Looks great!!! Don't let the haters get you down. Most people just starting out and looking for some inexpensive way to start painting. I can't justify spending the money on real automotive paint to practice on. Keep up the videos.
Hey, man. It is a beginner. I just wanted to say thank you for all this. Different knowledge. You are bringing us through these tests. You make they are awesome and I appreciate it a God bless.
Really great outcome ! Very much appreciate reporting the gun settings . it will get me in the ballpark when it comes to adjustment , hope you continue to do this . thanks.
Hey GT don’t listen to the negative comments. Rust oleum is OK, it’s just that people should use a decent 2k clear over top of it. You inspired me and others to use pearl/metallic. I always wanted to try it, but here in New Zealand, a metallic/pearl base is USD 40-50 per litre, and I can get quality 4L of 2k fleet black/white+2L hardener for 100 USD. You’re doing something that no one else is doing and that’s showing how certain pearls or Metallics look over different colours, thank you bro.
Many years ago at work I discovered using clear lacquer (I worked for an auto supplier) over Rustoleum enamal gave it a deep gloss and also made it dry to the touch in a few hours (it was like magic). I sprayed some industrial blue color (that just happened to match our conveyors) on some unistrut with the clear for some photo eye mounts I fabricated; the quick dry time allowed me to make this apparatus and bolt it up in a few hours. YES CLEAR CAN BE PUT OVER RUSTOLEUM and it looked like a new hundred dollar bill. I enjoy your videos, very cool what you can do for a few bucks; great job GT!
I sprayed laquer over black, on replacement door and fender just to get by. The summer sun slowly cracked it all, looked like it was in a fire, just the two panels. It was crazy looking. Then it was a pain to sand off. I got out a wire wheel, eventually. Had good luck with Summits black epoxy with clear over it. Edit, I'm sure indoors it would be fine though.
I love how that turned out over the apple red. This is my favorite that you have done so far. I want to see the Kin Gold over a medium to darker green and a medium brown. Keep up the good work I love it!
Interesting combos you come up with. I do not understand paint compatibility, what works with what and what doesn't and why. There are so many brands of paint and so many opinions about what will or will not be compatible. I love painting but am out of patience with spraying something and having it lift or wrinkle up and having to redo it. It would be cool if someone like yourself could do a simple video series on explaining paint types and compatibility. I enjoy your content and that you explain things simply without talking for three hours and saying nothing.
I never knew that pen trick to get the paint out. This would work great doing like a motorcycle with a small detailed gun and a pancake compressor somebody could do a nice job. Great videos lately.
One other thing that would be helpful to us watching, when you lay a coat of pearl down can you do a zoom in so we can see how much metallic it puts down? As you add coats it changes the color but if you wanted this a bit more red with the gold pearl it would be good to see how it changes with additional coats. As always, great job.
Looks awesome as always! Thanks for all your content, it’s great to see all the combinations! I would love to see a glimmer ghost white and a glimmer ghost gold over a white base. I’m thinking about doing stripes on my white Silverado’s hood. Thanks again!
I really like the fan pattern of the new Rustoleum 5 in 1 cans. I use em to repaint metal household items. Not as affordable as amazon 6 packs of cans, but for $8 for a nice fan, time is money... That old gun has put in works.
It looks amazing while the solvents flash, and looks even better after curing then a cut and buff. To hell with the trolls. In this economy EVERYBODY BUT the trolls are on a budget. So there's that. If you have 3k-5k to pay for a paint job, then get it done.
Wow that looks on point with what I was thinking. I wasn't sure if the pearl and color of the flake would change up the base and OMG it looks good. Now I my dilemma is something like this or the grape with teal flake...I am glad you do these tests and show results.
I really wanna paint my LS swapped 82 Gmc shortbed Squarebody 68 Corvette Bronze with Black top and bottom with Black, Orange pinstripes. Search 1968 Corvette Bronze Camaro to see the color im talking about. That Car looks amazing and it's a similar color to this Panel you just painted.
Currently doing the body work on my Silverado and just realized... That fender is a Silverado fender😁😆😂🤣🤣🤣💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾. Goin with Ghost Red over Satin Black. Just got 50g in. Thank you 💪🏾
Hey mate, great work showing the colour variations for us to see what a car might look like before it's too late. Could I see an orange or copper base with a 14k gold nugget clear. Or the kin gold maybe. Cheers keep it up
This turned out great, man! Thanks for sharing all the color options that you have done. I am editing a video I made with Eye Candy Macaw Blue Green on a golf cart. I will tag you so you can check it out.
You should always show us the equipment that you are using to spray with and air pressures to....Great video!!! thank you. I wonder how Apple with White kin or Apple with black Kin
Love your videos!!! Super inspirational. I already went out and purchased the galactic ghost blue that I'm wanting to spray over some pink for the engine bay of my CRX could you possibly try that combo 🤙
Thank you for the video. I have already ordered the kin gold for two of my four projects. Now i want to know what i can add the my bronco with the dark maroon. Give me some ideas please
It's almost like the two stages you shot reacted like a candy, its absolutely beautiful. Hopefully you'll be able to tap the two litl dents out without damaging anything. It looks like the fenders aren't going to match the rest of the vehicle because it looks so much like a candy. I hope I'm wrong..
I am looking for the perfect light blue/gray metallic- or gray-blue metallic. Any chance you can do some blues over rustoleum gray or maybe a blend of a blue gray metallic over back/gray?
Would you be able to do the rustoleum high performance “aluminum” before and after clear? I think it comes in the quarts and gallons. I’m considering using this color on my car but interested to see how it looks. Thanks for all of your hard work and great content!!
What size tip are you spraying the clear through with the flake in it ? Thanks, turned out really nice ! can you do one with pagoda temple? Im trying kin gold with a pagoda temple fade over yellow my order should be in any day!
Great color! You should buy another fender and compare the weight between the unpainted fender and the ones you’ve been using for your videos. I’m curious how much paint is on these.
hey gt I love your vids I have a question?I'm try to paint my tahoe a different color with red base but I don't know what of pigment that would look good but I don't want it to turn orange any recommendations
Yes….i did to my 2014 tahoe which is black…the clear coat was failing so i re-cleared it with 2grams of blue ghost pearl…also did the same on my mother in laws black honda accord…again failing clear coat

