PS2 Online Veteran here: SWBF2 net code wasn’t perfect and the hit detection was really off. Got to hit your target slightly behind them or ahead. The sniping was almost impossible back in PS2 era, but at the same time it was super awarding.
I feel your absolute pain with the loading screen, I was so taken aback on how they managed to fuck that up. I was just playing the sound in my head before I fell asleep last night due to hype, before I even played. Everybody knows it’s “boo boo boo boo, bee bee bee bee bee, brrrrr”

did NO ONE NOTICE crouching is bugged in BF1 and BF2's Campaign has ALL the mission ending Cutscenes completely missing!! the best part for many of BF2

My unfortunate prediction looks like it came true. Its a shame how this is the norm aka as expected from game developers now a days. Even more tragic that it's Star Wars to add even more insult.

I just knew to wait on this, and it was hard not being blinded by the nostalgia. But that’s just classic gaming these days. Terrible servers on launch. 35 dollars for a 20 year old game u can just buy and mod to make it look better for 5 gbs too. There’s always a catch. They are 100% stealing from us
@@aquariuskudo for console players that don’t have any other access to the game, yeah call it a rip off sure. But for pc players having the same issues when they can just get the originals for cheaper, less gigs, then yeah it’s kinda stealing

For being a 20 year old game the graphics look pretty good.
It’s such a pain to play with friends on PS5. The game “lobby” is nonexistent and it crashed every time I tried to join his game in the Chat menu. I eventually joined a game at its tail end and it shut down my PS5 completely.
I’ll stick to emulating it.
Single-player is great but the multiplayer needs work

I’m not sure if anybody else noticed this right but an instant action mode what happened to shuffle? I thought you could shuffle the Maps that you had in the queue am I stupid?
In BF2 this feature only exists if you are hosting a multiplayer session. Offline is always play in order. However BF1 has the shuffle.
There are gun upgrades, you have to get so many kills per game with the weapon to unlock them, once you unlock them enough the upgrades become permanent
64 times for each one to become permanent 32-64 let’s you get these bonuses faster
Not permanent in multi, still need to earn in game.

Having played both on the PS2 and have long since gotten rid of that console, My only classic Battlefront fix for years was on the psp system (still have it). So to now have this on the switch is incredible. I predominantly only ever played single player so this is pretty much everything i was hoping it to be
I'm glad I bought it on steam because I got a refund after 10 minutes of playing, can't go back I loved it back in the day, but it feels awful now.
No refunds is why I'm very very cautious when buying games on PlayStation & that I wait for deep discounts to offset if I'm cheated.
@@j.j.9511 Even with Steam, you feel less inclined to bother with wasting your 2 hours before being unable to refund. Like if an update fixes things I'd like to not refund, but I almost want to just to stick it to Aspyr. But the console ports will sell like hotcakes regardless so I guess my refund doesn't mean anything in the end.
The audio problems I actually encountered the other day in the original battlefront 2 on Xbox one. But didn’t happen when I played it like a few weeks ago
I'm having issues with the audio on my game. The music and fx are switching off. Hoping these bugs get fixed. XL mode is a lot of fun. Loving hero assault on Kamino. Also, what's up with Kit Fisto's lightsaber?
I think his lightsaber is meant to be like that. They are basting it off how it looked underwater when he used it in the micro clone wars series. Why it still looks like that on land, idk. I guess it meant to establish a unique design compared to the other heroes, same with Ventress having a nunchuck lightsaber.
I played 2 1/2 hours last night and I had constant technical issues black screens when HDR was enabled. The controls feel off. It totally feels like a 2005 game. I was expecting so much more and to feel more modernized. I never thought I would say good job. I want to go 2017 battlefront 2 over this trash!
What about the movie clips, are those still in SD or did they at least bring those up to HD?
I’d love to be able to play galactic conquest with or against at least one friend also I most definitely felt that audio glitch I kept looking off the map in mygeeto and thought some droids fell under the map
Y'all. It has literally been less than 24 hours and they are having to retrofit the multiplayer on to new servers. Chill tf out and give them some time to get things sorted

