Glad you enjoyed the highly nutritious natto. I never acquired the taste for it.

It tasted really strange but something I can probably get used to!

I am planning to make a day trip to Shinhotaka Ropeway and Okuhida Bear Park, departure from Takayama Bus Station. If I buy return bus tickets can I drop off at these two stations and get on the next schedule bus again? Or I need to buy specific bus ticket for drop off these stations? By the way which month was your Shinhotaka Trip?

Hi, super apologies for the super late response. If this information still helps: we skipped the Okuhida Bear Park but the Takayama to Shinhotaka Ropeway is just one bus ride. If bus changes are needed, it would be either back in Takayama or Hirayu Onsen stop. If not, you can actually pay the bus tickets on the bus itself; so you can buy one bus ticket to Shinhotaka Ropeway, and going back, if it’s in the same line, the ticket to the next stop you can pay in cash. We made the trip to Shinhotaka Ropeway on 2nd week of December. :-)

Hi nice video! Thanks for sharing. May I check which time in Dec were you there? We are planning to be there in first week of Dec and as we are a party of 6 we are planning to drive. Hope that the roads are not too snowy or icy. Will you be able to advice? Thanks so much.

Hi! Thanks for watching! We were there on the first week of December, and the roads from Takayama to Shinhotaka/Okuhida onsengo were so far clear. It only snowed in the mountains :-) I believe it gets heavy at the height of winter, perhaps starting on the 3rd or 4th week of December. Still best to check out the weather forecast :-) I hope you’ll have an amazing trip!

Hi there! Do these Nohi buses that go from takayama to shinhotaka accept IC card? or you have to purchase the ticket?

Hello, and thanks for watching! I think you need to purchase tickets at the bus station if you’re coming from Takayama. We rarely used IC cards around the rural areas, even for vendo machines. I hope this helps!
