come up with these videos...my man...its a treasure for new joiners
The video came out amazing brotha! Thank you for stopping by , God bless!
Keep up the grind brother! 😁
Petey thanks so much for welcoming us with open arms.
Coming over from Scotland later on this year!! Im coming for one of those Cadillac's, see you soon!
Homemade food prepared by the hands of comforting people who love to cook always tastes the best! I adore Mama Jo 🤗
Me too!!
It’s healthier
@@marveen6372 Just because it's home-made does not mean its healthy. For example; seed oils, sugars, chemical flavors, preservatives, and food colorings can all be found in home-cooked foods, including these street meals.
It's because it's cheap.
I live in Cyprus and Mama Jo is serving legit food. Good for her.
Love Jon’s reaction to good food. Takes bite, chews twice, closes eyes and lifts chin with the most contented look. Best compliment someone can give. Kudos!
My most favourite Videos of Here be Barr is where affordable food is featured..I will never say word "Cheap" because Food is never Cheap it's a blessings to living beings no matter what living form you are 🙏🏻🌎🌍🌏🙏🏻
:)
@HereBeBarr food in Dearborn is great I used to like NY Italian foods but don't like Manhattan or Queens
@@HereBeBarrCanadian maple foods are my favorite today but I know you are from South America. Crazy where people come from cause they don't lose their taste buds.
I would buy from momma Jo's just because of her positivity!
Amén
“But you can survive doing what you like” 😨 omg this woman just made my eyes tear up that was one of the most amazing quotes I have ever heard 😮🥹 bless her ❤️ amazing job catching that on video Jon wow 😮👏🏼
Mama Jo is just full of inspiration.
Absolutely! 🙌🏼
CANT WAIT TO GO NYC IN 10DAYS!!
your videos have helped ALOT!!
Me too💜
I'm going in 18 days! hope you have a great time - his videos are helping me so much too :)))
Have a great time, but don’t get scammed by the folks in Times Square
Always check if you still have your valuables.@@xtremeentertainmenttv9664
I have been in NYC two times and when I watch these videos, I want to come back again :D
Mama Jo is correct. If you do what you love, you will be a success. Jerry Seinfeld said the same thing. If you go into something for the money, you will fail.
Good one. Petey's Cadillac coffee is called "office mocha" in Seattle.
Connecticut here. Did my first bacon egg and cheese Harlem 125 and Lexington lil bodega on the right hand side. Video up!!!
I swear to god this guy says every single business is iconic
Gotta love Mama Jo’s, she’s a star and total legend as you said❤. Petey’s cart is great as well. I love all the cheap breakfast options in NYC. You always put it together so well ❤
So fun watching and stepping back into that rainy morning, the food was great but also incredibly affordable! Thanks for having me!
Thanks for joining Ben!!
Love all the amazing stories from these small businesses!
Very nice selection of places to eat for breakfast! Thanks for sharing
Wonderful people eating wonderful food, made by wonderful people. 🥰
im from greece myself and you often see greek food which isnt close to the real thing but she makes it AUTHENTIC
Dang. Been decades since I went home for a slice. Thank you for showing me the REAL places to go eat!
I love how it turned out ,shout out to you Petey ❤
Going back in August! Excited to try these places out 😊
Exactly what I need!!! Powerful on a budget food. This goes direct to my fave tips.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm so glad to see Momma Joe's is still there! I saw a food doc on her many years ago and she seemed like the sweetest kindest soul. One day I would love to visit her cart myself. Great video, thank you guys!
I'm long gone from NYC but this video made me homesick (briefly). So happy to see Mama Jo again, when I was ever on the UWS Grays was always a must have. And instead of standing behind some dipshit ordering a thousand things in their coffee a coffee regular is the essence of New York. Cheers from the left coast1
Great video! I can't believe how good the peices are. ❤
Hi Jon,
Thanks for the wonderful video of cheap eats in NYC! I’ve got to visit NYC just for the food.
Welcome to Ben on your channel.
Have a great weekend and thank you for your constant entertainment!
Best Wishes,
Peter
Thanks! 😃
I spent a month in the Bronx and the thing I miss the most about nyc is the food. So much good food. I just wanted to eat all day long when there. It was truly the best food I have ever had. Pizza to die for and so much yummy restaurants. I had a burger the size of a dinner plate. It was delicious and so filling.
