our families grew up there. Hubby and I have been married 10 years and he has always told me his dream was to by a house and do all the work of “fixing up” ourselves. So when I found you I said “GET IN HERE YOU HAVE TO WATCH WITH ME!” We are LOVING these videos and living vicariously through y’all. 😉 Thank you for allowing us along on your adventures!
Yes, we people DO want to look at these old houses with you. 😉 Thank you so much for what you do! AND i love learning how to restore old wood, etc. As well as learning the specific details for the different styles of historic houses. I, too, think that the Melly bathroom is my favorite work of yours. I'm a new viewer and am loving this summarization video. Thank you!!!!
WHAT A JOURNEY OF RESTORATION AND BRINGING US ALONG WITH YOU WATCHING U DO ALL THE HARD WORK AN SITTING BACK NICE AND COMFORTABLE IS GREAT ROCK ON YOU TWO
How beautiful Louise was! I would like to see more material about her, because she was exceptional. We have been working on our 1911 home for 34 years. We know how hard the work is. Thanks for your videos. From Montevideo, Uruguay (South America).
Laine and Kevin, thank you thank you for your imagination, tenacity, and love of architectural history to bring us this awesome collection of videos you have presented. Keep up your positivity and excellent work, and give all of your dogs a hug from us!
Ahhh Louise 🥹💕 Still breaks my heart that she is gone. But it was not in vain because she brought us YOU GUYS. And what would we do without Kevin and Laine! 🥰
I have watch you guys since the beginning on your UA-cam channel off & on. Sometimes playing catchup, watching 2, 3 or more at a time. You 2 are fabulous & wonderful people. I've watched these videos not realizing my mouth has dropped wide open!!! I have been brought to tears at the beauty of these historic buildings & want to thank you for contributions, to bring some of these back to their original glory. And also, just for the tours & showing us their splendor.
See, I really fell in love with you guys over the letters and things left in the Monticello home. Stories like that are always forgotten and there are people today who have NO IDEA of the consequences of their selfish acts around War, Country, Government and those left to grieve those who made the supreme sacrifice. I loved how you felt when you uncovered the "garbage" left there. It made me sad to the core that her family were not interested in the history that she suffered before her final marriage. We are so stupid.
Laine, all I can say is, This home is so beautiful. Everyone is and all I can say is, ‘I just love, love, love these old magnificently built homes’. I wish I could follow you around to each home and volunteer my time to help restore these old houses. So as your caption says. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ‘Journey With us’ is the next best thing on UA-cam.
Laine, you are so beautiful! Negative people are just jealous that you can throw jeans and a sweatshirt on and look absolutely glamorous. I've watched all your you tube shows and love them. You have the most beautiful, mellow voice... I'm surprised you haven't been approached by PBS to narrate their shows!
As long as you and Kevin are in video we will watch! I am so glad I found you! I build dollhouses and thought you would give me ideas for them. But , love 💘 watching! Thank you so much!
I'm here for the house restoration. While you guys are adorable, it goes without saying doing work on a house will get you looking busted, it makes the experience more authentic. ❤❤❤
I so 💖Love💖 ALL Y’all’s videos and your passion for preservation of all these beautiful ladies. Forget the critical/haters…we love what y’all are doin!!
I appreciated this content a lot when Lanie said there are only 2 people working on the project plus an editor. I mean this type of content and work is laborous and seeing every outcome of your project from houses close to biting the dusk to transforming it to look like a house in glorious condition is just so amazing. The amount of work versus the amount of crew and the finish product prooves that this guy and gal knows what they're doing. We'd love to see more contents like this!💖
Remember that kerfuffle with the guy who called you a moron for your comment that Louise was NOT a tear down? That was on the original post where Louise was highlighted on Abandoned Homes America as for sale by the Georgia Historic Trust. Then you came back with your firecracker post that you had actually BOUGHT Louise and Saving the Big Little House was born! Serendipity led me to seeing that and being curious enough to check it out further. I guess I was witness to the ORN genesis and wow what an enjoyable ride it has been ever since! Love this recap video - a lovely reminder of the tremendous variety, quality, uniqueness and authenticity of the content and life journey of two rather remarkable people!
