Ivo - you are a gifted presenter (entertaining and informative)! I'm so happy to have stumbled onto your videos! Would you do a 'getting to know me' video/live stream?
Hello Ivo and happy Independence day coming right up. Great prep and cook. I have refrained from using lemon pepper as the first ingredient is usually salt I will be shopping for unsalted lemon pepper. Thanks for bringing that up. Keep the great videos coming. Tight lines and good fishin.
Yes sir it’s nice to cook delicious food , I’m from Long Island hampton Bays little town and it’s nice and we get fresh fish and stuff it’s nice . Hope all is well- al
...should taste just as good :) In fact, stay tuned as next week, we will be airing a cooking episode, sharing one of our fantastic recipes for striper :)
Great channel i subscribed. I'll be getting my first saltwater license very soon and i'm looking to catch some stripers off of capecod and maybe some other areas in MA that i have in mind. I think i'm going to cook them with this method it looks delicious but maybe a nice wood fire grill. This may be a dumb question but i'm new to saltwater fishing but can you catch stripers all year round in MA? Or is there a certain time of the year that is best for catching them?
The Stripers start to show up on April - usually the smaller schoolies, then by mid-May, the larger ones start to arrive :) Usually, it is a 1 fish limit, 28 inch min. but regulations change often, so be sure you are up to date with the rules and regs :) We have some Striper videos on our youtube channel that you may enjoy and you are now the first to know - that we will be releasing new Top Water Lures that will be fantastic for Striper and other game fish, but most likely not till July or Aug. Slat water fishing is exciting - you are going to love it :)
I was going to say. We catch landlocked striper. And it doesnt taste that great. It taste like the lake. It isnt too bad when I bleed them and brine the fillets before cooking. That red meat is nasty though. I guess I can try and keep the fish colder on ice and rock salt? I heard that helps keep the fish fresher. I already have put them on ice, but haven't tried rock salt. But those striper steaks do look tasty.
...yes it is, once you remove the dark muscle meat :) ua-cam.com/video/ey3A_V3yO-I/v-deo.html PS> bleeding the fish also helps a lot - or at least, washing as much of the blood out of the filet
You could use it for fish stock, but remember, if the fish has any contaminants in it, they could be found in the dark meat and it will also taste super fishy :)
Could u please give me some examples of freshwater fish u can use for this recipe? It looks really good and i would like to try it. I live in MN so please give me some examples, thanks.
JD Outdoors. Honestly none of them have the same firm texture except maybe bass. I love walleye but not grilled like in video. I only will eat walleye, perch, and crappie deep fried. Catfish is pretty good grilled, blackened
...any firm fish will work....for example, crappie have a softer meat, so I would not use crappie, however, walleye has a firm meat, and would grill up perfectly :)
....we fish for stripers in the Cape Cod area and stay tuned because later this summer/early fall, we will be releasing a couple new Top Water Lures and they are amazing!!
...You can certainly add butter and herbs - will still come out great...I just tried to keep this recipe as basic as possible, but still produce a delicious meal :)
Currently warming up the grill as I type. Got the fish already prepped and ready to go on the grill; can’t wait to try it
That looks perfect!! I will follow your directions to the "T". cant wait.
WOW! Best video on cooking Stripped Bass ever, thank you so much for sharing.

if i catch a striper in the long island sound, does that still taste as good as landlocked and regular ocean striper?
...should taste just as good :) In fact, stay tuned as next week, we will be airing a cooking episode, sharing one of our fantastic recipes for striper :)
Good but can't beat fried fish ,hush puppies and Cole slaw . Southern style

Does ocean striper taste better than landlocked striper?
yes....ocean striper taste better :)

What temperature should the grill be at before u put it on?
I like to get it up to 500 deg F 👍👍
What does it taste like
Not worried about cross contamination at all today are we
i know. fish hand to olive oil can.
Flame setting ? Over flame ?
setting on high :)
@@thundermistlures thnx
In your opinion, what is the best tasting freshwater fish?
tough questions, but I would have to lean towards walleye :) However, there are other very good ones as well
I could be wrong, but I would argue that isn't "dark muscle meat", but rather a part of the arterio-venous system
My favorite vid for grilling strippers
what temperature is grill at?
500 deg. F
@@CookingwiththeCoias Thank you
You sure look like a healthy human being eating all that fish you catch.
to what temp was the grill preheated???
500 degrees
I want a bite!
Hope you give this recipe a try someday :)
GALIC GALIC GALIC !!!
is stripper a mild tasting fish ?
...yes it is, once you remove the dark muscle meat :) ua-cam.com/video/ey3A_V3yO-I/v-deo.html PS> bleeding the fish also helps a lot - or at least, washing as much of the blood out of the filet
Thanks for the response i really enjoy your content. keep up the great work !!!
Is there anything you could do with the dark meat? Like stock or soup or something?
You could use it for fish stock, but remember, if the fish has any contaminants in it, they could be found in the dark meat and it will also taste super fishy :)
We leave it on, I enjoy the fish taste
That spatula looks like a fishing rod handle
LOL - it was a gift :)
Dude has an espresso machine.
Have you tried to cook small mouth bass this way?
...you can certainly cook smallmouth bass this way - or any firm fish :)
i enjoy your video ivo..thank sir....catfish 58
Glad you enjoyed this recipe and episode John - all the best and good fishing :)
thanks ivo...and i hope you do another catfish video useding chicken liver...catish 58
stay tuned John, as we will try to do another catfish episode using liver :)
thanks ivo...iv alway enjoyed your videos....and never stop learning new things....god bless catfish 58
OK , European seabass or Striped Bass ??? what you choose ?
I accidentally catch these while I'm trying to crappie fish. Guess I'll keep a few next time.
You will love them :)
“Dark muscle meat”. Where’d you get that chef jacket….Chucky Cheese? It’s called “bloodline”. A line cook Red Lobster knows that.
Always spray the oil spray on the grill BEFORE you start the fire. It is highly flammable as shown n the video
Not true, always "hot pan, cold oil, food won't stick"
Use a paper towel or rag to oil it with tongs
Mmmmmm!!! 🐟😀
Hope you are able to give this recipe a try someday - comes out great everytime :)
Could u please give me some examples of freshwater fish u can use for this recipe? It looks really good and i would like to try it. I live in MN so please give me some examples, thanks.
white bass? I doubt you have hybrids(wipers) in Minnesota
lukkyluciano No will any of these work: bass, northern, crappie, sunfish, catfish, walleye?
JD Outdoors. Honestly none of them have the same firm texture except maybe bass. I love walleye but not grilled like in video. I only will eat walleye, perch, and crappie deep fried. Catfish is pretty good grilled, blackened
LMB is really good with that recipe.
...any firm fish will work....for example, crappie have a softer meat, so I would not use crappie, however, walleye has a firm meat, and would grill up perfectly :)
So you cant grill this type of fish whole because you cant get to that darker meat? It will be too fishy?
Surely I can leave the skin of the fish on it?
You can certainly leave the skin on, and if you do, just remember the dark meat will be under it :)
You guys chase strippers up there?
....we fish for stripers in the Cape Cod area and stay tuned because later this summer/early fall, we will be releasing a couple new Top Water Lures and they are amazing!!
Why no butter and herbs?
...You can certainly add butter and herbs - will still come out great...I just tried to keep this recipe as basic as possible, but still produce a delicious meal :)
The dark meat is the best part
It's called the bloodline. very nasty!