@@3venFl0wsometimes they’re not the ones in control, if you wanna blame anyone for a rushed product blame Lucasfilm, Aspyr has to meet their deadlines and clearly they had wayyy more trouble in too little time
Aside from the missing cut scenes in the campaign and some audio issues the single player is fine. AI upscale textures are a cop out and really just make things look crisper but don't actually add any fidelity. But then there is the multiplayer. I'm on Xbox and its unplayable when not on the dedicated servers. The hit reg is atrocious online, the server connections are brutal and players are teleporting everywhere. Also, I'm noticing that sometimes shots dont register and no damage is done even if I shot a player in the chest. Its a mess and if they dont patch and fix these things, then they are going to have a ton of refunds.

The Audio is definitely slowed down. I noticed in battlefront 2 tutorial. I don’t think it’s intentional cause the victory music and the objective beeps are Definitely slower and maybe lower pitched. I hope they fix it
Does audio syncs to the frame rate?
At least Steam gives you a period of 2 weeks for a refund, sometimes they even refund games beyond that so I think I'll wait for a bit and hopefully devs fix online multiplayer.
Looks like Battlefront 2004 in the classic collection still only has a 28v28 bot count in Instant Action, which for me is pretty disappointing as I was expecting an updated bot count of 64 like Battlefront II had. In addition, some bots seemed to not load in all the way which made some instant action matches really one-sided. Matches seemed difficult on your side even with easy mode selected. Idk, hope they look at the collection again and tweak some things if they can.
I was excited to play at launch with my friend on ps5 but it appears aspyr has pulled a patch back and he is now stuck on a older version of the game making it impossible to play together bit of a bummer but single player is everything I remember
I played with a few mates last night and we struggled with the tracking and hit registration and my shots would miss at point blank when I was aiming there.
The shacking when spawning in happened all the time and we had quick conquest games too! BF1 I found more enjoyable cause of the matches being longer. Some of the matches were a bit one sided a few times but that’s expected
The plus side is setting up your own lobbies with a few mates against just bots. My mates and I did that with hero assault to have a bit of fun
The only reason I bought the switch version since I don’t have Friends that play pc versions of battlefront as everyone I know uses PlayStation versions or uses a switch. If we can’t play with friends that’s just depressing.
Edit: I played with my roomate last night online. It’s easy to since you can invite people on your friends list once you join a match.
I feel like there a balance issues with teams where one team could have 10 while the another have 20 or 25 on the other
Only issue i have is that online servers are all 80+ ping on ps5 and it feels terrible immediately switched to galactic conquest for a while
All of the loading screens have slowed sound for some reason
There isn't even an inverted option, so it's unplayable for me. How could they forget such a basic feature?
I'm almost too flabbergasted to feel anything...

Ive heard that the cutscenes for the campaign don’t use all the ones from the original game like there’s some missing
When joining an online match on BF2 via searching for a match, anytime I change the search criteria for finding a match the game just crashes.
I got the PC version, but I think I'm going to return it once I get home. Not because of your review but the word of mouth is just wait for a sale/price drop and of course bug fixing.

