it's especially touching seeing Teller's reactions to some of the acts on Fool Us. I've seen him brought to tears on couple occasions. He's such a genuinely nice person. (though I've never met him.)
I really hope that he understands how well he did fool Teller with the cups and balls trick. It looked from an outside observer that Teller knew the whole thing when in reality it was a great performance.

Seeing with your own eyes the grandiose ancient structures, battered and faded by the sands of time. The great men who built them, long gone and long forgotten. And yet, they're still almost as imposing as they must have been when they were first built, thousands of years ago. Egypt is an old country with an exceptional ability to make you feel... small, in a way.

Teller speaks when he's not playing the part of Teller the magician, it's a thing he adopted for his stage persona because it made people pay more attention when he was first starting out. Watch them do talks if you want to see him talk more.
I lived in Egypt for 4 years. The whole bottled water thing for tooth brushing, etc, lasted for about one week before I relaxed. And BTW, I never had an issue throughout my years there. (Eating like the locals... not hotel food, which can actually be riskier.)

The audience was sitting on a rotating platform and the statue was hidden behind one of the pillars that looked transparent but wasn't. We had great seats for a Philadelphia show where they ended with the cups and balls. Using clear cups made no difference at all. Just top-level entertainment. By the time we made it out to the lobby, both were there thanking people in person for coming. Teller gave me a very warm, "hello" and "thank you" which I will never forget. Great chaps.

Should've tried the local food, it's excellent. Went to Cairo last year for 10 days. This brought back some fond memories. Cairo is a wonderful metropolis. Packed with sights, history, and lovely people.

and "Fool Us" is born … who knew that the best way to fool them was to trick them into only thinking you tricked them but you just switched witch ball was under what cup.
I watch this only for Karam. around 19:50 when he picks up the end cup, you can see him pick up the ball with his last two fingers and curl them as if to palm it. THEN as the cup comes down his fingers stop, he deposits the ball back under the cup and curls his fingers as if he is still palming the ball. I believe he can do the trick better but he didn't know how knowledgeable Tellers is so he made the pantomime broad so Teller wouldn't miss it. However Teller saw Karam drop his two fingers while the cup was still in the air and politely looked away to allow for the palm, and he missed the move entirely. Karam performed the palm much more discretely earlier in the video, it was broad on purpose. It is so subtle because he is miming such a subtle movement to begin with. SO SMOOTH! I can talk about it, I know exactly how he does it, but dammit he is good!
That's the beauty of the trick. Even Teller couldn't figure out how he got it right when the guy performed it in front of him. He was sure the three balls are in the middle cup not one on each cup.

It is fun to watch the tricks without knowing how their done, but in my humble opinion, it is FAR MORE IMPRESSIVE to know how it is done so that one can marvel at the exceptionally polished skills and moves that can only be gained by THOUSANDS of hours of practice!!

Once I was sitting in the kitchen just eating my dinner and I saw two pigeons on the roof of a neighboring building. I started laughinhg so hard that appeared as if I was crying. Sometins those episeodes can run for like 30 minutes or more.
@The Bee Guy when he loads the potato into the cup, it was placed into the cup with an uneven side to the potato facing the surface of the table, so when it rested on the table, gravity did the rest and made the potato tip over, thereby moving the cup
