The service interval is extended on the 850 compared to the 900? I think it is driven by the oil capacity which is quite small on this engine. I believe the excuse that the 850 is in a lower state of tune they are happy with the longer interval. Great value bike,

As always, awesome video! However, EBD can I ask how old you are? I want to know how many years I have left before I succumb to getting an adventure bike! 😂
I am 63. I got a GSXR1000 K5 . You have to be careful with the power which is everywhere but its very comfy, not wristy cos its small and its easy to push around. Its too fast for busy UK roads really but the power/weight (170bhp/185kgs wet) make it basically the fastest thing on the road - which is Big Fun. Adventure bikes are too heavy and top-heavy as well . I like my little sports bike!
Nice! I think I might buy one of these with the available low seat because I’m so short. I sat on one with the regular seat yesterday and it was manageable. The lower seat option would make it feel great for me at 5’1” 😳 😂
Cheers for this. As I'm a short bloke and getting on a bit It could well be a contender to replace my 1250GS once that becomes too heavy for me to handle. I tried the 800 but just found it a bit unengaging and the 1200 was way too big and heavy. A smaller lighter adv bike is where I'll be heading eventually as after having 3 GS's I can't see me going back to a non adv style bike. I wouldn't worry about the service intervals as they all tend to require an annual service anyway if you've not done the 6000/8000/9000/12000 etc.
Great review, Think the 850 is the best out of the Tiger 888cc model range, how you getting on with the more vibey feel of the T plane crank on UK roads ? Is there any way to remap to gain the extra horses the 900 Tiger has over 850 ?
Yeah it's pretty good. It might annoy on longer trips but honestly, upto 80mph it's fine. You could definitely do a remap and claim back those horses. 👍
@@Englishbikerdan Sounds good, I didn't like the vibes & lack of power of the 900 Rally Pro i rode (as well as that stupid tacho display), but I've been spoilt with owning smoother & more powerful 1050's. I've decided to wait for 1160 Tiger, but saddened it's a T plane crank. Am hoping they put a full fat chain driven 120 degree crank 1160 Speedie motor in a road based 1200 Tiger Sport or Sprint 👍
Honest question here. Between this and the new 2024 f800gs. Which one and why? (I’ll be honest the GS comes better equipped and i can ecu the engine to be the exact same f900gs power. Thanks in advance for those of you who reply. ❤
I have rode the 850 and i loved the bike! but i don't think i would buy it. mainly not because of what is and has but because of what is doesnt have. for instance, i would rather buy the 900 gt to have cruise control and the bigger dash. i hated that small dash, the tachometer makes no sense! sure, it is not a bike in which you will allways be at the red line, but i want to be able to look and realise what RPM i'm at without wasting 10 seconds. i believe the bigger dash on the 900 will solve that issue but I haven't tried it. and i was a little bit annoyed by the vibrations, but i do own a street triple with that smoth 3 cilinder. overall, i loved the bike and, has i said, i wouldn't buy it because of the small details i mentioned. as they say, the devil is in the details. ride safe!
@@Englishbikerdan It's not that i'm a very experienced rider or anything like that, but I believe it's a great begginer bike. It is a great bike, but it lacks a few extras to be a great touring bike, rather the good bike it already is. but I believe it is suposed to be like that, so you would consider the 900GT. But that's just my opinion, If the bike suits you, that's what's important. enjoy it ;)

That might mean you just have full preload? Can you move it either way? If not I'd get that back to the dealer. Mine is fine, can move it both ways.
@@Englishbikerdan it won't move either way I'll call them get them to look at it the first service is nearly due. Brilliant bike very pleased with it look forward yo seeing more videos soon on yours 😁
If that crash bar is mounted to the beak's subframe which is not a load-bearing structure, wouldn't it break the subframe if the bike tips over?
Nice review. 🙂
I will go try it very soon 🙂.
Just get my license. 🙂 and this bike it's compatible A2.
Look like a good bike to commute 2 of us (wife and I).🙂
As always, awesome video!
How’s the screen.
Have you still got the stock screen or have you changed it
I went with the Puig touring screen. Long term review coming soon.
Do you thinking different tires would improve handling. Some of us will never go off road.
How does the screen compare to the cbr650r? I feel like the cbr but am tempted by the tiger for longer distance comford - mainly wind.
