Someone needs to put some RESPECT ON KEATONS NAME because the riffs on this record are so out of this world and insane also Marcus just entered into the god tier vocalist list for me now after this. Good Album reaction Rachelle I just got into Invent animate this year and man they blew me away the whole album is a masterpiece from front to back my favorite is without a whisper it had that thornhill vibe to it all and all Keep up the good work with your content.
I've been a die hard IA fan for a few years now, Greyview was just a masterpiece, and this album... masterpiece doesn't even cut it. Every song has brought me to tears, and Emberglow brings me to tears every playthrough, and I've played this album like 25 times through already. Just absolutely mind-boggling, incredible songwriting.
it's so heavy and at the same brings the space for some gentle moments of emotions, what an Album, what a Band. can't wait until the Album sits on my shelf, love IA forever.
"Backed by science" fucking love that!!! Watching this right now and this 1st song is nothing but a banger banger banger!!!! Thank you Rachelle for introducing me to Invent, Animate sometime last year. This album so far is simply perfect!!! Saw them live last year and will see them again this year...
I really like how relatable Rachelle's emotions are, and how sincere. All of her videos are just so relaxed to watch and I can listen to great music at the same time. Thank you for your content Rachelle!
so happy to see this band evolving further and smashing everyone's expectations, it's unreal just how good they are and how they keep improving with every single thing they do. Marcus especially, his vocals are sounding stronger than ever here and I'm living for it. I really hope this is the album that finally makes them really blow up like they've deserved to for so long. this is a clear winner for the AOTY spot so far, and an absolute 10/10. also, I reacted the exact same way when I heard that new mix on Shade Astray LMAO this is probably the case for most of us here but, THANK YOU for being one of the reasons I found this band. you're a real one, homie
This year we are EATING just based on my music taste personally, we have Invent Animate, Bury Tomorrow, AND CURRENTS dropping a new album this year! It's insane! All three of these bands are insane at the moment and dropping some seriously beautiful stuff. Currents has been really flexing their skill, bury tomorrow showing why they deserve to be in the game, and most of all, Invent Animate really PUSHING the meaning of art and beauty beyond it's limit. This album caught me off guard, in the best way possible. Currents is one of my all time favorite bands, but even I have to admit it'll be hard to take that album of the year from Invent Animate this time. I'm lucky to be alive to experience this music.
"Album of the year"? I'll allow myself to disagree with this partially misleading title... Because it's an album of the fucking decade!!! It's absolutely flawless musical experience. And on top of that, as someone who lost so many close peoole, the main theme "loss" hits home 😢😢
@@RachelleReacts nah, you've gathered such a cozy community here! I genuinely feel like I could have a lovely conversation almost with anyone who is in the comments praising our boys ❤😅
That's a huuuuuge claim when the absolute behemoth that is Masstaden Under Vatten also came out in this decade. Can't fully agree but i'll allow it haha ;)
@@sirdo946 dude, that's such an absurd statement to drop, yeah we see you're special and nothing like other people but masstaden under vatten being "album of decade" is just stupid sentence to ever exist, that's too niche sound and with all respect to them and their music it can't compete with most of albums you could find through release gap of decade
@@fiend265x bruh wtf made you so mad lol, it's *my* album of the decade so far and my comment was very clearly cheeky and joking (i mean, muv actually is my album of the decade and will be very hard to beat, but it's such a masterpiece that i don't mean this detracting from other albums). Also, yes it's very niche but that doesn't mean it's not compositionally better than many, many, many other albums that have been praised a lot (some even way more than they deserved). My album of the decade for 2010-19 was Altered State, is that too niche for you? Or am i allowed to prefer one of the most well-written, emotional, chill-inducing pieces of music ever created over others that maybe were more influential?
I found about the release of this album yesterday because of an reaction. I bought the album yesterday before going to bed and I have been losing myself into it the whole day today. It is just a perfect record from start to finish. I haven’t learned to connect the song titles to my favorite parts of the album yet, because I just listen to it on repeat, but the biggest stand out song is Immolation of Night.
It is so amazing to watch someone who loves this band as much as I.... react to this album. It brought me to tears on my first listen through and has been on repeat since then.
Rachelle, what I absolutely love and adore about you and your reaction vids is the absolute authenticity that comes through my screen. That connection on an emotional and spiritual level is a wonderful thing to experience, and I'm thankful to experience it with you and the community you've built.
this means everything to me. I'm very grateful to be able to share something I love so much with all of you. thank you for giving me the time & for leaving such a sweet comment.
