Sound of ur commentary did not work, I appreciate the work tho
@@justintime7351 oh thanks im not alone i thought i was the only one having that issue in the comments
Luis Grijalva was an absolute rocket down the last 100
Heck yeah!
@People's Republic of UA-cam And he was front and center of the image 90 % percent of the time in this video. And yet, he was not mentioned even once. As a fellow Spanish American, I'm used to that, but still, you'd expect better from a former pro runner such as Nyck.
@@pirultaeee I agree !!
This is some insane commentary, very insightful
There is music over the commentary, what the hell are you watching!?
@@seatownfan i thought my phone was tripping 😭
@@seatownfan you need to use your right headphone, all of the music is from the left earpiece, so if you use both or your right you will be able to hear it. I was confused at first to.
@@swaggycheese4363 same, can’t hear commentary thru phone speakers only music
Yes very much so!. Especially his insights at 09:54 - quite surprising . . .
Amazing recap! Jacob was out for blood! He ran that “let me send a message race”, letting the world know that he is at the top of distance running right now.
Only real ones know this a repost
?
@@arthurillidge9829 found someone’s not a real one
I saw the first notification come up, tried to watch it and it was gone. Wonder what happened
I don't know what Nick is saying but the music is 🔥🔥🔥
Fr i thought my phone was tripping but apparently everyone else can hear him
Great commentary as ever Nick
Luis Grijalva was so poised, got eaten by the pack, then remembered his motivation and came back to win fourth!
Did not hear Nick voice for the whole video. Anyone else have me the same issue ?
The WHOLE video? Thas a you problem.
@@gummy5862 rewatch the video its nothing but music
I realized when I put my apple air pro , Nick voices disappear but the background music is still on. Otherwise I can hear Nick voices! That is weird !
I had the problem
Me too
Luis grijalva needed some appreciation too!🔥
For real he didn’t get mentioned
This is the best running commentary I’ve ever heard. The energy, passion and insight was perfect. Chef’s Kiss 👩🍳 💋.
My favourite is this guy: ua-cam.com/video/L1G4W4wJnTY/v-deo.html
I disagree with the idea that Ingebrigtsen was far from everybody else in term of speed over 5k. His pb is 12:48 and he had a big kick in that race where he destroyed Katir, Chepteguei and more. If the race had kept on with the fast pace he would still have been a very likely winner. Great cover of the race though thanks !
Agree!
Facts
Shave 13 seconds and he has a wr😎
@@jonasharestad7664 That’s a shit ton of ground to make up once you’re at this level.
I agree with this and will only add Jakob is in great form this year. He is probably capable of more than 12:48. This day was not that day but it was clear the conditions probably were too hot for anyone to be running super fast. After the 1500 I think he would have been happy to be pushed into a hard honest pace. I don't think anything was going to stop him from winning this short of being tripped. A guy with a good kick will not mind a slower pace and it appears Jakob has learned to be a better tactician this year.
The runner who got 4th was by far the most visible runner during the race. He was front and center of the image 90 % of the time, always either 2nd, 3rd, or 4th until about a lap and a half, then falling behind but then showing an incredible kick to get 4th. Yet he was never mentioned. Not once. Several times every single runner in the image would be mentioned, including people who ended up far behind him.
How can you explain that? Even the very fact that having a new and small country there along the African, North American, and European usual suspects should catch your eye. But you don't even need that. The guy WAS RIGHT THERE THE WHOLE TIME AND FINISH UP THERE AT THE END! Sorry, but as Spanish American with some experience dealing with people from the US, I have to say this is very common: for some reason people from places such as Guatemala seem to have invisible properties... I know it's par for the course, but still, you'd expect better from a video made by a former professional runner.
Yeah Nick sorry we can't hear, although good background music
I'm surprised you didn't Luis Grijalva once... He ran the race of his life and ran upfront majority of the race. Despite falling back in the late stages of the race he bounced back and finished very strong.
Anybody else not hear nicks audio?
Still got the audio bug
True
Voice worked decent on my Mac, but my phone couldn't handle it...? (it couldn't hear your voice)
Amen on your reference to sportsmanship Nick!
You didn’t notice Gryvalia. The guy had the most amazing final 200
Or Nur. Only mentioned Fisher. 👎
@@nathanenns only mentioned fisher? Bro what?
FYI Bob: It is "Luis Grijalva."
Awesome commentary Nick. Maybe next time try adding some statistics about laps, like average pace (km or miles per hour, or minutes), and maybe turn down a bit the volume of background music (there were like 2 soundtracks). Thanks Nick as always.
If you want to see the perfekt kick at the end of a race just watch the last 3 km of the european championchips marathon a few days ago. That was phenomenal!
Disagree. Ingebritsen is not just a kicker. He can run any type of race.
Tbh this wasn’t even that slow of a race. He made it sound like the race was a jog-fest lol. Sub 13:10 is still an effort for these guys.
@@gummy5862 Especially at 90 degrees F.

