i totally agree with this list. I really liked Immaculate (and First Omen); Salem's Lot was a worthy effort that just needed 20-30 more minutes; Speak No Evil was a good take on the original. The change in the ending was definitely more action movie like and "Hollywood Ending" but the acting is top notch and makes the movie. *I just realized that i pretty much parroted what you said.
Immaculate with Sydney Sweeney is definitely underrated and imo way better than that Garbage The First Omen that shits all over the canon of the Original movies.
If The First Omen "wins", it's not because it "has a background to it", but because it's just much, MUCH better than Immaculate, in terms of directing, writing and acting. Nell Tiger Free in The First Omen, here's a performance. I have nothing against Sweeney, her performance in Reality was one of the best of 2023 in my opinion, but in Immaculate, Jesus, she looks dead inside 99% of the time (the good percent is the ending), it's like watching paint dry.
I seem to find that most movies lean to towards being underrated on the whole these days. And I think that’s because of a trend rather than reality. I get the sense that often it’s just “cool” to call a movie total garbage., when often it is far from it. Have to give Barry kudos here as is real and can give any movie a lift where there are positives. Saying that, and on the contrary, I tend to more enjoy negative reviews more, as they lower expectations. Sometimes enjoy a “bad” movie as a result. For the those giving “The Crow” 1/10 clearly didn’t see the Furlong one. Also saw “Kraven” get 1 star from a review, ouch, haven’t seen it yet, but even though it looks like no Oscar winner, surely it’s not as bad as a one star. The actual worst movies generally don’t get watched anyway. Camp Pleasant Lake anyone? Can be fun but should we really see “worst movie” lists from those who aren’t really watching the bad ones anyway? For a movie to get 1/10 from me I’d have to turn it off after 5 min. Maybe we are all just spoiled with volume. Just my thoughts. And as always a great video from Barry. 🍻
Thank you so much for covering this my friend🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏 I appreciate everything you cover with that INCREDIBLE accent 🥰🙏❤️
McAvoy caught me off guard, much like Hugh Grant in Heretic, at just how good he was!
Speak no evil was fantastic, loved it.
The First Omen is so underrated
First Omen Sucked
@kingslayer2999 sure
Thank you for sharing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Never got round to watching immaculate so might get that on tonight 👍
They took all the dread and suspense from 'Salems Lot' and replaced it with jump scares. The original was so much better. Happy New Year Barry!

I've never streamed in the afternoon, buddy. But hoping to get some sort of a plan sorted for 2025.

Agreed! As much as there aren't many 5-star movies, there aren't many 1-star movies either. People liked to over-exaggerate a lot.
I like the video, but Salem's lot is shite, there might be a better cut out there...this isn't it. Tobe Hooper's version is the one.
I'm not comparing it to the original. I feel like this was fighting a losing battle from the very beginning.
Have you watched Nosferatu yet? 👀
Nope! It doesn't come out here until January 1st.
No no no Speak No Evil was shit no no no
And Salems Lot? Brother come on 😂
That's why they're on the list. Underrated.
@@WolfmansGotNards no they're not. Properly rated. Retitle this movies that are fine to awful
@AaronTheDogMMA retitle it to "Aaron disagrees" 😂
@@WolfmansGotNards that works too!
Good balanced political points