I love your addoration for the actual music. You react to feeling for your soul. Not reacts. Finally a reactor that hasn't ruined what I loved about origional reaction videos. Thank you Rachelle
Reverie is going to go so hard if they play it live. Perfect interlude for a set, huge crowd interaction potential. This whole album is 10/10 front-to-back, nothing to skip, nothing needs to grow on me.
watching your reaction 9 days after-now i understand your connection to it. still giving me chills and taking off my mental mode in the best way. the way it ends by currents was the only album i remember feeling like this
Totally feel you on your take about releasing closers as singles. I wish that they, did Reverie and Elysium in the same key, so Elysium could follow Reverie, and then Emberglow be the closer. Emberglow and False Meridian are my favorite non-singles. Wonderful reaction by the way 😌
I am so glad i got this channel recommended. She is really feeling ecery song. I thought i was the only one that smiled and laughed like that when listening to a banger. I am stoked for more videos
This album was an ABSOLUTE 10/10 for me. The way I listen to music I listen to the few songs off albums I like on repeat, but this album has zero skips for me. The only other albums I can think of that did this were Slipknot’s Iowa, The Maine’s Lovely Little Lonely, and Meshuggah’s ObZen. I love the track order, my favorite tracks are the singles, Without A Whisper, and False Meridian. I love that they put Reverie right before Immolation, the absolute contrast between those two tracks is incredible. This is, from my observations, a concept album about grief. Sometimes it’s crushing and all you want to do is scream and cry, other times it’s the soft spoken wonder of how much longer your sadness will crush you with its weight. Invent Animate, lovely album, I am obsessed. Y’all are officially my favorite band, if not, definitely in the top 3. Can’t wait to see what y’all do in the future!
Agreed, AOTY for me as well. I typically have the mindset of “the heavier the better”, so I was not expecting to feel the amount of emotions I did listening to it. Emberglow chorus hit me like a ton of bricks. Great review , keep up the great work
These guys and a band called The Wise Mans Fear are by far some of the best music this year for me TWMF newest album released last month then these guys this month I’m in heaven it’s a time to be alive
I am beating myself up for sleeping on this band lmao Without A Whisper is HUGE for me but there are literally too many good chorus’s. I didn’t realize how much I wanted beautiful breakdowns. 😂 definitely my favorite album release so far this year.
Lowkey think emberglow should have been the closer but Jesus this album is on another level. That outro for false meridian is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard
After listening to the album a few times already, without a whisper was originally my favorite track but purity weeps is the best track from the record in my opinion. Absolute masterpiece all around. I love for this bands music lol
I let this vid marinate a bit :) Honestly I thought your fav song must be Void Surfacing - such a dope track I think it would be my fav if it had a music video, but looks like my fav is eventually Immolation of Night
This was wonderful to watch! Love seeing you react to your favourite band and this was a whole album!! I loved this, easily my AOTY. No complaints at all. Very hard for me to choose a favourite right now but it's likely going to be either False Meridian, Purity Weeps or Void Surfacing. The vocal range has been excellent on this album. I'm a big fan of Marcus's cleans and we got such a variety of them. The riffs were incredible, I could see most of your top 10 riffs of the year being just from this album (but I know your list rules won't allow that). As you mentioned atmosphere has always been a big thing in their music and again this whole album does it so well. I am very excited to hear this on Spotify now with higher audio quality and eventually hear it with good headphones! Could not be happier with this, really can't see anything beating it this year! Curious to hear what your favourite track will end up being after multiple listens! P.S As a scientist I can confirm this is the best band and truly is backed by science.
This is already a top 10 Metalcore album for me. They took everything that was amazing from Greyview and their previous work and perfected it. Marcus hasn't ever sounded this amazing before. I don't see anything coming out this year coming close to dethroning Heavener for AOTY and I say that as a gigantic Currents stan.