@@random-zb7fp HOW?? IDIOTIC
I feel for Fisher. Ive gotten busted making moves on the inside before :(
Tough, happened at usa's and happened again at worlds.
Needs to work on his balance, maybe develop more leg strength
@@Netsfan24 yeah, I feel like he just needs to stop praying on getting the inside line and go wide. At their level, nobody gonna let someone fast slide through the inside.
He botched that last 100 hard. Like dang. 💀
Nick, the people would got to witness this 1500 that day was a rare privilege! Races like this happen more in European meets unfortunately. Also the Kenya runners trying to box him out
Sounds is off for me! :( I can't hear the commentary, just the background music! Is it just me? All other youtube videos work fine!
Nick, you do a better call than many of the "professional" announcers. Your knowledge, experience and enthusiasm is fab. (Sorry about Fisher. I think he could have really done something here).
I am from Norway and have met Ingebrigtsen. I do athletics too, and hope I will run like him one day🤩
Im like living vicariously through all these track athletes like I did watching you in the Olympics years back. 😁 it’s so inspiring.
But this Jake is an amazing example for sure. It’s like he wasn’t about to not pass his older brothers in his running abilities.
Jakob really got the potential to be the next GOAT of 1500m and 5000m!

Would love to see some recaps on the Oslo 2023 diamond league distance races.
I love you!!! you're full of energy and passion.
That was crazy…you could SEE the second the whole pack speed up the second they hit the 200m left.
Jakob training circle have stated Jakob does not intend to have a repeat of the 1,500m world champs again and true to his word made amends with a WL time at the Lausanne Diamond League last weekend
The video's audio works on my computer but not my phone for some reason.
the mic is in stereo and inverted phase on one channel
@@FSXgta Good shout, definitely sounds like it's out of phase. I'm getting dizzy listening to it, lol
The sound is glitched, it only works without headphones. When I have my headphones in it just plays music but without headphones I hear commentary.
This race from Jakob reminds me of moe fara’s 2017 10k final when he sat back then waved the crowd on
If this helps anyone, I couldn't hear him at first either. I was using only my right wireless earbud, so I took out the other one, and the audio was fine. I didn't even need to wear it, I just took it out and it worked
same
Ingebrigtsen is a long distanse runner that love middle distanse, he is capable to world rekord at 5 k, no one would manage to run away from him.
Symmonds has potential to be in sports broadcasting. He should be on flo radio!
A fun fact, that Ingebrigtsen only took water because he had a dry mouth and did not need water due to dryness of his body :)
you are my favorite youtuber, and i just want to say, ive been training for a while now and just got my new pr for 100m dash, 9.99 seconds!

9.99? doubt you got that, you would be one of the top ever in the world
Not one of the top ever but he must be a very good collegiate athlete or a middle of the pack pro if that’s what he’s running
@@dashielcockrill998 only 169 people have ever broken the 10 second barrier, he would be a top athlete competing in world championships, and would not be a minor (nobody under 18 has ever broken the 10 second barrier)

