Honestly that's the smartest idea to make a sandwich or something as your main course for travel days. Since you even have a microwave in the cab to use for heating up it doesn't even have to be a sandwich. And just to stop by like a Walmart or something and you can run in and buy the chips/snacks and if you run out of drinks in the cab then you can just buy a case or two of whatever. Especially since that 5th wheel and tractor trailer cab is your entire life. It won't go far and you can use the remainder once you get to your destination. seriously the ability of having all your possessions with you. Just simply is amazing.
It's a lifestyle that we enjoy Katie! You're spot-on with your comment. We actually carry some cups of soup in the truck that we can heat up on those trips that go longer than anticipated.
Check out the Polaris Ranger Northstar 1000 with heat and AC. I owned a 2018 and it is an absolutely awesome machine and keeps you comfortable no matter the weather! Love your new Shyrock lot and enjoy every minute when there.
The one thing that jumped out at me in this video was that your doors were open on the RV. I am going a different route and having a winter Home Base - an RV-Casita - being built in Mission, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley. Due to the extreme heat, I haven't been able to have my doors open since May, and the build is taking considerably longer than anticipated. Your location looks a WHOLE lot more comfortable at this time of year!! Enjoyed the video, thanks!!
Oh yes....we open the doors whenever we can! The Mission area is beautiful. We spent our first winter there and loved it, but it was so far from family and friends we decided not to purchase anything. Enjoy your new casita and stay safe.
Something I have been doing for 25 years now sprays the gaskets on the slide-outs. I spray them when they come out. If we stay for 2 weeks or more I spray them again when we go to leave.
LOL....she's actually been in the driver's seat a couple of times now Lawrence! Stay tuned. When she gets comfortable with it we'll definitely share the experience!
HI guys! We prefer our home made meals - restaurants better be good for us to go or for us to be out of energy and do a quick pick up like we did last night on our way back from our daughter's looking at land with them. We have a simialr aluminum step in front of our RV steps. Just like that you are at your home base! YAY Updates! Oh I so want to come see and get a good lot but have to talk hubby into also! I am always ahead of him in ideas. LOL! So sad the Forest Fires if done by nature o.k. if done by people NOT! Good to have a place to visit during these times of covid! That is one of the things that is on our travel lists is to get our fill of small town rodeos so we don't miss our ranch life too much. You two are having a great 2021 summer!
@@SuiteTravels Only in the early mornings. Then the after noon has peaked to 103 with a heat index of 115 degrees. Cold front coming Sunday 68 morning, 80's in the afternoon. In a couple of weeks temperatures will eventually be cooler. Enjoy traveling!!

Great video footage from the cab! Always love seeing the mountains. As your going down into the valleys I am thinking thank goodness for the HDT and the exhaust brake. Nothing like setting the speed and just coasting down at a controlled speed with 20,000 plus lbs behind you in total control. Love the white interior more and more each time we see the rig. Do you know how many miles your HDT Diesel gets on one gallon of DEF additive? I guess you have to figure the DEF price into the per gallon price you pay for Diesel. Looks like DEF runs around $4.25 per gallon. Thanks

Hello from U.K,very interesting to see your rig and lifestyle.I retired from the heavy haulage industry 6 years ago and bought a motorhome to continue my passion for traveling in Europe.Things are on a bit smaller scale here,my van is only 23ft long,but has all the comforts of home and my daily mode of transport when camping is a bicycle or kyack,but that apart our lifestyle is very similar,until the double whammy of the pandemic and U.K. leaving the European Union,unfortunately both have made travel more problematic,I would usually spend my winters in S.Italy or Spain but this has not been possible for the last 2 years.We pray that things will improve and I can return to my nomadic lifestyle soon.Good luck and safe travels,always a 👍on your vlogs

Thanks LRS! Yes, our lot is the only lot in the development that allows two RVs. We have our normal site and a split driveway for another which currently houses a park model home.
Yes Mike. We purchased the one lot in the development that has two RV hookups. The corporation had the park model on one of our RV sites and we have an agreement with them on the use while on our lot.

