I love the intro where Taylor walks into the dark workshop and Josue is just chilling in silence and enjoying life
That’s why I hate TR
@@gearbanginentertainment7476 why are you watching him then?
Just mind your own business then v
@@gearbanginentertainment7476 then why are you watching
"Yooo, warning with the lights and camera! My eyes need to adjust and I might have been sleeping, I need my beautysleep!"
@@beratsbuilds y’all clearly don’t know what TR is
Have a feeling the loft will be a huge improvement to the shop organization
I would have done the loft before all this stuff because I simply wouldn't be able to be efficient with such a cluster like this
@@arcadiagreen150 Hell, for the price of those packouts he could have built the loft! That shit is expensive!
@@LowAss720 my original comment was "not a bad way to spend $10,000" lol
@@arcadiagreen150 yeah I would’ve built it out too but he probably needed the pack outs for going to events or something.
It would be the perfect space for more pack out boxes
Spray adhesive for the drawer liners works a treat!
If you set the new tool boxes back to back between the cars you could gain back the wall space and have the tools near buy
I sure hope Milwaukee is supporting you! Great use of pack outs.
I've found one of the best ways to achieve 'everything with a place, everything in its place' is drawer foam. It's a pain to set up, but I've found it helps to see at-a-glance what tools are out in the shop (get the two-color 'sandwich' style foam so it's not a black abyss in the drawer) and gives a 'one-and-only-one place' for things. As a person who sets things down on everything available horizontal surface without thinking and then it's lost for 20 minutes the next time I need it, this has helped a lot.
They also make a Packout floor dolly that you can stack and then roll around the shop.
As a automotive technician my recommendation for drawer liners is 3m spray adhesive
I'd put the work benches with peg boards in the middle of the open area together so that all tools are centralized. Having some tools on one side and some tools on the other side will eventually be a nightmare.
Look at all that red! Man I love Milwaukee stuff, I’m super jealous!
That Milwaukee box with the retractable pegboard is the truth. Bought one a couple years ago when I was starting as a trailer mechanic.
Looks mint mate... Milwaukee is the nuts.... love the shop updates mate, keep em coming 👍 🇦🇺
I used sprayable contact cement on my mats. Works great, better coverage than a couple of drops of superglue here and there
Use 3M vhb double sided tape to hold down the mats. That's what I use in mine, and it's been holding up fine for years.
Can't wait for your progress shop-wise, build-wise, and channel wise that is about to come. I'm here for it!
Hi Taylor, loved the brief cameo from Chrissy, very sweet.
I own a small remodeling business and have used the packout system for a couple of years and I love it! Stoked to see you implementing it for more mechanical use in a shop. I love the idea it looks sweet!
Hopefully Milwaukee comped all of that and strokes you a big check on a regular basis. I had no idea the packouts could do that and that solution will work great in our shop. Half of the Milwaukee stuff I have is because of you.
Get a can of 3M Super 77 for the drawer mats. It always nice to have can of spray adhesive laying around when you need it.
Carpet or rug tape works really well holding the drawer liners in. super cheap for a roll or two.
it seems weird to me to use a ton of portable tool boxes as essentially a fixed tool chest. also when those are weighed down with tools, i hope your wall mount brackets won't rip off and fall.
I think the idea behind the portable tool boxes is if he ever wants/needs to bring extra to the track with him, its easier than bringing a whole extra toolbox or just loose tools.
I agree. It's nice to be able to take stuff with you if your going somewhere and it's ready to go but that seems overkill with 2 sets. I could skip the shelves and build my own those don't look super strong but hey its not my money and he can do as he pleases.
the sounds in this!!! ahhhh its sooo good!!! i love all the sound editing you do for your time lapses
You probably need to do task based organization for your most common tasks, probably use your old Milwaukee box for tool based organization and a pack out or small box for the most common tools that you don't want to duplicate for several tasks.
This would allow you to move your track task tools from your trailer to your garage without taking too much time or leaving without a critical tool.
You could do Kaizen foam cutouts for those boxes so you can quickly identify any missing tools.
Last, look in to industrial pallet racking and a lift that will allow you to go vertical with spares and other heavy items you want to keep under the roof.
Anything that doesn't cover probably isn't used very much. You can either go vertical with it or put it in your container.
I have three towers of packout boxes on wheels for mobile storage. They go into the trailers when needed. I can also pull of a tower depending on what is stored in them. This saves on wall space which is full in my garage. Great work.
Looks gr8 man. Definitely time for some banners around the shop to complete the look. 👍
Taylor I used 3m headliner or contact cement spray for my toolboxes to hold that rubber pads in place 2 cans got it with 3 of those same boxes you got buddy shops coming together bro great job I’m almost done with my 40’x84’ I know the struggles of organization especially being super ocd lol
I'm not sure why but I'm loving this video right now. Very satisfying to watch the organization 👍
Those Milwaukee organizers are pretty good and not just for tools. Me and a couple of friends use them for MTG cards!
