Your a life-saver buddy! Today (April 4th) is my birthday and I treat3ed myself with a new metal detector (Vanquish) and a Pro-find 20 pointer. It arrived yesterday and I went outside my home today and tested it out. Nothing but trouble with the pointer, so I am here on UA-cam. This is likely the problem! In spite of it being spring the ground is still frozen here in Magnetawan Ontario and Ice is still in the river. Its been like this all of my 68 years, get a baseball mitt and its snows, get a new bicycle and it rains. First week of April always SUCKS! Lets hope I find something valuable with this thing. Good luck hunting!
Just went to use mine for the 1st time today and had this same issue - started to contact the supplier but found your vid while i was waiting and fixed the issues right away - many thanks :)
I was having the same issue. I tossed several batteries that, in hindsight, were probably okay. Thanks to your video, problem is solved and I have a reliable Pro Fine 20.
Your video was a lifesaver. Had the same problem with it cutting off but didn't recognize that the looseness of the battery was the issue. I put a flat rubber faucet washer inside the cap. Worked like a charm. Also, because of this problem, I won't buy another one of these or recommend them.
Thank you for posting this video, so helpful. I had to do this with my last pin pointer but didnt think it would be an issue with my new pin pointer costing over £100! Problem now solved, thank you
Mine is the same! I put a sacagwea dollar in the lid to hold the battery down but mine still dont work right. It will come on and will turn right back off. Its a pos. I have two gp pointers that i use instead bc the minelab one is junk! I wish i could find out how to fix it
good job, I had a different problem, the last beep indicates it has ground balanced and doesn't always do it straight away, so wait for the last beep it may take a little time, but it looks like the pointer isn't working, until you get the last beep!
Thanks for this insight, I was going crazy with a similar issue on my 35, it doesn't turn off but I can hear the battery shaking. If I shake it away from any targets, it'll beep like crazy. Going to try padding the battery compartment and see if that helps.