Great video, as always! I have three dumb questions: 1. What speed do you set the cruise? 2. What stage do you normally set your Jake brake, 1, 2 or 3? 3. Last but not least, what camping memberships do you utilize, Good Sams, etc.? Your lot is beautiful!! Peace!
Thanks BigDave. We set our cruise at 65 most of the time. We set the jake depending on the conditions, but usually utilize stage 1, unless it's a big hill. We use Thousand Trails, FMCA and Escapees.
Yup, Shyrock was too successful!! I thought I was going to snag a visitor site and take a tour...NOPE. Danielle said there wouldn't be any visitor spots available until late September. She offered to have us boondock which is fine...if we hadn't already spent a couple of weeks in the forest. So we're holed up in Kalispell until our next leg takes us to Helena on Sunday. We got the phase III email and looks as though we'll be priced out now. :-/

What kind of dash cam would you recommend? Do you have to turn it on before driving, or does it automatically turn on and start recording while you drive? I've heard there are some that can do that, but are there some you would recommend to someone who is very poor right now...?

The park model is owned by the corporation Susan and we have an agreement for it's use on our lot. At some point it will be moved and open the other site for another RV.
Hello. Thank you for the info. I was wondering about the Berkeley and towel rack in the sink .Do they ride there without falling down? Also it looked like you have a coffee pot on the counter, as your facing your kitchen , on the right hand side on a shelf. Does it stay there too? The slide comes in in front of the coffee counter. Thanks LRS! Yes, our lot is the only lot in the development that allows two RVs. We have our normal site and a split driveway for another which currently houses a park model home.

Yes Mike. We purchased the one lot in the development that has two RV hookups. The corporation had the park model on one of our RV sites and we have an agreement with them on the use while on our lot.

Great video, as always! I have three dumb questions: 1. What speed do you set the cruise? 2. What stage do you normally set your Jake brake, 1, 2 or 3? 3. Last but not least, what camping memberships do you utilize, Good Sams, etc.?

Thanks BigDave. We set our cruise at 65 most of the time. We set the jake depending on the conditions, but usually utilize stage 1, unless it's a big hill. We use Thousand Trails, FMCA and Escapees.
Yup, Shyrock was too successful!! I thought I was going to snag a visitor site and take a tour...NOPE. Danielle said there wouldn't be any visitor spots available until late September. She offered to have us boondock which is fine...if we hadn't already spent a couple of weeks in the forest. So we're holed up in Kalispell until our next leg takes us to Helena on Sunday. We got the phase III email and looks as though we'll be priced out now. :-/
Oh that's too bad Tony. There are a number of lots still in the works....maybe down the road.

We definitely do our research Paul. Take a look at the video we shared a few weeks ago regarding trip planning. That should answer some questions.
What kind of dash cam would you recommend? Do you have to turn it on before driving, or does it automatically turn on and start recording while you drive? I've heard there are some that can do that, but are there some you would recommend to someone who is very poor right now...?
We're using the Viofo A119 V3 currently and so far we're very happy with it. It does turn on automatically.
Jim what’s the weather at shyrock on a winter time is there a lot of snow?
The "average" snowfall at Shyrock is around 60" Joe....but we don't stay there to measure it!

Did you purchase the park model next to your pad as well?
The park model is owned by the corporation Susan and we have an agreement for it's use on our lot. At some point it will be moved and open the other site for another RV.

Hello. Thank you for the info. I was wondering about the Berkeley and towel rack in the sink .Do they ride there without falling down? Also it looked like you have a coffee pot on the counter, as your facing your kitchen , on the right hand side on a shelf. Does it stay there too? The slide comes in in front of the coffee counter. Yes Beverly the Berkey rides just fine in the sink. Our coffee maker stays in it's location while we travel as well. Thanks for coming along!
Where did you buy your tumblers?
We have a number of them Charlie, but we picked up the DRV tumblers when we were at the factory last summer.

Why have you not put the snap pads on your levelers ?
To be honest.....we haven't seen the benefit of them Tony. We use the Quality Plastics jack pads and have been very happy with them.
Hi how often do you repack your bearings on trailer I do mine twice a year or depends on how much I use it mine is a older one just under 15000 lbs 34ft 5th wheel
We pack our wheel bearings once a year Dave and that seems to work fine for us.
Are you keeping the patio home
For now - yes. We have an agreement with the corporation and it's working pretty well.
We are going back in a month and Danielle has a park model for us to rent for the weekend.

Not too forward at all Jeff. Jim worked for the FAA and Kellie was a stay at home mom until the kids got older, then she worked for the local school district.

Having those hydraulic legs covered with grease attracts dust and dirt. Much better to spray them with wd40 before you use them.