This is a dream of mine. I love getting new tool boxes to organize and fill with tools I hardly use ha ha ha
I’ve been living vicariously through you for a while, but the shop organization is the cat’s pajamas. Congrats on continuing progressing.
The amount of Milwaukee you have…. Love it!!
Making a toolbox island with the two new flattop boxes + the original toolbox would have been a great way to gain wall space while avoiding duplication and misplacement of tools.
3m spray adhesive will work good for drawer liners.
I love a nice organized work shop. I have my rolling tool box and a bench on wheels in the middle so I can easily move it if I need a large space for a project. Work spaces need to evolve all the time.
Think about setting up a wiring packout stack and put it on dolly wheels. Then you can grab the whole thing. Bring it to a bench and all the electrics are there.
Get some 3M thin film double sided low surface energy tape. you can get a 1/4" wide roll of the stuff and just do the edges of the mats to keep it in place. that stuff sticks to anything.
Spray contact adhesive for the rubber mats works 👍!!
Spray contact cement for indoor/outdoor carpet etc in the drawers for the mats.
Get cheap foam inserts for the drawers. That way they have a spot for each tool. Get pluck foam so you can make ones for drills and odd shaped objects.
I highly recommend 3M Super 77 Spray glue for things like the drawer liners and really anything else you need to stick together like that.
You can also buy some sticks of horizontal e-track in whatever length you need and screw those to the wall, thats what the PACKOUT racking plates were designed for.
freekin love the organisation shop videos and mostly for your new building !!
I have a bunch of those pack-out boxes, I find them really convenient and well-made. I like your mounting system for them. I will have to check out those bench-style toolboxes. They seem well made. Your garage has turned out great, you'll get many years of use from it.
This is the video I’ve been looking for finally a do it yourself car guy that gets it thank you for the ideas
“A place for everything and everything in its place” truer words!
it's nice to see a fellow Milwaukee fanatic
Ever thought about getting some Art on the walls?
Maybe Graffiti on the backside of the shop doors?
That would be awesome!
I just snagged a 72 inch U.S. general to replace my old box. I was so relieved it was fully assembled.
I see a loft in your future….over the side with the single door. Killer shop btw, it’s definitely a dream of mine!
those new tool boxes are SICK!!!
As milwaukee tool fanatic I'm loving this bro!
Oh no, T-Rays Milwaukee Addiction worsens.
And we're all enjoying the ride 🤣
Ray,
Tool Box liners.
Like you I have tried EVERYTHING. I tried different types of liner materials
And it all bunches up. I tried gluing it down, no luck. FINALLY I found the
PERFECT drawer liner & IT IS FREE!!! Corrugated cardboard. Cut yourself some
drawer sized squares out of corrugated cardboard. It does not bunch up. You
can drop sharp heavy tools into a drawer it dont care. If you want to get fancy
you can spray paint the cardboard but I never have.
!
the shop is awesome, I'm looking forward to future videos as you continue making it yours!
I have six sets of those same shelves in my hangar, I put casters on each leg. Easy to move if needed and easy to move to clean under.
You could get a few sheets of 3/4 plywood and mount to the wall and mount the smaller stuff to that. Paint it white so it blends in with the walls. Just a thought
I recommend using the Packout dollys at the bottom instead of using shelf brackets. Makes them very portable to bring close to the cars and easy to change out the Packouts required for the task. Plus get a couple of Packout work tops.
Being a plumber by by trade who uses Milwaukee tools and pack out accessories this video made me so happy. Lol but I know for a fact that all that was a very shiny and pretty penny 🤣 it looks so good! Where's a sponsorship Milwaukee?? Lol
Love the shop updates you put so much thought into things but also keep it realistic for us normal guys. Thanks man!
I use double sided tape to keep my mats in my drawers. Shop looks good!
Milwaukee makes such awesome stuff. I work in HVAC and its great to keep all my stuff organized. Wish I had a shop like yours for projects and more packout stuff lol
I love the packout idea - I use the big one & a couple organizers for my ‘go box’ when I go to the track. It’s now a permanent second set of tools/spares for my truck. I grab the impacts out of the garage, hook up the trailer, and I’m ready to go!
Hey T.Ray, not for nothing bro. You have came along way from building a bad ass ramcharger. To where you are now. Proud of you bro 💯. And for anyone who's listening.. it just shows, never giving up will put you where you want to be. Good job on all of the progress. 🤘🏼
I bought the same box for work about a year ago and it has been a welcome addition. Holds all my metal fab tools and my 2 welding hoods.
