There is no such thing as "perfectly safe" place. Philippines also have it's ups and downs, that also applies to safety. Of course, there are bad people out there but just learn to ignore them, just don't argue, move on and choose the right people to surround yourself with. Don't be shy or scared to ask for help because Filipino's are very helpful. Just make sure to be kind and friendly, and use thank you all the time. You'll get used to it anyway and you'll learn how to avoid the dangers as the time goes by. Philippines is a beautiful and happy country, i wish all of you a happy stay❤️

I lived in the Philippines for 4 months in 2019. Went for 2 weeks in 2017. I never felt like I was in any danger, the food was great, everything is affordable. I hear it's not safe to visit the southern islands, so I didn't go there. I didn't want to leave and plan to go back in 2024. I would give a 9/10. I want to move there permanently one day, I've started buying dividend paying stocks and ETFs to give me an income to live off of.
