Andy Mosher story of my life
The trick to last a while is to not push yourself in the start. Run fast enough so that you don’t miss the mark, but do NOT sprint. That will ruin your chances at lasting longer and getting more laps. Drink water before and after, and just think about pushing yourself to your limit without overwhelming yourself. Happy Pacer testing!
The FitnessGram PACER Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues.
The test is used to measure a student's aerobic capacity as part of the FitnessGram assessment. Students run back and forth as many times as they can, each lap signaled by a beep sound. The test get progressively faster as it continues until the student reaches their max lap score.
The PACER Test score is combined in the FitnessGram software with scores for muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and body composition to determine whether a student is in the Healthy Fitness Zone or the Needs Improvement Zone.

The multi-stage fitness test (MSFT), also known as the beep test, bleep test, PACER (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run), PACER test, FitnessGram PACER test, or the 20 m Shuttle Run Test (20 m SRT), is a running test used to estimate an athlete's aerobic capacity (VO2 max).
The test requires participants to run 20 meters back and forth across a marked track keeping time with beeps. Every minute or so, the next level commences: the time between beeps gets shorter; participants must run faster. If a participant fails to reach the relevant marker in time, they are cautioned. A second caution ends the test for that runner. The number of shuttles completed is recorded as the score of that runner. The score is recorded in Level.Shuttles format (e.g. 9.5). The maximum laps on the PACER test is 247,[1] which former Central Middle School student Dennis Mejia achieved,[2] the only person to ever reach such a level.
The test is used by sporting organizations around the world along with schools, the military, and others interested in gauging cardiovascular endurance, an important component of overall physical fitness. The multi-stage fitness test is also part of most health-related fitness test batteries for children and adolescents, such as Eurofit,[3] Alpha-fit,[3] FitnessGram[4][3] and ASSOFTB.[5]
The multi-stage fitness test was first described by Luc Léger[6] with the original 1-minute protocol, which starts at a speed of 8.5 km/h, and increases by 0.5 km/h each minute. Other variations of the test have also been developed, where the protocol starts at a speed of 8.0 km/h and with either 1 or 2-minute stages, but the original protocol is nevertheless recommended.[7] The test appears to encourage maximal effort by children. Additionally, the test's prediction of aerobic capacity is valid for most individuals, including those who are overweight or obese.[8] The multi-stage fitness test (MSFT), also known as the beep test, bleep test, PACER (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run), PACER test, FitnessGram PACER test, or the 20 m Shuttle Run Test (20 m SRT), is a running test used to estimate an athlete's aerobic capacity (VO2 max).

I never did this in high school, but I did in elementary and middle school. I believe the best I ever got was maybe low 90's in 5th grade which was like 3rd best in my gym class. For middle school, the gym was longer so I only got to the 70's. We also did this other version in middle school in teams of 4 that was actually pretty fun, you start with 2 people on each side and take turns running back and forth like usual, but this gave you time for a short break to even run over to the water fountain. I don't think we ever lost that, and usually ended around 140 because the period was ending.