Hell yeah it’s like a tool time video but even better cuz organization and new stuff 🤤
Mezzanin build 👌🏻 for storage and hangout area 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
The montage of adding tools to the toolboxes was oddly satisfying... 🤔
Love this! Glad y’all got some free time to organize and really get to enjoy setting up the shop more!
I must’ve reorganized the shop 4 times before I found something that worked and flowed nicely. Definitely share your process and progress if you can.
Mezzanine with couch SIM set up etc would be ideal nice little chillout area
About damn time Milwaukee sponsored the channel!
Spray glue works great for the drawer mats
Shop looks incredible, congratulations and well earned! I’d suggest maybe a shade on the windows. Keep out prying eyes with all that nice Milwaukee stuff on there. Know you have Simply Safe and relatively private but you never know!
I always love the shop videos. I seem to always be organizing my shop that’s the same size as yours. Those Milwaukee boxes are nice!
That setup is badass... I love storage and organization! Can't wait to get some new boxes for my shop!
Organization is such a personal thing. You just got to do what works best for you!
Hahaha the intro josue just chillin in the dark 😂 i had to rewind and play it back to make sure i seen that right
Milwaukee just need to get this guy sponsorship
One way you can increase "wall space" is to put things back to back in a line to create a "wall" to separate spaces.
congrats brother. every step you make forward makes ME feel great. So ; I know you must be loving it.
Use headliner adhesive for the tool box drawer liners used mine in a professional setting and worked great for years never peeled up
Looks great! I have a very similar large shelving unit which holds the large black/yellow totes extremely well. I keep my more obscure tools somewhat organized in those and out of the way. I really like how that MW work bench looks.
Sunex makes the best master 3/8 drive set, 80 piece set. its about $250. they also make 1/2 & 1/4. they are by far the best bang for you're buck. you should also get the dollys for the packout drawers so you can move them where ever you're working. trust me I'm a tool nut!
I love what you guys did there with the Packout system. I’m looking to do something similar but not as many. Something you might want to look into for the bottom row of stuff are the rolling platforms with casters for that system. For what’s going to be down on the floor anyway, that’s how I plan to do mine. Then I can just roll them around if I have to. They even make a little counter top type thing for the top of your stack, if that’s applicable for your situation. Thank you for sharing! Really cool workspace you have there! 👍🏼
I love the shop upgrade videos!! Keep it up T-Ray!
Holy s***. Not going to lie when this project first started I didn't have slot of hope but damn that thing looks good. 👌🏽. Real life hot wheels
Taylor check out the packout garage storage stuff they make battery holders that hook to there wall plates as well as a box tht has a lift front door for cans of stuff.
Kind of like a French cleat system. Modular is def the way to go.
I wish I was this organized!!
I'm a bit late to the video, but Taylor you started my milwaukee obsession years ago. Now I'm a contractor with tons of tools and packouts and love them all. What a great setup you have built, I love it. It seems you're already hitting a "I need another packout for x, y, and z" stage.
Taylor, love the organization efforts for the shop and congrats on the success of the Vettes first comp.
I was wondering if there is a configuration you could do, using the beefy steel shelving (buy another so you have for both stations). Essentially, use that as a frame and install the Milwaukee boxes to the frame. That way, you're not mounting them to the wall. Also, you can install beefy wheels on the racks to allow them to roll around if you ever need to clean behind or move to a different area of the shop.
Just an idea, I know it's still a work in progress and I was thinking of how heavy some of those red boxes might end up getting.
Milwaukee plz sponsor this man!
When your partner comes out to be close to you for just a second in the time lapse. Love it. So precious
I think myself I would have put both roll around toolboxes at the "end" of the bays. Would split up the areas and left open the walls.
thats a awsome idea i think i would of done packout dollys on the bottom with some packout worktops laying around just if i need to make a extra dolly to have around the shop.
Yes!! Been looking forward to a shop update for a while now.
Concgrats on the Vette build Taylor awesome job.The work shop build is coming along great 👍🏼.just a suggestion you have alot a cordless tools in the main tool box maybe have a peg wall mounted next to the tool box and mount your chargers on this and nominate that as a charging station… love watching your channel the content is awesome,Great job Taylor.
Hey Taylor those impact holders and stuff would go good on the Peg board on the tool boxes
For the pads in the drawers of the toolboxes you can use spray adhesive
A good place for those shelf packs is above your pegboard (or just besides it). It free's up the pegboard for those random things you need all the time (electrical tape as a stupid example), and gives a great place for your battery chargers to live. Also, dont forget to utilize those in the trailer for fast traveling.
Nice shop, thanks for the update. Neat stuff. Enjoyed watching 😁✌️
