My favorite back up takedown
I do a variation of this I call a lazy lateral. A lot of times I’ll do this peeling someone off the cage. Instead of going for the under hook i V block their shoulder and arm pit so that when I drop I push them over to their back, even if I don’t have the momentum to drop them to their back. So far the worst case scenario is a land and half guard and immediately sweep.
Sounds like a shoulder throw
@@Happy.Stupid.Neighbor I drop towards the wizzer side.
Thank you Sensei 🙏 ❤
I love this so much, bless !
Yes
love this
I know a nice hip in kick variation for this lateral.
Lateral drop!
Uki waza
I feel like this might work well for me since I don't know many takedowns but more experienced partners are always getting underhook on me and I always feel like I need to fight that to switch around and get underhook on them. But with this, if they have underhook you just step your knee between their legs, fall and rotate, and take them down. Can't wait to try it.
So what did you find out?! Would love to know before I start trying this.
Classic sambo move ! Nice job
Judo
Sambo doesn’t exist
@@yuzkobaby6231 yeah it does it's a mix wrestling and judo
@@gypsygypsy7185 sambo incorporates judo though
Sambo is a russian fairy tale! 🧚♂️
Buena proyeccion..
More details please
Im using this against a stronger opponent in my gym ill let you know if it worked for me i think im gonna nail it
Update : it kind of worked, opponent was surprised
godspeed young padawan
“Kind of”? I imagine him just falling into top side half guard … that’s what’ll probably happen to me
gold
So many doing it now. You better watch what you say to people. Better to assume that everyone you talk to knows it now.
I’m 44 . Am I too old to start this ?
Like a Yoko Otoshi ?
👍
Which instructional is this from
Standing2Ground 3: Upper body Takedowns, vol5 Overhooks. (Funny enough just watched this section this morning 😂)
The music is so bad. Good move though
They took ne-waza, now they're taking the takedown game too 😅
It’s a lat drop in wrestling
Pretty much yeah, this is just what judo guys (and now bjj guys) call it
This is actually just a straight lat drop and not uki waza. You fall on your side in uki waza. He also says uki wrong, lol.
@@___Bebo___you talking about John danaher the man that birthed Gordon Ryan 😂 I think he knows what he's doing
@@eriksatterfield4755 John Danaher has gimpy knees and could never be physical enough to be a takedown artist. He has a hard on for the Japanese name for everything even though he doesn't speak Japanese. It's not Uki Waza, I'm a Judo black belt and would throw Danaher on his ass.
@@eriksatterfield4755 If Danaher was teaching hook sweep variations and the 1 handed RNC I would shut up, he's not, and clueless.
Oss 🔥🔥🔥
great option against those that natural shift weight forward
Y'all really critiquing one of the greatest Jiu Jitsu coaches of all time on his demonstration 😂😂 like this man been doing this as his career as his job for more than 20 years 😂😂
Regardless if it's 1 year or 20 years, there are always little details that make a move more effective. No one is susceptible to critique or learning. I am sure he doesn't mind being critiqued because that is how you improve.
Top...show...oss
Yoko wakare
Is it legal is gi, I'm scared refs will say it's a slam
In Judo ( it's a judo move by the way ), we call it uki waza .
He literally says that lol
To me, this looks far more like Yoko Guruma, right?
i really want my first stripe in bjj
Keep with it!! It’ll come sooner than you think!
are you in it for the belts, or the actual skill? focus on being the best you can be and everything else will come. good luck on your journey
Judo is beautiful
I hope that no one has a high blood
Its all judo
Until you get on the ground and start playing in guards
@@eriksatterfield4755 correct, however, the takedown itself is still judo not bjj. ppl need to acknowledge the main weakness of bjj - it has little to no takedowns - thats where judo/sambo comes in. idk why ppl consider judo takedowns as part of bjj.
Does he pinch his knees around his when he's turning?
No
What's this takedown called?
Yoko guruma
Uke waza
Lat drop in wrestling. Make sure you don’t force it or it won’t work. He has to be pushing you so that you use his momentum. Otherwise he can just put his weight back and let you fall and cover you. Hip should bump him on the way over to endure he doesn’t just stick you on the mat. It requires good timing. Works well if he is coming up off as shot and still pushing
That could easily blow out your opponents or Uki’s right knee if he resists and doesn’t go with the flow.
No it can’t lol. Wrestlers do this move non stop. The opponent is literally falling forward, you aren’t jumping guard on or above their knee.
Thought he was kissin him
Nooooooooooo
OOOOOOHHHH He steps under him and drops..... I think
It wouldn't work if the person that your grabbing drops their weight down on top of u in the middle of the move.
Good move bad music
Bjj No Gi Takedown??? Olympic Wrestling takedown...
No wrestling shoes, it does change what works according to danaher.
...and what is 'olympic' wrestling?
Isn’t this a sambo technique?
SAMBO is JJJ and central Asian wrestling combined all wrestling styles are converging now (no-Gi BJJ, no-Gi Judo, American College wrestling, Asian traditional wrestling)
Think of grappling as a four dimensional holistic system were each dimension focuses its mechanics signature moves:
1.Greco Roman wrestling; arms against arms upper torso.
2. Freestyle/folklore; arms against legs lower waist.
3. Brazilian jiu-jitsu; legs against arms upper torso.
4. Sambo: Legs against legs lower waist.
Combine all 4 elements and become deadly 👊💥💯‼🥋
@@navim2582 one of the worst takes I have heard.
Is your partner in danger if he post at the overbooked arm?
It exists in multiple grappling styles.
Judo
That aint no bjj.just saying
He makes everything seem some technical and complex. " JUST DO THE DAMN THING" and dint forget take your steroids. Technical, shmecnical Danaher..
It's an art Martial Art that's part of what makes it beautiful and that's with anything. You take up a trade they don't just fix things they explain the steps and the reasons. Air head 😂
And your partner in the whizzer posts his arm and snappety snap
Thas on him lol
