When the daughter said she’d pay to fix the gate if she won money, my heart legit broke. Because her mother is so into pageantry and spending everything on pageant dresses, she’s letting other far more important things go by the wayside.
I would also guess the mom probably mentioned to the daughter that it would be good to use the winning money towards the gate. Make it seem like its a good idea and a smart thing for her to do when really the moms just trying to cover her ass cause she’s irresponsible with her money.

When I was 8 I didn't EVER worry about how I looked. I personally feel like pageants are a form of abuse as it can cause children to be insecure or feel like they aren't pretty enough. No kid that is put in pageants really has a choice and it's quite sad really. They go up on stage to show off their beauty so adults can judge them... it's kinda creepy to be completely honest. It's teaching kids that they need to be pretty to make money and that isn't true. Pageants should be for kids above the age of 16, so that they can have a choice and already know that beauty isn't the only way to win in life.
my friend went in a pageant once and she is fine, she wasnt crazy about it like this lady tho. she wanted to do it herself. she was old enoguh to decide and it was her idea, so i get what you mean if ur talking about young young kids who dont have a choice, but my friend said it was fun. im not suppoarting these crazy obsessed pageant moms tho

being a pageant kid growing up,depending on the dress ofc, they can be very heavy especially for someone of her size. I never really had to much trouble holding them but thats just because I was,and still am,a really big kid and all of the other pageant girls, and guys, where very "dainty".
Depends on if he had the money to do it. If he wasn't paid alot and you just threw it outside or in a toy box and didn't play with it anyway.. I totally could understand him. If he had money and you actually enjoyed the toy until it completely broke. I understand you. But with kids... I kind of know which one is more likely what happened.
@@NelehLove9313 they said nothing about "throwing it outside" or "throwing it in a toy box", just that their father bought a $5 toy and they'd be guilted for it. Nothing understandable or "depends" about that.
@@NelehLove9313 well there's a few things to consider- - kids need variety and stimulation, whether it be toys or experiences. If the dad couldn't afford to buy lots of stuff that's fine, but I hope he read to OP/took OP to the park/ played with him instead. - OP didn't specify who was buying the toy, was it the father or OP? If OP bought it with their own pocket money, then the father should respect OP's decision to spend the money. - there are better ways to set boundaries with kids than by using guilt! Simply say "no, we can't afford the toy". When you get something with this weird pressure that "YOU BETTER USE IT" it becomes less fun to play with.
This is how kids gain insecurities, eating disorders, depression, and eventually end up in a psychiatric hospital with anorexia. They are being judged by how "pretty" they are at 7-8 years old, and if they don't win then they get thoughts like "i lost cause im ugly" and "im not worth anything". They get insecurities sooo freaking early and worry about how skinny they are when they should be worried that they will get caught in hide and seek while playing outside with their friends! Pageants for young children are terrible and lead the kids into a lifetime of depression and problems. Please never put your child into a pageant ever...
@@chanelye9485 Don't listen to them! I may not know you but I know that you are worth so much! Never stop loving yourself and don't listen to those stupid human beings! Keep your head up and show them that you are the Boss of your life and that you don't care about their useless opinions💙
Yes this is true white colour is to get good luck and overall good fortune, while black is to ward off evil, red is for good health and pink is for romance not sure about the others
Pagenting is literally showing kids to a bunch of people so that they can tell them if they are pretty or not. They take these kids and sometimes even put them in sexualized outfits/routines/characters and then put them in front of people and say, "yes, that's good, we've done good, my child is happy!". No, your child is just that, A CHILD. They are children, not adults, and they shouldn't be competing over who's "prettier" or "thinner". The fact that this pagent called it "petite division" also has be feeling extremely gross, "hey, come look at skinny young girls in expensive dresses and girdles and corsets and tons of makeup and judge them!" Nasty stuff.
Fun fact: That little cat is called "The Fortune Cat" and it is for good luck, but its purpose to obtain wealth through the luck of business since Asian cultures surround life around work and various businesses.