I’ll be taking my first trip to New York in July and I learn about 10 more places I want to eat at every time I watch Jon’s channel. This city has a vibrant food culture that I can’t wait to try.
@@mk13902 Me too bro. whooo hoo it's going to be fun!
Who doesn’t like a cheese, bacon, and egg sandwich…??
On the map, Gray's Papaya is on Amsterdam and 72nd. Not Broadway, but a short block from Broadway, because they cross there. I heard the Papaya King relocated on the east side a block or two or so from where they were for years. I ate there in the 70s lol
Great post my dudes, this is for real NY food!
PTOO PTOO to Mama Jo!! LOVE HER ENERGY!
Thank you for this !!!!!
Hope too see you in New York❤
Sometimes the cheapest ones are the best ones ❤
Keep coming more videos enjoy all them 👍🏻👋🏻
Great video Jon! Always enjoy seeing some of the more obscure spots.
Showing off the man, the myth, the legend himself 🎉 So glad Petey's getting the recognition he deserves, super sweet guy who's gonna tell you exactly what he's thinkin.
💛🖤💛🖤
This is very useful to watch. I like the idea of staying not far away from one of these places and not having to go too far for breakfast before exploring.
Jon it is definitely doable staying on a budget in NYC !
I´m going to NYC march 6th, very anxious!! thanks for the tips
Me too💜
I was nervous before I went too, but I absolutely loved it there. You’re going to do great
@@elysebuehrer5981 this de fpirth time that I go there, it' s one of my favourite places to travel, greetings from Brazil!!!
Have a great time don’t get scammed by the folks in Times Square
Ninos breakfast on 44 and 7 is also great too! Reliable and great food.
Good stuff friends!
NYC eats is the best content for food by far !!!! Great job guys
👏 👍 keep up the great work
Way better than anything LA has
I enjoyed the video. I wish it was longer.
Awesome, affordable eats in New York ! Great to eat there on a budget.
NYC breakfast carts always 🤤😉
@HereBeBarr way to MANY good breakfast places it'll make ya late for work . I know ALL about that 😂 🥛🥞🥐🌮🌯🍩🍴🍔☕🍜
I was wondering when you were going to do the Gray's Papaya breakfast items after the last video you visited them!
Also, all these choices seem like the most NYC breakfast places and people you could find! Love it!
Thanks Anton!
Great video. Petey and Mama rock.
omg i visited that greek cafe in astoria in 2022, i'm greek myself and that cafe was so good. the owner was a fellow photographer, super nice guy and he was a victim of rent hike and couldnt afford to keep it open anymore. his bougatsa was the best i had outside of greece.
Love Bing Buzz dude's jacket. The food is almost as good.
HBB u guys are awesome i feel like i am in NYNY with u all. I am in Vancouver Canada
I was in Texas and went to a local spot for breakfast and… when I asked for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich they looked at me like I was crazy.. I mean how hard is it to put bacon eggs and cheese on a roll.. seriously 😒
Because you can’t beat a bodega bacon egg and cheese.
Thank you Jon, I am going to New York for the first time with my 12 year old in April. I am 30 and it's just me and him. I am extremely nervous but your videos have really helped me a lot and I feel a bit more confident now, thank you
You can do it!
If it helps, there is certainly crime here but it's not nearly as bad as the news will make it out to be. Definitely have some cash on hand as many smaller shops in NYC are cash only and try Adels while you're here.
Thank you for the advice!@@kevinnorris6558
More things to add to my list 📝📝
Wise man!
This was great. Go Mama Jo and Petey! I miss the short 2 years I lived there.
i love that guy's jacket. so fun!
Only in nyc can you eat so good. Thanks for video
I will definitely have to visit these places the next time I make it to NYC! Although I found a great breakfast place near where I stayed in Hell's Kitchen last time, but it's a sit down and not under $5.
Lovely woman, lovely cook! ❤❤❤
Such grandmother!
Wow Veri nice testi recipe❤❤❤
Dang! I wished you had posted this video a week and a half ago. I stayed in New York last weekend, and my hotel was just 3 blocks further down Park Avenue. I know I passed Petey's at least half a dozen times. I'll have to check it out when I return in June.
Grays papaya is amazing.. damn I miss New York City. My friend had an apartment there back in like 2010. I miss the vibe. I’m in South Jersey. I gotta spend more time there this summer.
EVERYTHING SEEMS DELICIOUS
I was just there on business. I will need to check her place out.
