BANANAS ARE NOT FROM AFRCA BRO.. .
Musa species are native to tropical Indomalaya and Australia, and are likely to have been first domesticated in New Guinea. They are grown in 135 countries, primarily for their fruit, and to a lesser extent to make fiber, banana wine, and banana beer, and are sometimes even grown as ornamental plants.

You are one of my fav UA-camrs and this video shows why. It is not just your love of food, which I enjoy as a fellow foodie, it is the diversity of food and neighborhoods you show case. I don't see any others doing this. Your channel has so much heart this video highlights all I mentioned (heart, food, local, diversity). As a native New Yorker I thank you.

My wife and I have just returned from a few days in New York. We went on Larry's 'Soul of Harlem' tour which was excellent. Despite watching approximately 1 million Here Be Barr videos before our trip I'd managed to find and book the tour myself.
After the tour we stuck around in Harlem to go Amateur Night at the Apollo which was also great.
Your videos are a great way to prepare for a trip to New York, thanks for creating them, and Harlem should be on the agenda for anyone visiting the city.

9:40 Sorry but banana is not an African fruit.
Most experts agree that it was most likely first domesticated by the Papuans in the Pacific and then reached Asia. (At least according to currently available major publications)
It was introduced to Africa through maritime trades later.

The reason that banana pudding is vegan is that the milk was replaced with a plant based milk. True banana pudding has milk and bits of cake in there. And I don’t think nilla is vegan at all. I’ve always seen milk or milk powder in the ingredient list.

Correct. Nilla wafers have egg and milk in them.