I found your channel a few months ago and I’m still working my way through all the videos. I love the old houses and watching your restoration. You inspired us to visit Natchez last month for our 38th wedding anniversary and we enjoyed it so much!
People need to be nice to you...I can't get over how people feel like they can say anything they want on social media and it is ok....no! People should still be polite and use the social graces . You look beautiful and we appreciate that you both share your work with us. Thank you!
I am not on Instagram or TikTok so I am very happy that you have found a home here on YT! I love your videos and particularly appreciate this one that gives the history of this channel. I am looking forward to watching the journey as you renovate more historic homes.
Love the story behind the story. Liane I never noticed what you were wearing I was so mesmerized by the property and what you were saying. Thank you so much for what you two do and that you share it with us. I have always loved architecture but you have brought new knowledge and light to that love. What a wonderful gift and legacy you are sharing. Kevin great job on the video and editing I appreciate the behind the scenes/camera work you do. BTW the bath scene in Janie was the best thank you so much for leaving that in and not on the cutting room floor. I could so relate to the end of the day/weekend misshape I was laughing and crying at the same time. And last but not least I agree with the other comments about Louise… I cry for her and you every time I see it. But look what she has started and isn’t it wonderful. In a way this channel is Louise’s legacy.
Great recap! So hard to pick a favorite tour house, though the one with the puppet theater was so unique. I started watching This Old House back in the day, and am an unrepentant "looky-loo" whenever a historic house is involved. Your content has a great balance; you are so well spoken, and knowledgeable about architecture. So many of the things you come across are issues I've faced, so that feeling of community is definitely there. I enjoy sharing my stories and reading the comments of others. There will always be accidents and goofs, but I love that you keep it real. Negative personal remarks are from fools. You two are great.
These are awesome..but I must say..when I watched the one when you going through Louise after she burned...I cried with you. All these houses are awesome.
I think you both are beautiful inside and out. I have learned so much from yall and I enjoy all your videos! Keep on trucking, filming, teaching, and being your beautiful selves.❤️MUCH APPRECIATED!😬😘
Love watching you Laine and Kevin, can't hardly wait for Thursday! I'll admit that when I need a Laine and Kevin fix I listen to TWISTED SISTER HISTORY!🎸🎸🎸 Please keep doing exactly what you do!!
Love you guys and you wear whatever is comfortable. I will still be watching and admiring what you are saving. I lived in Asheville, N.C. and Atlanta, GA and had the opportunity to visit many historical homes in Charleston and Savannah. How I love the South and long to go back. Keep saving those beauties and look forward to more videos sharing the history. Norma in Boise, ID
Love you guys! Congrats on the success! But really though Laine-without those silly comments, we would have never had the joy of Tiara Tuesdays. And that is everything!
I love your videos! Just ignore negative comments, life's too short. You both are great and work so well together, we learn so much from your videos and you are a blessing!
I didn't realize I'd started watching so close to the beginning of your channel! It's such a pleasure each Thursday to spend a bit of time with you both and these gorgeous homes.
Thank you for sharing your restoration work and tours of homes. You do a beautiful job. It encourages those who have old homes to preserve their beauty.
Laine what you wear doesn't matter especially if you are remodeling it is a dirty work, but the information you ha e is amazing, thank you for sharing you goods and bads with Kevin. God Bless you.
I have been watching you on UA-cam since Melly and Janie (I think!). I loved your first home tour so much I would pause it and take screenshots. I especially liked the upstairs porch on the front and one day hope to redo the roof over our front porch to include that second floor balcony. Love watching y’all’s channel! So glad I found y’all!