A lot taller and gives a fair bit more wind protection on the Tiger. Still noisy but less blast.
I tried to check in trident London. They dint have 850 in stock!!! How is the seat height is it manageable for 5.7 height? TIA.
I'm the same height, it's all good.
@@Englishbikerdan great thanks mate
No Triumph cruise control available for this one I’m afraid🤷🏻but have a look at something like the Kaoko cruise control option
When’s a review coming on the Zard exhaust ?
In the next few weeks, need to record some good flybys first.
How about vibrations? Heard it has vibrations after 130 km/h, and some versions even in 3-5 prm range.
I'll do a long term review soon. 👍
What makes this extremely engaging is that you definitely know what you are talking about. Can you again confirm the mpg?
Cheers, I'll do an update vid when I've put the more miles on her.
more tiger 850 videos please.
Honest question here. Between this and the new 2024 f800gs. Which one and why? (I’ll be honest the GS comes better equipped and i can ecu the engine to be the exact same f900gs power. Thanks in advance for those of you who reply. ❤
Thnx for your sharing. 👍 its so nice.
Thanks for watching.
I have rode the 850 and i loved the bike! but i don't think i would buy it. mainly not because of what is and has but because of what is doesnt have. for instance, i would rather buy the 900 gt to have cruise control and the bigger dash. i hated that small dash, the tachometer makes no sense! sure, it is not a bike in which you will allways be at the red line, but i want to be able to look and realise what RPM i'm at without wasting 10 seconds. i believe the bigger dash on the 900 will solve that issue but I haven't tried it. and i was a little bit annoyed by the vibrations, but i do own a street triple with that smoth 3 cilinder. overall, i loved the bike and, has i said, i wouldn't buy it because of the small details i mentioned. as they say, the devil is in the details. ride safe!
Sounds like it's not the right bike for you. 👍
But that's just my opinion, If the bike suits you, that's what's important. enjoy it ;)
@@speedyks255 It's as it is designed, a stripped back simpler 900. No fancy items but still the great chassis and engine and brakes. It's a fantastic bike! But ride what suits your needs as I always say! Cheers. 👍
i'm 5th 7in as well, we could be twins :P
Can you add cruise control to this bike ?
Dan you promised a “why I didn’t buy a 900 tiger” is that one still on the horizon? I’m still making my choice.
Yes, definitely a video I'm going to do. Unfortunately my day job gets in the way of bike videos at times.
@@Englishbikerdan what a day job? With all the millions You Tube must provide😁? standing by!
I thought the 850 had 10,000 mile intervals like the trident. Is that not the case?
The press release originally stated 10,000 miles service intervals but this was amended to 6,000 miles in April this year.
Love this bike…
18:23 - when you said "a bit hot there" did you mean some hot air emitting from the engine to your leg?
He probably meant that he was going a bit fast into the bend
As in, a little too quick into the corner. :)
Why get this over the 900GT? When you've added all the bits and pieces you want the prices must be close?
The GT with the extras was over £13k. This was just over £11k so I still saved a good amount. Best of all it hardly feels any different for the riding I'll be doing.
I’m 5’7 with a 28 inseam will I be capable
Yeah I think so, on lower seat setting.
@@Englishbikerdan thanks Dan! Is this bike very jumpy in power. I want to upgrade from my 250cc to this bike as a forever bike
~Well I just bought Tiger 900 GT PRO, and now wonder maybe done mistake paying about 13200...this one is much more cheaper....
did you swap your cb650r ?
Traded it in yeah.
How does it compare to the new 2021 Honda NC750X?
I've not ridden that yet but it seems to be a bit less in terms of performance.
can we add quick shifter on this bike
Yes indeed, I have one on this one.
Why this versus 660 Sport?
What is your height?
"Thats what's she said" :)
Please review the Husqvarna svartpilen 401
I'll get round to it soon 👍
I’m about 5’7/5’8. Would I fit on this haha!
Only one way to know for sure! 😬
nice test how the quick shifter goes under 5000 rpm
Yeah it's so smooth!
@@Englishbikerdan thank you
Squirrels, possibly the most indecisive creatures on earth……second only to motorcyclists trying to decide on their next new bike 😆😆🤪!
Haha, true!