oh god… “i’ve been sucking in my stomach” that poor girl was so proud of herself it’s obvious she’s been taught that weight should be as low as possible
exactly, when I was in preschool from age 4-5 I would suck in my stomach every day, especially during preschool. when I started kindergarten it got worse, I ended up being diagnosed with arfid as well as other eating disorders at age 7. ive struggled my whole life with my body due to the society I grew up with, body image is talked about a lot more nowadays and its getting worse, im about to be 19 and I still have arfid, its something I probably won't overcome due to having the symptoms and signs since I was a baby but nobody really thought much of it until I had completely stopped eating when I was 7.
this world is horrible, as a child this is heartbreaking, an 8 year old is being taught and being raised to be so self absorbed. its sad truly. its unfortunate shes already having to live up the societys unrealistic standards. it really is heartbreaking. no child, or anyone as a matter of face should have to feel like they have to live up to society's standards. everyone is beautiful how they are.. its truly saddening edit: sorry this is so repetitive i was tired when i made this😀☝️
my mom did it to me and i can’t stand her for it, sometimes i catch myself being rude to people and entitled and it’s like it’s just became a part of me. not to mention the whole “watching what you eat” yea my mom would only let me eat one bowl of fruit a day and workout for 2 hours in the 5 days leading up to pageants
Daz's "COME ON" do be sounding more and more like Gordon Ramsay with each of these videos 😂😂😂✌🏻👌🏻 edit: omg thank you guys 🥺 I never had 1k likes. Stay safe and don't microwave your salads you doughnuts 🦇
In regards to the kid being like "I practiced sucking in my stomach" that left me gravely concerned. I'm into 3 years of recovery from an 8 year long eating disorder and that's the type of behavior I started out with. Sucking in my stomach while looking in the mirror imagining what I could look like if I didn't keep any of my food down. I've only met one girl who has done pageantry and it was through an inpatient hospital and she had severe anorexia. Pageantry churns out insecure children who turn into even more insecure teenagers who gain their control through food. They should be shut down, not only because its extremely creepy for a bunch of adults to rate children's appearances, but also how dangerous it can be for young girls and their mental health. Women are more than their bodies, and that should be taught more rather than rewarding girls for being thin and wearing massively expensive clothing. You'll never see a little chubby kid accepted into a pageant
I agree, I'm happy for you that your doing better, thank you for putting this out there everyone needs to know what that leads to. I feel bad for these kids this poor girl will probably have emotional problems etc years from now pageants need to be eliminated
Honestly the second kid did well for nearly tripping over the stage like she composed herself and continued her intro. Like if I was one of the judges I’d give her points for that, just because she did her best in that moment. The parents shouldn’t be upset by that if anything it shows her resolve in an unexpected situation.
And you can tell how much pressure she was under just from the way she started crying over something so minor imo. I had to rewind it bc I thought she did something really bad and I just missed it.😭
“I’m practicing sucking in my stomach” I’m heartbroken. She was 8, she’s not even gonna live a childhood without worrying about her body. That is horrible :(
Honest to God got tears in my eyes when that child said she practices sucking in her stomach. Wears a girdle to bed??? I have a 7 year old daughter and I would NEVER. Heartbreaking
They way the mum said “suck in that stomach” is actually so sad, honestly how can a mother say that to her 8 year old daughter. Or to anyone in that matter. I’m actually in shock. Girls and boys in society today have problems with their body and the pageant parents are feeding that with their own children. It makes me so sad. I wish those girls (and boys in pageants) the best❤️
I know that feeling too. I live with my grandmother who is very narcissistic and when she tries making comments like that or trying to manipulate me into appearing better, it hurts. Especially when you get bullied in school everyday like most people only to home and get shamed about everything that makes you yourself
I truly hate when parents tell their children straight up how expensive they are. It just makes the kid feel like they cant do anything right and that all they do is make life harder for people. Coming from experience, it made me feel so worthless and that I was just a burden on my moms shoulders.

