You can use a Med size wooden DOWEL Also if you tie a knot on the rope at the point where you want to hang your hat it will hold the clip and hat in place so THEY WON'T SLID DOWN the rope And if you use a slip knot then you dont have to tie knots on the rope that will be attached to the pipe / dowel

Depending on the hat! I found that it was not good for my very stiff brimmed hats, so for those I just hang from hooks on the wall. It doesn’t hurt hats that are straw or felt/wool but floppy
Lol sorry you said length. I’m not quite sure exactly how long it is I bought a longer one but realized it was too long so i had a friend cut it down for me. I think it’s about 2.5 feet?

Love the Hat - Trick what a great solution for the wide brimmed - having them in boxes would have required an additional apartment.

It’s just a copper pipe! They had a bunch of options at Home Depot but I decided to go with one that I knew had a big enough hole to fit a rope thru

Good hats will get marks from clothespins.
I only do this with my straw hats or more floppy ones. The super stiff brim ones hang on hooks on a different wall :)

It could, depending on the brim. I only use this for my straw hats or the hats that have a floppier brim, I don’t hang my wool flat brim hats this way
