Usually I tumble and roll over when I'm about to fall. I still haven't mastered the headstand. But, one thing that's been very helpful is learning how to fall before learning how to do the headstand. I've repeatedly tried just tumbling and falling over that now I'm not that scared to lose my balance when I'm practicing. Cheers to this video.
Thank you Viru, very clear instructions, all your videos are helpful for me to improve my practice, i will be confident of doing the poses after watching your videos.
see those wrists and hands holding together that hurts when you fall cos mine are not so flexible. any recommendations, I actually think that it was my head that rolled over them and totally crushed them to bits
Very nice Viru! I do sirsana freely since 2017 but I always have that slight fear at the back of my mind due to my one bad fall hurt my neck and shoulder and back and could not do for half a year thereafter. So this memory is still prevalent. I should start practising how to fall safely! But it is so scary. My arms are weak and I have had two elbow fractures, wrist and shoulder injuries! That is the main reason.
My problem is that when i fall from headstand, only my ring fingers are pressed and no other fingers. It is so painful and i have stopped doing headstand for 2 days. I want to continue but fingers takes 3 or 4 days time to relieve from the pain. Please tell me what to do
Hello Viru, thank you for this helpful video! but I got a question, how do you fall so light on your feet? When my feet arch over and fall over on the floor it was loud...
This looks great and easy, but i tried it and i just can’t do it. I’m too scary that i will fall to my back or something and i dont know what to do. It’s so hard. Maybe headstand it just isn’t for me:( I’m really sad...
Zofie i’m currenly trying to learn to do a headstand and i’m making some progress day by day. Usually i have someone to watch over me and catch my feet when i’m falling. But i’m so scared to try to do it alone. I don’t want to break my neck so i came here to see how i can properly fall. Anyways, i guess he’s really flexible in the back so that helps to fall gently and not like a heavy log.
kakolukia try it in front of a couch! Facing the couch, find your balance first, and then try to get one foot to touch the couch, the other foot will follow and fall on the couch. Then kick one leg up to the starting position to get out of the position. At first you may wobble a lot bit its soooo much easier and less scary than falling on the floor (its like a super assisted bridge good for people who are getting started or not too flexible)
Guys, i have problems with my back (cervical spine) for a long time, so i decided, that this is not the best thing for me now. Maybe one day :D But thank you :)
@@lorenapadro9822 i don't have a couch but almost 2 weeks ago i managed to do my first headstand. I still have to work on my core muscles though and perfecting it but now i have the confidence that i can do it. Anyways, thanks for the advice

Thanks for the tips. Using my arms made the pose much easier and took the weight off my neck. 😀
It's like half way into a handstand. Thank you so much 😊😊

I feel like i would break everything with this headstand
Why do I fall without control? I had been practicing yesterday and I broke my little toe :D
Very helpful! Thanks!