The new currents singles sound really muddy and compressed the production quality isn’t my favorite but their first album the placebo feel the safest is one of my favorate albums ever
@@Tico1818 so well, like come on Glow sounds like such an epic and positive way to end the album. Elysium just sounds like it’s own thing. A definitive post-story for the album. Where you finally “pass on” beautiful take on it for me personally
Ah, so Shade Astray really has a new mix, I was worried my hears didn't function properly! Anyway, album of the year BY FAR. This sounds like a more "haunted" and atmosferic Greyview. Also, love how they experiment with song structures! It's a 9/10 AT THE VERY LEAST
Huh really, as a Greyview megafan i feel like Heavener is more on the emotional side. Like Greyview feels more like you're coldly closing yourself in your loss/grief/... while Heavener is more "i have people close to me who i can share problems with and who can help me". And of course i'm more of a Greyview type tbh lol, but 99% sure that Heavener will solidify as my 2nd fav Invent album
Heavener is the most powerful and inspiring album I've ever heard, these guys are amazing and Markus took this band to a whole new realm, I love how powerful his vocals can be and then give us a soft almost Billie Eilish quality, it's truly the next level in the genre
I don’t think anything will be coming close to beating this for album of the year. Invent Animate has just been on another level lately, and Marcus especially blew me away. Can’t wait to see them on the first show of the Currents tour!
@@forevermarked5826 That’s definitely going to be one of the few albums that has a chance. I love me some Currents. I’ll be at that show at the Palladium as well! So stoked.
This will probably end up being my AOTY as well. I've been listening to these guys since around the time they started dropping singles for Stillworld and this is easily their best work. I haven't had an album listening experience like this since Architects dropped AOGHAU
Overall an amazing album. I wasn't happy with the fact that they changed the mix of Shade Astray cause I liked the old one but I guess they had to so it would fit the album mix. Similar to what others have said - you kind of got me into this band as I had struggled with them for years being very on the fence about them and then this album along with your enthusiasm for this band has finally tipped the scales and I now enjoy them proudly. Invent Animate really exploding with this album! Well deserved.
This is the first Invent Animate album I can truly get into. Their instruments have always been good, but I feel like they finally figured out EQ for the vocals with this album (although it doesn't hold a candle to Periphery's new album imo)
I know this is old but i felt like I had to mention that the riff on Void Surfacing has been my favorite since the first time i listened to that track.
We had the same reaction to this album, only difference is, this would be my 100th playthrough and i cant get over it hahahaha Im soooo in love with them.
Rachelle’s face during Without a Whisper is the face of someone hearing one of the best songs they’ve ever heard. Same same

Best track on the album. Level 10
Best metal song of the past decade, maybe 2.
Same same, but not different.

I really like how relatable Rachelle's emotions are, and how sincere. All of her videos are just so relaxed to watch and I can listen to great music at the same time. Thank you for your content Rachelle!
oh this is so sweet! thank you so much 💙
@@RachelleReacts very welcome! Thank you too 😄
I’ve been following them for 6 years now and I love to see how much they have progressed and continuously get better ever release.
so happy to see this band evolving further and smashing everyone's expectations, it's unreal just how good they are and how they keep improving with every single thing they do. Marcus especially, his vocals are sounding stronger than ever here and I'm living for it. I really hope this is the album that finally makes them really blow up like they've deserved to for so long. this is a clear winner for the AOTY spot so far, and an absolute 10/10.
also, I reacted the exact same way when I heard that new mix on Shade Astray LMAO
this is probably the case for most of us here but, THANK YOU for being one of the reasons I found this band. you're a real one, homie
💙💙💙💙
This year we are EATING
just based on my music taste personally, we have Invent Animate, Bury Tomorrow, AND CURRENTS dropping a new album this year!
Thank you for supporting these guys for so long! What a monumental time to be alive and get to experience such phenomenally emotional art.
💙
"Album of the year"? I'll allow myself to disagree with this partially misleading title... Because it's an album of the fucking decade!!!
It's absolutely flawless musical experience. And on top of that, as someone who lost so many close peoole, the main theme "loss" hits home 😢😢
THE FIRST HALF OF THE COMMENT I WAS LIKE 👀
@@RachelleReacts nah, you've gathered such a cozy community here!
It brought me to tears on my first listen through and has been on repeat since then.
thank you so much!! IA forever 💙
Fookin legends. 🤘. Banged this album in the car, start to finish. One of the best metal albums I’ve ever heard. Top notch yo.
What an absolute masterwork! Thanks so much for introducing me to this incredible band.
💙
Rachelle, what I absolutely love and adore about you and your reaction vids is the absolute authenticity that comes through my screen. That connection on an emotional and spiritual level is a wonderful thing to experience, and I'm thankful to experience it with you and the community you've built.
this means everything to me. I'm very grateful to be able to share something I love so much with all of you. thank you for giving me the time & for leaving such a sweet comment.
@RachelleReacts, just keep doing what you do!