Tried xbox controller and it disconnected every 2s when in a vehicle. Switched to mouse and keyboard and started spinning in a circle and it wouldn't stop. Enjoyed it until then.
Why is private match locked at 30 fps on ps5 if your host? If you join a lobby it’s 60 but 30 when u start your own it’s mad annoying
Maybe it's a case of your device reserving some of its processing power to host the session for everyone else but it reserves to many resources for that purpose?
@@Kakarot64. I’m not sure I think it’s a bug tbh cus even with no bots it’s locked at 30 fps but I don’t get any frame drops on dedicated servers, really hoping it gets fixed
I ended up refunding it on Xbox. Multi servers were laggy. Controls are trash. Feels like a huge deadzone where it's slow to turn and then accelerates fast when full stick. You see full strafe battles where no one can hit shit and they end up spamming nads.
Dedicated servers have AA turned off, which would be fine if the controls were'nt so shit.
Fuck the nad spam. Half your deaths are from brain dead team mates throwing nads at the wall.
People just camp vehicles rack up kills and pick the hero, which makes it hard to grab a hero.
The games are way too short. They needed to increase the ticket counts because some games can end in 2 minutes.
I can see multi dying off fast which defeats the point of getting it, so that Plus the servers are laggy as shit.
They couldn’t even fix some of the bugs? The Naboo corner glitch is still there
Controls on PS5 suck, I don’t know how you are getting snappy turns like that. I have my sensitivity at max and it’s still kinda slow.

Yeah I’m on PS4 and the sensitivity like, takes a second to build up speed? Starts out slow and gets faster the longer you turn in one direction. It’s horrible, makes responsive reactions impossible.
And the audio seems to come out of completely random locations and directions.
On xbox too. Bf1 plays better than 2.
sounds like theyve really not tested anything for any console/pc, its a shame, i was truly looking forward runnin about mulitplayer likes it 2005 on steam, with a live playerbase

Offline is good. And thats enough for me. Any problem i had with controls I fixed in the settings. Graphics are fine to me not everything needs to be realistic. The more realistic a game is the more I tend to notice the graphical errors
Its seems the only time I played a game was good, I have to to have little to no expectations on the game. I didnt have any expectations for helldivers 2 and I was hyped about the classic collection multiplayer. Unfortunately, if aspyr doesnt fix the issue with 24-48 hours, based on past experience I dont see many people coming back even if multiplayer was fixed. If the multiplayer is fixed, I expect the servers to have the same low numbers as the original PC version.
All i wanted was private Galactic Conquest and that was a big rip especially the online multiplayer
I bought it for offline play and it's working fine for me on switch. I see a lot of UA-camrs with videos saying it has "big problems" or "I'm worried" but honestly seems fine to me. Maybe the controls could be better, but yeah I'm cool with this game

Most of the problems are with the multiplayer. If you got it solely for the singleplayer it's perfectly fine, and the switch is probably one of the best consoles to get it on for that mobility factor. How does the game run on switch btw?

Yeah, so I didn't even open it I literally just refunded on the spot when it came out. I didn't want to upset myself anymore. The reason for buying this, especially being an Aussie too, was to get onto some servers and actually just get online for a quality sesh
Hello guys! (Bug Tester)
Ok, so I have been testing the PS5 port all this morning, and there are some minor bugs here and there and some graphical. But the cutscenes on the campaign were there, the game works fine on PS5 and no major issues were spotted througout 6 hours of playtime. I tested BF1 and it worked perfectly fine except for the odd sound passing of the sound effects in the loading screens. And these issues are sadly present in the BF2 port aswell, but it seems like they worked hard on BF1 and didn’t get enough time to work on BF2 so maybe its going to get fixed… hopefully. Either way, am really happy about it coming to PS5 and playstation in general and I am looking forward to playing it more and more and seeing if any patches pop up! 👍
Issues:
* Hud in BF2 is miss aligned and off center on most hud elements.
* Music is too low on BF2 and soldier voices don’t work properly. (on BF2 Multiplayer only)
* Bloom effects on Mustafar and on planets in spacebattle and some fog shaders are missing, also indirect lighting is completely gone from the game…
* Framerate seems great in VRR but seems buggy without it… not sure whats going on but I feel like its the way the game always has been. I have played the game over 1500+ hours on Xbox and PC combined, so if there is a small change I will catch it.
* Major Audio Ramping bugs, the audio queues are inverted and in some cases in slomo.
* BF1 has bugged loading screen audio.
* sometimes when you host your own server on BF2 it gives the host 30fps limited? Weird but it is a bug, and can be fixed.
Many more small issues but that most of the bad ones. These are only bugs that I’ve seen personally on my PS5 unit. Other issues may be worse on other platforms.
Honestly I never played the originals for the multiplayer (aside from split screen) so I can wait and enjoy until that whole clusterf is fixed

Playing classic BFII online was always messy, I rearly played online back in the day. Single player was more fun.

