  • Over the course of 10 days Eli ( / @socalgarbagetrucks2585 ) and I travelled around Colorado and parts of Utah and Wyoming, filming over 20 different trucks along the way. I left with nearly 2 hours of footage that will be uploaded over the next year or two, but to kick things off I put together this compilation of everything I filmed on the trip. I'm pretty satisfied with the variety in the video, as I got a decent spread of front load/rear load/side load and 8 different chassis makes and 11 different body makes. Also... every single truck in this video is diesel powered. Quite the change coming from LA, where a compilation here would be nearly the opposite. Much of Colorado is pretty Mack-dominated too, something else you don't see much of in California. There aren't many repeats in the video so I encourage you to watch all the way through. Enjoy the video, and big thanks to all the friendly drivers we met along the way, Eli for doing most of the planning as well as everyone else who helped with truck/route info. Filmed July 2018

AYO WHY DID THAT TRUCK LOOK LIKE? CR&R?!

Looks like you and Eli were very successful on this one! It’s so nice to see so many different methods of garbage collection rather than the ones you see down here in SoCal. I really loved all the manual stuff and how basically everything was diesel. It’s like CNG doesn’t even exist there haha. I think my favorite was the GSI stuff, the Haul Away stuff, and that Spring Rapid Rail rolling coal at 10:33.

I found the wide variety of trucks quite interesting too. GSI in particular was pretty cool, a rear loader, side loader, and front loader all working adjacent routes. Thanks man!

That was one hell of a compilation! You guys really did get around. I enjoyed the whole thing and can't wait for the individual videos. I see you got to meet Bob at the garbage man lol. That WC carry can is my old truck so that was cool to see. Nice job editing this too.

That's one hell of a collection you have there. Wished you would have put what city the video clip was in. I was being driven crazy trying to figure out where in the hell these were.

thanks man! I guess in the haste of trying to edit everything I filmed it was overlooked, but I just added the locations to the description if you want to check it out.

Nice video! I loved the variety of trucks! The haul away rear loader guy should have flipped the lid before tipping the cart. Has haulaway always been part of CR&R or was this a buyout? I see they use carry cans and recyclers a lot. How do mike and Scott stand the heat? I’m guessing it’s much worse then California. Did haulaway just start automating Routes with ASLs? That’s to bad because I always liked how they were unique with their semi auto routes. That whites CCC IrL is awesome, it’s to bad a lodal is the last chassis, cab and body you can buy in one. Amazing video!

I believe they've always been a part of CR&R. However a lot of their stuff formerly belonged to a company called Suburban Waste though, idk the details of whether that was a buyout or what though. Heat isn't that bad at all, pretty comparable to SoCal actually. I think they only have like two ASLs are something, and most of their routes are take-all with lots of manual bins so I wouldn't expect to see tons of automation coming from them soon. Thanks!

Nice compilation, Tony! Really liked the springs trucks. Also really liked that Gallegos Curotto can! Did you catch any of the filmers that work at Gallegos?
