Tom , Jake and your grand son. Great video I would have liked to haven't been there. Great show fellows , know it took some time to put it all together. THANK YOU
Loved this video. We don't get to see big power pulling big tillage equipment often enough. It's great to see when the implement is tuned to the tractor's capabilities.
This takes me back to some good times! I drove a Big Bud on the Snowy Mountain Ranch in Montana when I was much younger. We didn't plow but pulled 60' wide toolbars. I usually did the night shift, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Loved it!
Very very thx to BTP and Renner family for sharing these two vids! Do more if necessary, Mr Tom Renner has a plenty of tractors with great history! Thing BTP will stay a week for interviewing before fan's are satisfieded ☺️👍! Stay save and healthy!
The steigers are timeless and great to see them going They will be stlll be about in 20 years time whilst a lot of the new ones will be in scrap heaps or broken down for lack of parts ,!!!
Dang with all them in that field will be plowed fast and done right. Nice to see them old ones out there still doing what they were made for. Great video thank you.
Was waiting for this one. Really cool to see these classics still taking care of business!! Thanks Jason. I do like your videos minute/ seconds being the same.
Farmers helping farmers. Like to know, whose buying the beer after all the plowing and fuel. Thanks for sharing your video. Wish I had a big farm like you all.
Now this is BIG TRACTOR POWER right here!! That Steiger and the Versatile are chewing it up and spitting it out! What a neat assortment of classics doing my favorite kind of fall tillage! EXCELLENT video!!!
seeing that big bud 250 reminded me of a neighbor of ours who has a fairly large farm that has a big bud 400, and I remember they helped us tile and I got to ride in the cab , never seen any other bud in person and im convinced its the only one in the thumb of Michigan
Can you imagine how good that Tiger would pull with the some modern radials? I would not change them because she looks like she did when she rolled out of the Fargo shops. That 4600 roll over plow brings back memories of my child hood. That is what everyone around where I live ran. John Deere 4200 and 4600 roll-over plows. The 4440's ran 4 bottoms, 4640's ran 5 bottoms and the 4840's mostly ran 6 bottoms. They were tough on the 3-points but they did a good job. If we only had videos of them running now.
That 4520 that's pulling the reel disc looks like it has more guts than Cole the cornstar's four-wheel-drive Massey. Might I suggest that big tractor power is the farm tube star!!!!! Keep em coming BTP!!!!

That Steiger is walking the dog and kicking the cat. The Steiger and Versatile are doing the better job of covering the stalk refuse with very little grunt
@@Northern_Farmer had one, it was a nightmare around the tail wheel. Not to mention the special size cylinder that Deere charged $800 for. Was a happy day when I got rid of it, we don't plow much anymore, but when we do we pull a White.
@@Northern_Farmer if the cylinder busts go buy a $85 standard 4" and take it to a machine shop and have them cut it down. I fixed mine but the parts alone were $300 but was cheaper then the $800
Agreed, can’t believe I never heard of that one. When it started laying down the plow and losing some rpms it just gassed ready got up like it was pulling a 7 bottom. Really impressive, well built and heavy machines. I bet it’s as heavy or heavier than the 1150. Not sure why they didn’t get another 70 or 80 hp out of those 1150 and 1156, maybe they just didn’t have the a transmission system big enough. Steiger engineered the crap out of their tractors, 2nd only to Big Bud, but a better dealer network. More money too and a bit harder on fuel. Neighbor had a 12 bottom DMI and a Steiger with 315hp, and that heavy duty construction weight made the difference, when we turned over pasture with it with out 8550 traction was a downside as well as headlands
Wow that Versatile 1100 is a beast. It looks like it toys with that IH 720 12-18’s plow! I grew up with a Versatile dealer in a nearby town. Helluva a good tractor.

Most awesome video that I have watched in forever ‼️Gives me the fever to get my 7580 allis chalmers tractor fixed and going, and hook my semi mounted six bottom allis chalmers mono beam plow hooked up to it, and go turn some soil over 😂
It's interesting to see the 8960 up against the other 4 wheel drives. I think it would be the same size tractor for any of the full line manufacturers back then but then you see what else horsepower wise was available. Of course all of the companies had they're own battles, but I think it's still interesting. I know also most farmers didn't really need a Versatile 1150 back then and of course the full line manufacturers had better dealer exposure too. I'm not at all trying to say which tractor is the best either. Those are all nice tractors!
I m from Italy and since i was a child im trying to understand all the differences between our agriculture and USA way of working. I think we have to learn each other a lot of things. I dont think you have a lot of stone across the country. Thank you, i really appreciate your channel from the other part of the ocean!
Thank you for watching. I enjoy watching hillside farming in Italy on UA-cam. Roll over plows are primarily used in the South Western United States in the desert. You see them in Arizona, California and Colorado most often. Stones and obstructions are issues in many places in the United States. Spring trip plows are the biggest seller as a result. Heavy residue in corn requires high clearance plows. The IH 800 plow on the Versatile 1150 4wd has enough clearance to plow under a square bale.
