In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art1, you realize your so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. Stranger was performed in Sochi, Russia in 2021 at the New Wave singer competition. The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. Dimash isn't just a singer he's a phenomenon. I've been following him for five years and I'm always so happy when someone new discovers him. He's presently almost 29 years old and been involved in music since age 5. Both parents sing and dinners at his home are always filled with music. He's 6'3" and beautiful to look at, in addition to being extremely talented and a wonderful human being. Please do more!

Not enough people have heard his magnificent voice yet - possibly because he’s not signed to a label (he wants to retain creative control), and also possibly because he sings in many languages, not just English .. He’s from Kazakhstan and the instrument you were asking about is a kobyz, a traditional instrument from his country. Dimash suggested to Stranger’s composer, Igor Krutoy (on the piano) that it would sound well in this piece, and it’s superbly played by Dimash’s friend, Olzhas Qurmanbek. You have so much more of Dimash to discover! He has no genre; he can sing absolutely everything, from pop to opera, rap to folk - we never know what to expect from him!

As a Doctor of musical arts and science, it is my humble opinion that Dimash is a gift long-awaited and in need by the world. He can easily spend two hours in a concert without damage to his vocal cords. I have been a ‘Dear’, a follower of Dimash for over 5 years, after discovering him when he performed in The Singer competition in China in 2017. His vocal range is just over 6 octaves, and he sings in multiple languages, and all styles. When I first discovered him he couldn’t speak English very well, but now speaks it fluently. He studied music from about the age of 5 years old, and has worked extremely hard to get where he is today. He is the best singer in the world, and there are so many songs you need to react to. My personal favourite is Ikanaide, which he sang in Japanese, at the 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival. It is just Dimash and a microphone. No audience, no band, completely stripped back. The man you see at the piano, Igor Krutoy, composed the piece, and the kobyz (the stringed instrument) player is Olzhas Kurmanbek. Dimash is always gracious to those he performs with and gives them full credit for their part in a production. Krutoy is a well-known Russian composer who basically came out of retirement to work with Dimash. They have collaborated on a number of pieces and make a wonderful team. The Kobyz player is considered by many to be the best kobyz player in the world and he has been involved in several pieces Dimash has sung. Another song with both Dimash and Kurmanbek is "Qairan Elim", which is a plea for peace for their country of Kazakhstan, and by extension, for the whole world (Dimash co-directed it and sings too.) This is Dimash. He is 5 years into his career. What you just watched shows some of what he can do, but not even 25%. You can jump on the bandwagon now or later. But he is a voice for love, for acceptance in the world, and he will impact this entire world.

Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art1, you realize your so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies like this that have such a mystical vibe. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Kobysz for that.
The kobyz is a very old Kazakh folk instrument and it’s spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter.
Stranger was performed in Sochi, Russia in 2021 at the New Wave singer competition. Dimash was there as a jury member.

The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible.
In this case he thanked the band A-Studio. It’s a Kazakh band who wrote this song. However, Dimash sang it differently. And in my opinion, much better 😄.

He’s from Kazakhstan and the instrument you were asking about is a kobyz, a traditional instrument from his country. Dimash suggested to Stranger’s composer, Igor Krutoy (on the piano) that it would sound well in this piece, and it’s superbly played by Dimash’s friend, Olzhas Qurmanbek.
You have so much more of Dimash to discover! He has no genre; he can sing absolutely everything, from pop to opera, rap to folk - we never know what to expect from him!

I have been a ‘Dear’, a follower of Dimash for over 5 years, after discovering him when he performed in The Singer competition in China in 2017. When I first discovered him he couldn’t speak English very well, but now speaks it fluently. He studied music from about the age of 5 years old, and has worked extremely hard to get where he is today.

Krutoy is a well-known Russian composer who basically came out of retirement to work with Dimash. They have collaborated on a number of pieces and make a wonderful team. The Kobyz player is considered by many to be the best kobyz player in the world and he has been involved in several pieces Dimash has sung. Another song with both Dimash and Kurmanbek is "Qairan Elim", which is a plea for peace for their country of Kazakhstan, and by extension, for the whole world (Dimash co-directed it and sings too.) It is worth listening to, especially if you like the sound of the Kobyz.