A lot of the mistake kids in my schools make is that they immediately start sprinting to show off, and then lose their energy bc they sprinted too fast. The trick is that you have to save your energy, and then speed up later on as the time goes. That’s why it’s called the pacer test.
Artistic Coconut yeah in the uk we do a bleep test same but just that we figure how good your doing by the level you reach. (0.1 =1 lap 0.2 = 2 laps 0.3= 3 laps 1=10 laps and it goes all the way to level 20) and 1 guy started telling all his friends to sprint at the beginning and if you are early you get time to rest I was trying to explain why it wouldn’t work but they wouldn’t and they got tired by level 2-3
I always sprint in the first 5 laps so I can rest for 10 seconds
@@plancie3589 not a good idea
@@juantabe1418 2-3?! lmao the poor guys. Im hardly a runner but can average about 12
@@vibinpenguin7021 bruh I thought the pacer test was named after the Pacers, my home basketball team lol XD
The croc record at 60 is nice, but it does not equate to my slides record of 90
Everything Sportz what about my boots record at 100 🤔🤔🤔
@@boink5327 That's pretty good, except I could have gotten more. The 100% A+ was at 90 and as soon as everyone runs it you get free time. So naturally you have to stop at 90 if you don't want to be an outcast
What about my feet record at 107 cause my school gym says if you have boots then you have to take them off
Y’all are lying lmao
Innocent Fshy Fshy what about my arm score of 108
The pacer test has some of the best music out there
The pacer test is so nostalgic. They don’t do it at my school anymore. I never beat the test, but I was always over 30, sometimes 40
One kid in my elementary got to level 13 wearing jeans and beat everyone.
Ray Yay, what was his score my friends in my class got 79 and we are in 4th grade
I got 90 and lost to a kid who got 95 the gym was yelling after lap 70 when it was just me and him. This was in 6th grade. We kept going just to try and beat each other
Innocent Fshy Fshy I don’t know the score in my school we did levels like 1.1-1.9 than level 2.1 etc so I’m not sure
I got 87 and I'm in 4th grade 11 years old
And I got a friend who got 107
We had pacer yesterday, and when it got to lap 69, we all yelled “NICE!!!” At the top of our lungs.
Lol what did the gym coach say
Some Dude
Congratulations you are in 5th grade
Awesomesauce 659 my gym teachers cool, so he pretty much just gave us a questioning look, but didn’t yell at us or anything.
@@kaylina.6299 he knowwwsssw lol
Some Dude I just did the same thing when watching the video
This is very different to our beep test, mine goes, lvl 1:1, level 1:2, and every level the max beeps in a level would increase like, level 16:11 and level 17:
12
Im in 6th grade and just had my pacer test today and a couple of the guys in my class got into the 90's one guy even reached 100 laps, pretty impressive considering we are only 6th graders and below 5'5 feet, and most of those adults couldn't even do it.
Sometimes the pacer tests at achools arent properly measured tho. A single meter could make up for 10 laps total.
The pacer test is not the same if it’s not on a gym floor
Is it harder or easier ?
@@uncultureddog5226 i would say harder since youre literally touching the person next to you and it gets mad hot
True that, it’s way harder in a gym, 1) with all the people crammed in next to you that you have to push your way through to even get to the line 2) the floors get oddly slippery 3) it gets really hot
Uncultured Dog definitely harder in my opinion
Dang you guys do it inside last year when my class did it we went outside and on the blacktop when it was either very cold or very hot
I just hate hearing “ THE FITNESS GRAM PACER TEST”
“The Fitnessgram Pacer test is a multi-stage aerobic..” Did anyone else’s heart rate increase just my hearing that?
Yup
Made it to 94 in a mask, wasn't even tired just wanted to be able to beat my record by a lot in the summer. Did this at 11, but then again, I'm a cross country athlete and soon to be track
Anyone else getting anxiety the whole time thinking the girl in the purple was gonna be out
YES I WAS TOO!
Exactly
vlKenzo lmao, nah. I thought she was the smartest cause she’s wasting the least energy. Everyone else is running WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too fast. Man, in the beggining you could speed walk
Video starts: The fitness gram pacer test is a multistage aerobic capacity test...
Me: has flashbacks
Water sheep Mom worst than World War I Flashbacks...
Lol same
Man this brings back memories
Good thing is my homies and I always are some of the last people so its just more motivation to beat them
a girl fainted while doing this in middle school. There was like 12 of us left and we deadass didn’t stop😂😂😂 some guy even ran around her
Karen moreno the girls in my school give up after 20 laps
joshua minton Sheesh weak
Im so dead 💀!! Wait don't say that 👀
@@joshuaminton7583 thats sad my school got some strong ass girls. Matter of fact I was that girl 👧
Similar thing happens to me, she just fell over and didn't stand up for 5 mins, she was next to me when she fell and she fell into my lane, I had no choice but to jump over her 😂😂😂