So basically, it was supposed to do one thing and it couldnt do that, and then charged 35 dollars for,games you can buy for arround 5 each. Cash grab anyone? There was a reason I wasnt excited. Also 60 GB for no significant graphical enhancements is just sad.

I feel the main appeal of this release is playing it on a nintendo switch in handheld mode.
Being able to take this game on the go while being able to play on the Tv and handheld mode is insane enough. Feels buttery smooth and is definitely better than the psp port they attempted a long time ago! This is the reason I only got the classic collection on switch

Honestly the singleplayer is amazing, they just need to release a few patches for multiplayer and it's gonna be great once they fix it.

A 20 year old game should not need any updates. It should work at launch.

@@VetriVade I agree but considering how broken some games are at realese, this is not too bad. GTA Definitive Edition for example which is also based on very old games had an ever worse launch and even to this day it's still not completely fixed. I have a feeling that this game might not end up the same and they actually fix it.
Well couple of graphical glitches on some maps that need sorting for both single and multiplayer and the BFII campaign isn't triggering the end of mission cutscenes.
When I played Felucia for example everything seemed oversaturated and if you looked at the sun it looked like it was surrounded by a mist made up of text from the Matrix.
On BFI a lot of the maps seem to have what should be the background scenery textures superimposing themselves on the map itself like a weird fog of war its especially noticeable on the Kashyyk Docks map where if you're on one Dock and look at the other side without zooming in it looks like the other Dock is hiding behind the background scenery.
There's a bug where the spawn timer just gets stuck on 1 sec and you can do nothing to fix it,
Connection and hit reg is messed up and my games end in 2 minutes, tbh it feels miserable.
Im in a discord with the og players and half of them have already refunded it.
Having a blast as I knew I would I don't bother with online I'm not a huge fan of online games but it is a Shame thus game is not perfect for all Aspyr fix this please for the fans we have been burned by EA numerous times prove them wrong

I’m confused here. So they marketed it as a rerelease. Saying they were just bundling the games together and putting them on current consoles and adding dedicated servers. Said they weren’t changing anything. Yet everyone is crying because it’s a 20 year old game that looks and feels like it’s 20 years old. The developers literally told you what to expect and you’re crying about it.
I expected this issue tbh, which is why I waited to buy it until I saw the reviews. I’m now very happy I saved my money because it would’ve been a huge waste

Exactly, i was also saying to people that the games are not what they were thinking since i played last year 2005 version on PC plus according to videos and the rumours of stolen outdated mods though Aspyr wouldn't put too much effort into the game, that Assaj Ventress looks ridiculous, what is that lasesaber grabbed with the armpit?

It's slow clunky compared to current modern games and the online matches last 3 minutes. As clunky I mean the players move so slow I'm use to sprint. 😅

On pc, controller support is terrible, the sensitivity is so low, even when set to max (10), you can't even turn around quickly enough. It's unplayable on the controller, even though it has an official Aspyr layout on Steam.
I'm on Xbox the game is unplayable multiplayer wise can't get a game most of the time and lag so bad in a game it's unplayable don't give them your money Dragon Dogma 2 comes out in a week get that

The game doesn’t handle like the old ones. Trying to turn the camera feels like it’s being drug through mud.
There’s no party system so you can’t party up to search for a match with your friends. And the servers just don’t work.
If you’re lucky enough to get into a server, the lag and input lag make it practically unplayable.
It’s genuinely embarrassing they can’t get a 20 year old game to properly work on the consoles and PCs we have now.
Looks like a cheap port to me with no love or care given. Im sure glad I didnt pre order, I doubt ill even grab it on sale because lack of cross play garuntees online will be dead within months. At least on consoles.
