hard to choose these over sirui's 1.6x line: bigger and heavier than the vazen 28mm, but somehow smaller than the 40mm despite being full-frame. and also somehow much cheaper!

In 2023 it's a hard sell for me to drop that kind of coin on anamorphic lenses that only work on M43. While they're no doubt great lenses, I'd probably rent them or go for the more affordable options out there, because I just don't know what the long term future holds for M43 as a whole so I'm skeptical of investing that kind of money on anamorphics unless I was a full time DP or something.
Judging only by the footage in this video, I would never purchase these lenses. Most of the times it doesn’t feel “cinematic” at all. Another aspects you guys should re consider is the white frame for the anamorphic shots!

Open gate: use the whole surface of the sensor. In this case one should get 4:3 footage. That's without the horizontal squeeze factor. This type of shooting is a game changer: you will still have approx. 3200 horizontal pixels recorded (that need to be desqueezed in post). That's a significant advantage over Olympus (20 MP).
For my liking 1.33 as a factor on m43 would be more appealing since the final result would almost deliver 16:9. No space wasted on a TV.

premium but out of focus 90% of your anamorpic shots, maybe you the person taking you with the anamorphic must use glasses, he-she is focusing 15cm infort of you all the time, its a shame.