I agree 100% but this is funny because I do Irish dancing and we all have to get spray tanned and wear heavy ass dresses, makeup and get judged (on dancing) but I totally agree. Haha
@@lolac8399 a SPRAY TAN for IRISH DANCING? I’ve done clog dancing in the past (Dutch) and that sort of stuff was super banned. What’s the point of a pale person not looking pale as fuck with IRISH DANCING. Sorry if this comes off rude it just absolutely baffles me. That’s the place to be pale second to an albino convention.
Realise how at the end she said “I might take a break from pageants right now.” She was talking about HERSELF, which suggests that her daughter’s enjoyment or wellbeing is not important, she’s only a tool for her own enjoyment so that SHE can enjoy pageantry, not the daughter.

"I don't judge the child in her figure I judge them on their beauty" like that's anything better? How are you gonna look at children and be like " you're not pretty enough"?????
Yeah it was probably a good thing that they didn't judge on figure because I was a JUICY child i was fat, still don't know how I won most of the pagents cuz im not pretty either so🤷🏻♀️
It broke my heart when she said "I've been practicing sucking in the stomach." I was taught to do that at a young age as well and now I have a terrible relationship with food and have an on and off ED. I think pageants are disgusting, a way of fetishising children and a way for the mothers to do what they wanted as kids. That poor girl would probably be doing anything else if she could but her mind is so spoilt to be perfect for her mother’s wishes and dreams..
@Malone Jackson nah yeah I wanted to do that shit too but it wasn’t popular in my country and now that I’m grown up it just seems like what I said… it’s just my view on it soz
@Malone Jackson thats great and I'm happy you got to do something you enjoy. Unfortunately its just such a small minority of kids that do pageants that actually want to it just makes it an overall toxic thing. Its a shame
Daz has the platform and the voice to speak out in protest against these typed of pageants. I think if he expressed his opinion further he could possibly encourage opposition and awareness in protection of these young girls.
As someone who has mental illness myself, (generalized anxiety disorder and depression) I can safely say that child is going to eventually develop something. Not certain what, but something. And as a steampunk, I personally adore corsets. But when the corsets actually hurt you instead of defining your figure, it's time to get a bigger waisted one, or a different shape of one. A girdle should not be worn to bed for the same reason a corset should not be worn to bed. It will not make you permanently have that figure, but it can damage your body. Body as in ribs for example. Depends on the kind of corset/girdle. That child is never going to believe she is pretty enough while every child at home watching the pageant wishes they were her. And then the beauty standards are going to change in the next, what, 5 years? Beauty is different for everyone. I'm rocking goggles and top hats while other girls are rocking warm colored striped crop tops and fabulous white shorts. I'm rocking short hair, they're rocking double buns. Beauty comes in different styles. I don't believe I'm pretty, and I'm a teenager, and I suppose that's just a phase of life. But with someone who, like her, basically thought being pretty was the only way she was *allowed* to live, it'll hit a *lot* harder. Luckily, my mom never told me I had to be pretty, but she's ecstatic to get me a $76.00 corset! (Not for bad reasons, my sister wore them on her own and my mom is just happy to see me happy.) All I'm trying to say is pageanting is damaging, which I know roughly everyone here will agree with.
Imma say this straight: as a girl with an ED, holy crap is she gonna develop one. And for the record, the model industry approached me multiple times because I had the “perfect shape” it’s known but like I was severely medically underweight with organ stress. I declined all the offers as I knew it’ll get soo much worse. What I learnt is that industry’s take take take when you have nothing left. You can keep feeding a demon but they’ll always be hungry. Sorry to chianne for the hundreds she’s gonna spend on therapy, hope the mother pays for it though like she did with the dresses
I did modeling classes for two months in the 7th grade. I had an ED already at the time plus the medicine I was on at the time for epilepsy would make me lose weight. I only joined because my older sister was doing it and I wanted to be like her-beautiful and perfect. Except there was a problem. They used me as an example for the walk, pose, facial expressions and body image. I only picked up the walk, pose, facial expressions from watching my sister and the other girls do it. In those two months my ED got worse till I realized I needed out. So I left and never regretted it. I got better and happier. I looked to people like Marlyn Monroe to learn how to be graceful and do the “model walk”. I got skinnier due to puberty. I now do things my way and I’m not listening to other people telling me to change. Poor Shian is going to need years of help due to her mother’s actions. She’s beyond more mature than her mother bless her. She’ll need that in years to come. I hope she gets out of this pageant toxicity.😢
The mother Here is just The definition of Horrible…When the mom took the kid back to get the Gel nails even though the lady said It’ll damage them in the future because she’s a child she STILL went back and had them done. We all hate to see our children or siblings upset and crying but When it comes to their safety now, and for the future they will have to learn they may have to shed a few tears in life and that’s okay. Overall Pagenting is Just Ruining Kids…All girls are worth more then their body and the same thing with boys to, Who we are as a person is what shines in us the most, not how skinny we are and Not how pretty we are.

