      Before glue it, sending bottom of this transition with sand paper for better bonding and use Pl400 or construction glue as well. Thanks.

    If that's laminate flooring, it will expand and you did not leave any expansion gap. The floor planks may pop up depending on the magnitude of expansion, depending on humidity and temperature variation.

    The hot glue ended up on the tile side not laminate which I thought you said would have the hot glue. But that aside I question how long any glue will hold over time especially on something you walk on.

    • @broglang9102
      @broglang9102 5 років тому

      I think you are right, I've been doing flooring for quite a while. This glue doesn't look like it will hold very long. There's only one glue I know of that I think might hold. That expensive shit that mixes two different chemicals in the nozzle you screw on.

    • @n8dogger327
      @n8dogger327 5 років тому +2

      That hot glue was only for temporary hold down while the construction adhesive cures. No glue on the laminate side to allow for expansion

    • @siskens470
      @siskens470 5 років тому

      That was to hold the transition in place while the construction glue dries. He said the laminate is a floating floor so it needs to be able to move and therefore do not want to glue it.

    What if the tile flooring is much lower than the laminate flooring? By say 4mm difference ?

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  10 місяців тому

      Use a reducer or match the height of both floors.
      Also, you can watch this video, I did this levelling to match the height for the floor to install the aluminum transition. - ua-cam.com/video/iyjqP9YgPrA/v-deo.html

  • @ryand7067

    Think this would work between tile and hardwood that are 1/8” different height?

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  Рік тому

      No, you have to take regular transition with different height, it’s call reducer.

      Hi, on the T- leg has edge, which is don’t give it glue properly to the tile. Now I use 4 inch angle grinder, for cutting off this edge and make rough bottom T moulding for better bonding.