Laine, I don't care what you wear when filming. It can be a ball cap or a tiara, because you deliver amazing content, I admire, and I am inspired by the work and projects you and Kevin do. Thank you.
Yes!!! Absolutely 💯 agree with you
I want to see the tiara and hear how you two met. Bob and I have poopers for our stupid mental health too! 13 infertility procedures and 5 miscarriages. We do our best.
don't pay attention to critical people. The two of you are charming and delightful!!! we love you!!
Everytime I see the footage of Louise I tear up. She was such a beautiful home and we just don't have that kind of architecture in homes anymore.
Everybody's coming down here to read your comment but they're not looking at the comment they're looking at the cameo photo to the side! lol!
Me, too, Arlena. Hurts my heart.
@@KatharineHolmes why what happened to that house?
@@livinglife8333 Are you talking about Louise? If you heard them talking about losing the house just watch the whole video and you'll see it.
Me too
Laine…I don’t care what anyone else has to say about you, you are AWESOME at doing the home tours. I totally enjoy those tours! I learn so much from you on those tours. Laine, you would make a flour sack look gorgeous. Change nothing! You guys are perfect 🤩
I am so sorry there are haters but I truly love living vicariously through you two.
YES TO BLOOPER REELS AT THE END!!!!!!!!
The new you tubes are great, but the first ones are really priceless. Ad really relate to the DIY home restoration population! Thanks Laine and Kevin.
Ihave watched several channels of showcasing old homes and their restorations. I find yours the most thought out, better preparation regarding the architecture and period. Your knowledge is so appreciated and lends to a better appreciation of the homes. I can tell you love what you are doing. Thank you.
Mary thank you SO much for your kind remark. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate it!
RESTORATION NATION is a blessing in a world of sorrow and insanity!!! 🦋💙🦋🦋💙🦋 Wishing you well!!! 🦋💙🦋
The main reason I love this channel is because I can see everything you do is a labor of love!!!!!!!!
I LOVE when you travel and show us old homes!!! I am so glad there is a group of people like me!
❤️❤️❤️
I just love your channel,Im always checkin for new videos! Keep up the great work !And Laine your always beavtiful! I just adore you two, blessed be!!
I love y'alls content. The only issue I have is y'all make me homesick for the South.
Thank you so much Firtini!!
We’ve rehab( not restored) several old houses. When I saw those flames, tears 😭 came to my eyes!
Galveston and Charleston please 🥺🙏😂
Thank you both for ALL that you do! 💖
Thank you for preserving “our history”. It’s so important.
I only know you from UA-cam!!! 🦋 Thank-you for this channel! 💙 Still sad about Louise!!! 🦋💙🦋
😃😃😃
As long as you and Kevin are in video we will watch! I am so glad I found you! I build dollhouses and thought you would give me ideas for them. But , love 💘 watching! Thank you so much!
Savannah is my favorite historical town to visit! I have stayed there twice. Love touring the old grand homes and the water front.
You look pretty good on your blue dressed
You two are just the cutest!! Laine you do amazing home tours and Kevin is a wonderful cameraman…you are a great team!♥️🎥🏡
No flack here! Bring on the tours! Absolutely love it!
I love that you are genuine people with a passion for old houses. ❤️
I really enjoy your videos like that you restore rather than modernizing everything.
These are awesome..but I must say..when I watched the one when you going through Louise after she burned...I cried with you. All these houses are awesome.
I think you always look great just ignore the negative people.
Hey beautiful people! You are amazing and I watch all your vids! Love this episode! Thank you!
Keep saving those beauties and look forward to more videos
sharing the history. Norma in Boise, ID
That bathroom tile! Oh my, still just floored by that and the Cabinets, that was a fabulous job! (Puns encouraged here)
😂😂😂
Love you guys! Congrats on the success!
But really though Laine-without those silly comments, we would have never had the joy of Tiara Tuesdays. And that is everything!
I found your video last week and love them. My ex and I have restored two homes and I love every minute of it. Thank you for sharing .