@@jaredbowen3527 except for the fact that he didn’t run that
Oof that audio was rough. Nick, gotta balance those Ls and Rs in stereo my brother
Who knows if Jakob has planned to go on 10.000m one day ? Because I'm sure he will be a master class killer on this distance...
He had actually planed to run the 10 000m in the European Championship this year but he caught Covid the week before he was going qualify for the race and he coulnt find another opening in is training program to do another 10k, he talked about it too Norwegian media just a few days ago.
@@MotRi1986 thank you for these informations.
I am from norway and have heard how he trains and some comments from his brothers and father. They said that he is a lot better at 5000m because if he trains a lot of capacity and is better at 5k then 1500m. He can run up to 180km per week with 4 threshold session each week and one faster interval. My opinion on the race is that he would win eaither way if it got run at 12.40 or at 14.00 because he is the best 5000m runner at Thule because of he’s big capacity. My opinion if he Jakob wants he can become the best 10000m next y we r if he want, but he have said that 1500m is the most important distance for him. But I think can become the greatest of all time on any distance from 1500m to marathon. But probably will be best at 5000m and 10000m because of his capacity.
Great to see the enthusiasm of a former world class runner!
We cant hear you
Is it just me, or is the sound not working correctly on this video?
For the people who cant hear it, use earphones!!
if you listen in mono the mic's stereo is out of phase, making you only hear music.
Love these 💯
Commentary is FIYAHHHHHH! 🔥🔥
Well spoken!
Good commentary Nick!
The Best...
i think that fisher got tripped up by krop cutting him off, not by having ahmed hit his heals
Grijalva is underrated in this race
why is it that on the phone I dont hear the commentary but on my computer i hear the commentary
Turn mono audio off in your settings
Water break is simply posturing and to mess with competitors heads.
Something is wrong with sound.
Fisher also trips on the rail during his HS National championship for the mile
H el guerrouj on his first try on the big stage knew the same fate as fisher then he proceeded to be the best 1500 m runner of all time, that might be a sign for fisher
i was watching the original video of this today, and in the middle of me watching it, it said “video is unavailable”. Checked my history and the video wasnt there, felt like i was in the matrix
Fisher and Mo Ahmed are both BTC teammates.
Fisher got cut off, causing him to almost trip over his own foot.
Nick, you need to make your microphone record in mono. Or if you can't, try inverting the phase on one channel to make it not cancel in mono playback!
Could anyone else only hear the music? At full volume I was only getting the music.

bruhh somebody messed up with the audio
I’d like to see you react to a decathlon; either a collection of highlights from each event or the 1500m
I only hear music, no VO audio…
You did not even recognise the most important aspect of this race. I am now at 7.23 and before that what did Jakob do? He is from Norway and its cold/windy. Nothing like what the Africans are used to.
He got dry in his mouth during qualifying, and so two times in the 5000 meter finals he drank/wet his mouth enough to be comfortable. It is important for him to know what he needs and adapt in the final race.
Also with his dad out if the picture and his older Brother Henrik Ingebrigtsen in helping him, he is more likely to stay "hidden" during the race. Which he never did during 1500 meter races before;)
On the other hand, he have said himself he wants to be able to win races in all ways. So you never really know what he is thinking, and even dad was coach he never knew that either.
It was also one more thing that is important and that is to time when you get down from high altitude. I wont tell it, have to learn Norwegian, but the numbers of days and also there is at a certain point a sequence of days things are uncertain.
The olympics 1500 and 5000 wss not able to do both, also it has to match time vice. The amount of days from the first to the last day is crucial. They know exactly what works for them due to trial and error.
🙃 I love sports, and understanding concepts and real reasons why people do well is fun. Most runners dont go of the beaten path and think for them self like Jakob does.
😊 He started when he was 2 years old, and he is a 24/7 athlete that learned from his brothers mistakes.
Good luck beating him 🤓

Garbled/Distorted! Why does the WCs have to screw you like this Nick!?
Dang did you record the audio on a phone that you put in another room?
i love that Ingebrigtsen is the only one wearing aerodynamic clothing :)
it looks goofy imo, but fuck it if it works why not. other guys' pieces of clothing flapping in the wind gotta slow 'em down. i wonder if there's research on this
@@kylestephens9593 Cycling has done tons of research. running tho, not as effective since speed is less but certainly makes a small difference!
@@kristianvonstrokirch9574 research suggest that there's around 10s savings over a marathon. i was expecting second or two per Km, this was underwhelming :(
@@kylestephens9593 i guess it all depends, baggy clothes in a headwind is like wearing a parachute. Wearing a speedsuit eliminates that risk i guess! :).