Maybe the dresses are made of diamond and that’s why it costs so much
I thought the dresses were gas
some pageant dresses can actually b heavy, especially for a young girl like her
being a pageant kid growing up,depending on the dress ofc, they can be very heavy especially for someone of her size. I never really had to much trouble holding them but thats just because I was,and still am,a really big kid and all of the other pageant girls, and guys, where very "dainty".
my father used to guilt us when we bought a small toy worth £5, i can’t imagine how this poor girl feels..
N not even guilt usually just ranting abt raised prices n stuff
@@NelehLove9313 they said nothing about "throwing it outside" or "throwing it in a toy box", just that their father bought a $5 toy and they'd be guilted for it. Nothing understandable or "depends" about that.
@@NelehLove9313 well there's a few things to consider-
- kids need variety and stimulation, whether it be toys or experiences.
@@NelehLove9313No that's not an excuse thats callled emotional abuse
This is how kids gain insecurities, eating disorders, depression, and eventually end up in a psychiatric hospital with anorexia. They are being judged by how "pretty" they are at 7-8 years old, and if they don't win then they get thoughts like "i lost cause im ugly" and "im not worth anything". They get insecurities sooo freaking early and worry about how skinny they are when they should be worried that they will get caught in hide and seek while playing outside with their friends! Pageants for young children are terrible and lead the kids into a lifetime of depression and problems. Please never put your child into a pageant ever...

The fact that this pagent called it "petite division" also has be feeling extremely gross, "hey, come look at skinny young girls in expensive dresses and girdles and corsets and tons of makeup and judge them!"

exactly, when I was in preschool from age 4-5 I would suck in my stomach every day, especially during preschool. when I started kindergarten it got worse, I ended up being diagnosed with arfid as well as other eating disorders at age 7. ive struggled my whole life with my body due to the society I grew up with, body image is talked about a lot more nowadays and its getting worse, im about to be 19 and I still have arfid, its something I probably won't overcome due to having the symptoms and signs since I was a baby but nobody really thought much of it until I had completely stopped eating when I was 7.
this world is horrible, as a child this is heartbreaking, an 8 year old is being taught and being raised to be so self absorbed. its sad truly. its unfortunate shes already having to live up the societys unrealistic standards. it really is heartbreaking. no child, or anyone as a matter of face should have to feel like they have to live up to society's standards. everyone is beautiful how they are.. its truly saddening

12:44 that cry had me literally tearing up from laughter 😂😂😂
Well we had a chubby Queen once but she was the only one running at the school.
Preach it girl, Preach!! Pageants should be stopped!!

Overall Pagenting is Just Ruining Kids…All girls are worth more then their body and the same thing with boys to, Who we are as a person is what shines in us the most, not how skinny we are and Not how pretty we are.
I get what you are saying, but why are you capitalizing random letters?

I remember when I got gell nails, they seriously messed up my nails. They were soft and flake like stuff was peeling off of my nails.
