The last time I saw a Vincent on a ride here in South Africa was twenty five years ago. Mine has been on rides for almost thirty years now on a fairly consistent basis.
Looks and sounds like huge amounts of fun, even with all the road works, and the pushbikes. It is so much like Box Hill, Surrey, England on a sunny Sunday, wall to wall Lycra clad brigade , but that sharp setup of your Vinnie adds the appeal I love watching your videos, thanks for posting Phil 🙏
Yes, it is fun riding the Vinnie on our quiet roads early in the morning. I was lucky with the weather on this ride because the wind can be seriously strong. That also explains all the bicycles. Thanks again.
Hello from S.E. Iowa, USA,...Wow, as I await riding weather here, I find Your Channel !!!! Absolutely lovely, the mighty Vincent singing, then roaring with that glorious tumult ! I only wish that my '69 Norton Commando Fastback (my avatar pic, it's been in my life since 1977) had the "Clearview in the rearview" that You enjoy ! Obviously everything is dialed in proper. What a machine, been riding all my life and has always been in the top of my wanted to own list, any model. The care and maintenance required, is more than admirable, and for keeping something that is probably one of the motorcycle worlds most coveted brands so exceptionally road worthy, Sir, thank You, from a true lifelong lover of 2 wheels. And the road, how blessed You are, and we, that You shared this perfect day, from a view that thanks to the inter-web we never could have enjoyed before !!! So super cool and we'll done THANK YOU MORE THAN WORDS ALLOW !
Thanks for the kind words. It is amazing to think that after owning the Vincent since 1995 it is only now possible to make and post videos thirty years later. Who would have thought. Keep well.
Can't get enough of your bike Phil the sound alone is intoxicating Here in the UK 🇬🇧 we're having freezing temperatures so can't get out riding at the moment Keep em coming thanks 😊❤
@@PhilUys many of my friends still ride whatever the weather but I suffer from arthritis & have mobility problems so can't ride for long in the cold... I keep my Virago trike ready to go out when we have good days 😁👍
Fantastic, Phil. Watching from Canada, where it is dark and freezing and my bike is in storage. Your part of the world looks beautiful. There is nothing like the exhaust note of a Vincent, save for maybe a RR Merlin firing up. Good stuff. Cheers
I just turned 65. Been riding, building, racing. My Dream is riding the TT on a Vincent Black Lightning. I'm a US Navy veteran, and and after a Westpac tour I saved poker winnings and bought a 500cc Triumph from a factory mechanic who told me if thats what you want I'll tell you about it. With $780. In hand I bought this factory flattracker . Barely street legal. I'd grown up racing and the shop owner helped a lot. Tape a map on the tank, a compass on the gas cap and head east through the desert from San Diego.
Interesting story. I have a Triumph Tyger 500cc Daytona. They are great little bikes that love to rev. How close are you to realizing your dream with the Black Lightning and the Isle of Man? The racing is hectic on the island.
@@PhilUys I've had so many English BSAs Triumphs , it's fun, bear with me,ok? I learned a long time ago about motorcycle work and fun of course. If you have a good garage and know how to Keep it, it's just a matter of buying bikes with a sharp eye. It's a great bit of fun rescuing a particular one, have the time to get it in proper shape then come spring wheel it out with a correct price tag on it. It's Not about cleaning and polishing, more than building one YOU would actually buy.
@@PhilUys Well my friend, so far Twenty Grand plus I already have the leathers. I need to get financially creative. 80 percent V.A. is quite a bit short, Y'know.
I read Peter Eagens story about his trip, After the races he managed to hold on to the big Suzuki long enough to extend the vacation to tour Ireland! Such is the lot of a motojournalist!
There's nothing like the sound of a Vincent Twin! Where have you been hiding Phil? It's been a while since you posted the big Vincent and your exploits on the beast. That leaves most of us looking at "Show Queen Vincents" that are static displays.I like to see Vincent Twins pulverizing the pavement rather than looking at museum pieces. The cams and Mikuni carbs are an excellent choice for street use once the carbs are jetted properly. Ride safe. Cheers from Connecticut in the States!
That was a fantastic ride! I see cyclists are the same the world over, ride right across the road, and turn right without a signal or even looking. Do you have Lightening cams in this? And what carbs do you have on it? Chris B.
I agree cyclists are the same everywhere. I am a cyclist myself so know their behavior pretty well. Giving them a fright with the Vincent evens things out a bit. The cams are Lightning spec with 30mm Mikuni carbs.
@@PhilUys Thanks for the feed back Phil, I too am a cyclist, and the behaviour of a lot of these people is rather embarrassing, if we hit one it is always our fault! The Mikuni's give very good response with the Lightening cams, I think jetting is the problem to overcome with modern fuel, but you seem to have got it right, it sounds really good. Ride safe! Chris B.
A Vincent on a ride.Had to watch.

Absolutely amazing. Could watch these videos for ages. Thanks for taking the trouble. Incredible 😎👍
Glad you enjoy them. I will keep on making them until I run out of roads.😎

@neilclayton6606 Just teasing, cold and wet is not for motorcycles.

Thanks for the comment. I have posted five video's riding the Vincent in the last year. For some it will not be enough 🤔.