Has anyone EVER seen a NYC food cart/truck that makes Maltese food?
This video made me very very hungry
REMEMBER THOSE DAYS IN THE 80s working on wall street eating those breakfast
Mama jo is still in business? Nice!
also petey's a legend! God bless them both!
All you need to remember is that those food people were up way before you, and they will go home way after you do; all to provide you the opportunity to eat well. Treat them accordingly.
they ain't doing it out of the goodness of their hearts
When I was a messenger in NYC back in the 90's, you could get a great breakfast in Chinatown for very little cash! Rice noodles and sauce, stewed pork and rice, steamed pork buns. Very good and cheap!
I gotta come back to this video for more Mama Jo!
greetings from Athens, Greece!
Jon….EVERY VIDEO…EVERY VIDEO. You HIT it out of the ballpark! I’m getting a Cadillac tomorrow morning! Thank you ALL for a fun, delicious vid! 🎉🙋🏼♀️🎉🙋🏼♀️🎉🙋🏼♀️🎉🙋🏼♀️
make a video about find a job in new york please!!
excellent
Just found this page from this video and I have to say I'm a huge fan. Great quality video. Keep up the good work!
Petey is a real one 🔥🗽
When traveling in the northeast (big cities) on business in the 80's, I quickly realized you could easily get a satisfying diner breakfast for like two bucks. Having a similar amount of food for dinner at a typical restaurant for dinner would cost 5 to 10 times as much. Much more at a fancy place.
Being a frugal person, I wondered how restaurants didn't just PRINT money at dinner.
"Thats my nature" wise words.
A Choco mocha is the coffee hot chocolate mixed together
The chicken noodle soup looks great .
In California or Mac Donald’s at least that like 6-7 maybe 8 dollars..
Just paid $12 for a suasage egg mcgriddle
Tax included?? (( shocked if it is )) Spanakopita Yummy and delicious. I have seen it as high as $$15 in Chicago and yes I am including Tax. Pastry yum. Just call it an egg sandwich yum. Absolutely love doughnuts, that looked like Yuk. Outstanding all around
Gray's Papaya 2 dogs, onion sauce and mustard, always stop here. Haven't been since CV but man 2 dogs was often give for the change in someone's pockets
CHEAP and Looks GREAT !!!!😁😁😁😁😁
Support small businesses 🙌
Hey Jon
That's a good video.
I rather eat them for lunch.
LOL it's been a while since I heard of the Cadillac
You can eat delicious grub on the cheap in NYC at most no-name local delis and street carts.
Videos superb brother....could you please tell hotel rate . I think Edison hotel. Thank you. Need to stay 10 dys in Edison hotel
When traveling, including vacations, I loved to wander around a bit, and find a diner near my hotel, get MUCH better food for a SMALL fraction of the price. Perfect for breakfast and lunch. Then for dinner you could eat healthier, but at least only shell out much money once a day.
Obviously, in my 60's, I have to be MUCH more careful re my diet than I was in my 20's and 30's. So, sigh, diner food is a thing of the past.
The Bodegas...
The Bodegas...
Are staples...
Shout out To "JOEYS" in Long Beach NY...
Shout out to the middle store in Lakeview NY...
The Middle Store get the bacon egg and cheese or the beef patty on coco bread..
Real New Yorkers eat at the Bodegas...
And back in the day you can also get a "jar" if you knew the password..lol
I wish I would have gone there when I was there in December 2021
"After I go to sleep in the office and wake up in the morning, this is the first place I go to"
I just can't wrap my head around the idea of a lifestyle that requires you to sleep in your workplace in order to maintain it. There's no amount of amazing food or experiences that's ever going to justify that for me. I don't care how great NY is; if I have to live in my job just to be able to afford to be there, it's not worth it.
id get that bacon egg and cheese any day over starbucks coffee made by a bisexual for 20$
you get 4 strips bacon wow!
Second half took me off guard wtf 😂
I was really surprised about the prices food prices in Brookfield place. 10-15 dollars for a meal is way lower from what I expected. In my small forgotten European country, you can`t get a lot cheaper than this. 33 cm pizzas cost about 12 €. Not to mention in a fancy restaurant prices can skyrocket to 50 € per lunch. Salaries are a lot lower tho (average is 1300 € per month) so to put that into context, food in NYC isn`t that big of a deal.
Greys is big for hot dog and juice no? They say papaya for the drink. :)
yes it is!
