If anyone is wondering how to do something like P(-2.8 < Z < 1.4) = 0.9167 the step for that is shift stat/dist, distribution, p, then do P(1.4) then do the same for P(-2.8) The final answer is whatever value you get for P(1.4) subtracted by P(-2.8) which should end up being approximately 0.9167
...And when I saw the table in the stats lecture I thought, yeah right there has got to be a better way, all that messy interpolation. My exams are 8 weeks away and I will become a Jedi Master in this...Presentation wise you are absolutely spot on. I don't know why the heck the tables are needed. Am I going to do the Exam on the same island Tom Hanks was stuck on in Castaway, yeah throw in the abacus while you're at it. lol!
now i understand how to find the probability. but how do i find the n value on x axis if the probability is given. for example: P(Z>n) =0.3015... how do i find n using a calculator? without using a probability distribution table
Got a question, Is there a way to do the function Qnorm in the program R, which shows you percentages before a value? For example Qnorm(0.1) is -1.281 because 10% of the area under the graph is before -1.281. This is the opposite of p(-1.281) that will give me 0.1.
Why not just use the Normal C.D function and use the values of the SND? It gives identical answers and I'm assuming I wouldn't lose marks as all the working out is done via calculator anyway.
hi, can you tell me how to calculate slope on different points? lets say i have eqn " y=25.655+0.575x " i have 10 values of x. how can i do it in my fx991es plus?
Only for this calculator where you set the mean to 0 and the standard deviation to 1 www.examsolutions.net/tutorials/inverse-normal-function/?level=A-Level&board=Edexcel&module=Statistics%20A-Level&topic=1840
Any idea how to enter this question. “ on investigating The labour efficiency an organisation is found that there is typically a favourable mean of $65000 and a standard deviation of $5000. What is the probability that the variance is less than $45000?”
Sharjel Amir you are allowed it, it says symbolical integration functions like graphs not numerical like this calculator does, but check with teachers before, edexcel is not very helpful and they just tell you its not banned.

This video was very helpful. Thank you! I knew the calculator could do this function. But didn't know how to use it ahah
They can do magic. Glad you get it now.
Why not just use the Normal C.D function and use the values of the SND? It gives identical answers and I'm assuming I wouldn't lose marks as all the working out is done via calculator anyway.
Excellent Video!! Loved It.

anyone know how to get the 5 number summery from this calculator because mine only shows min & max
What is the use of fourth one?
Hi I like your video
is it possible to find Z-score from a given probability? Thanks!
Not as far as I am aware on this calculator
ExamSolutions thanks for the speedy replies!
what apps did you use bro?
This is a Casio Emulator which you purchase from Oxford Calculators
is it possible to make a video on finding the "z" value given the probability? Thanks for this video, really helped a lot!!!!!

How can I find Z when I already have the probability????????
Macron Elmacron you compute it using calculus.
z = (x - μ) / σ
You'd want the invert function of this, which the calculator does not support, so you'd be back to using tables
Thank you very much for this.
You are welcome.
Really helpful!
How to do it for a non zero mean?
Hey GOD BLESS YOU
Thank you so much! It was very helpful!
No problem - thanks for watching.
Need help if the given is the area and u will find z how?
Does anyone know how to do problems where it’s like: "What Z value has an area of 0.9706 to its right?"
You need tables to answer such :(
Are you going to do a series of tutorials on D1 in the future?
I hope to, yes.
Does the Casio fx-85GT PLUS have the 'Distribution' calculation type?
Hi did you ever find the distributing function? £25 seems a lot to get a new calculator because mine is missing one function
@@AegisMU Did you find it?
@@ChurroCinema nope had to buy a new one. Theyre not too expensive used on ebay though 😌

thanks bro!! it helped a lot !!!
That's okay - Pleased to hear it helped.
Thanks so much. Now I don't need to carry normal distribution table
can i find value of z(normal variate) if i know the probability!?
Thanks a lot. Have you use a ONLINE graphing calculator? Could you be so kind to recommend the application?
This is a Casio emulator available from Casio
thank you
Can i use this calculator for the s1 edexcel exam?
Sharjel Amir Yes
But it says on the paper that a calculator with integration functions etc cant be used?

hey , can you do poisson distribution for s2 with this ? if so a vid would be brilliant . PS you are my hero
what would u do if it was not 0 but p(1.5
p(2.5)-p(1.5)
What if we know the probability and want to know z value. Is it able to calculate that?
Not that I am aware of.
I want to know how to save area formula in this calculator plz can some one help me?