What a fabulous combination. Love the outcome.
Really great outcome ! Very much appreciate reporting the gun settings . it will get me in the ballpark when it comes to adjustment , hope you continue to do this . thanks.
Damn brother that's a beautiful color combo
Gold over red looks awesome, I sprayed orange pearl in my clear over red and it looks pretty awesome too. Good video.
That is an awesome transformation. Would like to see you spray Rust-Oleum Gloss Dark Walnut with the Kin Gold and Ghost Gold on top.
That one is pretty sweet! I love the orange look to it.
Another great video thank you for your hard work!
This is the exact color i was looking for thank you for showing the process
I was going to paint a guitar candy orange but now I'm thinking the KIN gold over red is what I really want. Thanks!
Kin Gold over Neon Yellow!

The eye candy pigments are good. I used a higher end clear coat but my basecoat was rustoleum satin.
Great work, thanks for the information!
That would be great on any any muscle car or tuner or mini truck love it!
I'm loving these videos man keep it up. I love to see the different color combinations. How about we get a green with the kin gold pigment next
People seem to ask questions without watching, and the answer is in the video. Or ask colour combinations without checking older videos.
i love the color!!
Ever tried painting radiant red top coat. Would be cool to see you recreate that color. GM radiant red top coat
Excellent combination.
Looks good 👍🏽
That looks great
Not normally a fan of regular red vehicles but this sets it off. I wonder what that kin gold would look like over orange/white 2 tone.
You have a camero w ss stripes?
@@bJamesm-bj6ur naw got a mini truck building thought about doing some 2 tone paint jobs on just haven't decided colors yet
Try red with red pearl. That would rock
Awesome work I'd like to see some dupii color lacquer paint with some clear

Looks bad ass bro! Can you do a Dark charcoal Grey over a black base with the katana Grey
Great color! You should buy another fender and compare the weight between the unpainted fender and the ones you’ve been using for your videos. I’m curious how much paint is on these.
That is 🔥
I bought 2 cans of grey primer and 4 apple red cans for my honda fit. Hope its enough to do the whole care sinc it's a small car

Can you do Kim Gold over neon green?❤
I would like to see something that shouldn't be done... like pink pigments over bright green paint or maybe white pigments over black paint?!?

🔥🔥🔥🔥
hey gt I love your vids I have a question?I'm try to paint my tahoe a different color with red base but I don't know what of pigment that would look good but I don't want it to turn orange any recommendations
Beautiful color combo. Have you ever tried spraying clear with any pigment directly over a stock factory paint job? Just to pimp it up.
Yes….i did to my 2014 tahoe which is black…the clear coat was failing so i re-cleared it with 2grams of blue ghost pearl…also did the same on my mother in laws black honda accord…again failing clear coat