I love your addoration for the actual music. You react to feeling for your soul. Not reacts. Finally a reactor that hasn't ruined what I loved about origional reaction videos. Thank you Rachelle
And to be fair... I like this album, I don't love it but you do and that is everything with music
thank you so much for appreciating what I do! 💙
The breakdown on False Meridian crushes everything. Love it. Favorite track of the year is Immolation of Night.
legit only found out about this band when your reaction to the sun sleeps came up in my recommended, really glad i clicked that video
Thanks Rachelle!
💙💙💙💙
Ironically Reverie is my favourite track, really highlights the fantastic vocals.
Reverie is beautiful
Reverie is going to go so hard if they play it live. Perfect interlude for a set, huge crowd interaction potential. This whole album is 10/10 front-to-back, nothing to skip, nothing needs to grow on me.
As much as I wanted Sleep Token to have this title, this video proves that there's even more amazing bands out there.
watching your reaction 9 days after-now i understand your connection to it. still giving me chills and taking off my mental mode in the best way. the way it ends by currents was the only album i remember feeling like this
Totally feel you on your take about releasing closers as singles. I wish that they, did Reverie and Elysium in the same key, so Elysium could follow Reverie, and then Emberglow be the closer. Emberglow and False Meridian are my favorite non-singles.
Wonderful reaction by the way 😌
Purity Weeps is my favorite off this album too!!! I’ve been cycling this album with TMBTE and the latest Currents album
I am so glad i got this channel recommended. She is really feeling ecery song. I thought i was the only one that smiled and laughed like that when listening to a banger. I am stoked for more videos
💙 glad you're here
This album was an ABSOLUTE 10/10 for me.
Great review , keep up the great work
I’ve been listening to this album non stop, incredible from start to finish
I FUCKING LOVE this album. Been jamming to it at work for the last couple days. Thanks much for showing it to me Rachelle!
❤️ ❤️
Welp, we knew this was coming. I'm waiting patiently....🔥🤘

@@RachelleReacts 🖤
These guys and a band called The Wise Mans Fear are by far some of the best music this year for me TWMF newest album released last month then these guys this month I’m in heaven it’s a time to be alive
TWMF is amazing
Perfect album. I expected nothing less, blew me away still.
come back to this reaction lots, best metalcore album i've ever heard, i can easily confirm this after 100 listens
💙
I am beating myself up for sleeping on this band lmao Without A Whisper is HUGE for me but there are literally too many good chorus’s. I didn’t realize how much I wanted beautiful breakdowns. 😂 definitely my favorite album release so far this year.
Me too I don't why I've sleeping on invent animate I've should have to check out sooner but I enjoy them.
Lowkey think emberglow should have been the closer but Jesus this album is on another level. That outro for false meridian is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard
Kings of emotional metalcore. "False Meridian" and "Void Surfacing" are my favorites outside the singles for sure. Those hit hard.
Without a Whisper is my number 1 from this album 👌 followed by False Meridian
After listening to the album a few times already, without a whisper was originally my favorite track but purity weeps is the best track from the record in my opinion. Absolute masterpiece all around. I love for this bands music lol
Ugh, first song in, and I'm in love.
I let this vid marinate a bit :)
Honestly I thought your fav song must be Void Surfacing - such a dope track
I think it would be my fav if it had a music video, but looks like my fav is eventually Immolation of Night
Your reaction to _False Meridian_ made my week! Thank-you 🥰
💙💙💙💙
BACKED BY SCIENCE
This is already a top 10 Metalcore album for me. They took everything that was amazing from Greyview and their previous work and perfected it. Marcus hasn't ever sounded this amazing before. I don't see anything coming out this year coming close to dethroning Heavener for AOTY and I say that as a gigantic Currents stan.
The new currents singles sound really muddy and compressed the production quality isn’t my favorite but their first album the placebo feel the safest is one of my favorate albums ever
I don't understand how Emberglow is not a closer, what an ending
Strong agree. Definitely would have thought and felt that it was the closer if I hadn’t already known Elysium is.
Absolutely should’ve been the closer. I’m gonna consider it as such lol. And Elysium a kind of epilogue.
@@geraltoftexas7631 honestly that works as a mental comparison super well
@@Tico1818 so well, like come on Glow sounds like such an epic and positive way to end the album. Elysium just sounds like it’s own thing. A definitive post-story for the album. Where you finally “pass on” beautiful take on it for me personally
dlya menya purity weeps favoritka
Currents coming w my AOTY and seeing both of them in May! Here in MA
The end instrumental part from Void Surfacing blows my mind 😱
Feel like this boys didn’t come to take part in metal core they fucking came to take over with this album!
