That was a fun race Dave, I knew you had the fastest pace in the group and I tried to push you and follow in the hope to secure at least a sixth place. Unfortunately I got caught in traffic in T1 and couldn’t take any more risks. Great fun nonetheless, props to Oskar too, he had a lot of patience and respected the yellow flag everytime.

Leonardo is a dirty driver. Dude tried to push you off anytime you were near him at T1 and blocked you several times in reaction to your moves on the brakes.
5:41 this is exactly why I never volunteer myself to take the outside line in T1 at Daytona. You’re lucky 🍀 you weren’t taken out. Andrea earned a steak dinner!
You got a xxxx for avoiding an incident, skillfully I might add, 15:30 . This is the problem with all racing Sims even gt7.. Tricky programming issue..
This is the second Daytona race with the Cayman I've seen this week.

iRacing is handing out incident points like it's Halloween candy. I have replays saved from the past couple of weeks of absolutely ridiculous 4x's. I even got demoted out of A license with the past two weeks of racing.

Dear Dave, I have a hardware question and I hope you find the time to help me with this. I believe I’ve got sort of the same button box as you appear to have on your rig. I am not a real creative guy and would like to know two things:
1. Would you share your key mapping for the buttons? You have so much more experience than I do so you thought of this already.
2. How did you assemble your buttonbox to your rig? I believe I got a 100x100 VESA preparation on the back of the buttonbox, but there were no screws or bolts included!

Leonardo is the thing of nightmares.... A racer that drive as if they are the only car on track regardless of situation and who is around.
I don't know I've seen a lot of Caymens in the races I've done. Give the Aston a go. Its being ignored as well in the lower splits
I feel dave about the busstop line, my pace this week in gt3 has been very good and hit 4k IR, but man i cannot for the life of me get a consistent truely good line through there, racing in a tight train with dirty air slipstream stuff doesn't really help either it feels like lol

Dave, the part you dont know how it happens at 39:53 is simple: Single screen and very tight FoV. You cant even see your whole bonnet with some settings from the cockpit. And probably missed spotter call or does not use it.

I am not so kind with my appraisal of Leonardo’s technique. The widest McLaren in Florida. I’m still learning, but I pride myself on race craft, which incorporates predictability, respect for your surroundings, and awareness. Defending? Yes. But many times he defended starting up high and washed down low pinching off the attack. If I recognize I’m slower than someone I won’t hold them up. The results work themselves out. Maybe that’s why I’m a 1700 driver.
I totally get not wanting to race GT3s at Daytona. In GT3's I find overtaking around Daytona kinda hard unless people make big mistakes. People know the track well after all these years and there are so few overtaking friendly areas. I normally just get my weekly race credit and forget GT3's for the rest of the week. Good thing IMSA is at Long Beach this week. Plenty of fun to be had in that race this week.

that the big problem currently on iracing imo. A driver with 2.5K LESS Irating should not be able to block forever by just.... sitting on the racing line. i mean... if it wasnt for the mistakes he did at bus stop no one could overtake. there is not enough grip to extract from the car making 2k pacing like 4K and 5K pacing like 8K etc... all this result in races where ppl constantly rubbing cars desperatly trying to make an overstake that should be easy. kudos to ppl pushing and nicely managed Leandro^^
Real GT racing is this way too with ams being able to go deep under braking with ABS. These cars are kind of awful for racing. That said Leonardo was faster than his irating, wouldn’t be surprised if he DNFs a lot

Hi Dave, great race, please, how do I see the carnage after the race on the replay? I never knew how to see
in the entries list where you can chose different "subservers" you can chose "crashes" or smth similar i think...
Start the replay and lick ctrl numpad 1 & 3 to cycle through 👍
Control-3 to jump to the next "incident" Control-1 to jump to the previous one. Just choose the camera angle you want (usually chase or far chase is what people like)
Here we see the difference between someone who drives with their ego (Leonardo) vs someone who drives with their head (Dave).

also I have a question regarding RaceLab, I think if someone, then you can help :) got 3 monitors, set it up as the basic guide shows. my problem is that if the Windows taskbar is not hidden, then the whole screen is moved upwards with the height of the taskbar. do i have to hide it and works as intended or I've done something incorrectly?

I always tight click the taskbar, taskbar options and select auto hide the taskbar in desktop mode. Disappears for me 👍

I did one of these today and I ran out of gas at the bus stop. My spotter said 2 min of fuel left but I think it was off a bit. Came out of the bus stop and the car just die. The guy behind me plowed right into the back of me as he was not expecting me to come to a dead stop and neither was I.

A lot of solid racing on your channel Dave, I also like it that you're much better than me, but kinda not an alien, just a really solid and practiced driver whose level i like to think I could reach some day with a lot of focus and dedication. Just so I can have these kinds of races :D. Also, the nerves that you have! It's inspiring in so many ways. Do you have any real life racing experience?

I respectfully disagree with your statement on GT3, i find it very intense, and it may not take alot to make it around the track. but it takes a lot to survive a race

I don't understand iRacing. Where's the countdown timer??? Why are there 2 leaderboards??? No radar??? This is elitist shit! As a novice, there's noticable prejudice to keep me down and not learning. No tire pressure/temp app??? Hell I bet you couldn't tell if your suspension was bottoming out even though it's computational data. Forza Motorsports had so much potential. Too bad FM was released a few years before it was ready. I personally believe Forza Motorsports could have been the harbinger of a complete elevation in information available to the player if not for their total fail release. I'm hoping Forza Motorsports will release another game in 2 or 3 years that will be complete. Yeah, gamer physics in FM but so what? All the data available will be revolutionary and will force snobby iRacing and Kunos to think more to please us.
I feelz so bad... "It doesn't really take a lot of skill to get 'round the track pretty competitively..." I'm 3-5 secs off pace in ACC GT3! doh! I don't have skillz...😢 Is GT3 THAT eazy? I'm just suck! But I do appreciate what you said about the GT4 cars. That's why I'm try-harding to do NO TC in ACC GT3! SO MUCH FUN!!! (It's the e-sports meta to turn TC off in ACC.) And I'm do 1960's classic race cars through Nords in AC to prep me for the comming Nords in ACC in March!!! Happy days soon, since Forza Motorsports was a debacle that I won't buy until 2026. 🥲
