Your video is from Two years ago. I am going to grill some red snapper this coming week and I am so glad I found you recipe. We are cooking our selves in Texas in 2023. Thank you and many blessings.
Great video, thank you! We are enjoying this dinner today for Christmas on the grill. We have a HUGE red snapper and look forward to a tasty, wholesome change from turkey and ham. By the way, your music is FIRE! Exceptional. Thank you so much and lots of love and God bless the Robinson family. All the best for the holiday season and we wish you a happy new year in 2025. Thanks again!!!
I often grill red snappers up here in Toronto. But also struggle with the skin sticking to the grates. I use those fish grills that work sometimes, and sometimes, not so much. But this bed of onions is a great idea. I am going to try it the next time I grill these awesome, flavorful fish. Thanks for posting this video.
this takes me back to when my dad brought home a wild caught red snapper and threw it on the barbie.. no seasoning just fish and charcoal. Its been like 30 years but still remember what it taste like
What I was hoping to find here was a demonstration of how to actually gut and gill the fish. Unfortunately, it was already done before filming started. But, I love whole fish like this, so thanks!
The commentary is perfect!!!!!!!!!! Both of y’all’s voices are soo soothing and the food looked GREAT!!!!! I’m a fan, Subscribed immediately!!!!!!!!!! Now I’m part of the family lol 🙌🏾
Dumb question, how do you serve it once it's cooked? Do you just claw out all the meat? I've never cooked a whole fish, been scared to for reasons like that so I've always just bought filets. Would like to try something new like this.
For this cook, we pulled the meat with a fork to make fish tacos. However, you can serve the entire fish and simply have each individual pull the meat off the bones themselves (family style). That is how it was served on my Mexico vacation. Keep us posted on how it turns out. Thanks for watching.
Love the video. The onion idea was pretty cool. Have you ever tried one of those fish grilling baskets / wire mesh thingy that you lay right on the grill?
Hey I just joined you guys channel and I l love it! Your kiddos are adorable! Hey the onion under the snapper was an awesome idea but I found this at an Aldi supermarket and I’m sure Amazon may have it.. it’s for the grill and I mean it keeps everything from sticking and it cooks soooo well. I made snapper on it last night… I can’t send a pic like I thought I could 🤦🏽♀️ but if I see your email or anything I’ll send it to you guys! Keep cooking I love your channel!!
Hey there! Thanks for your kind words. Glad to hear that your snapper turned out good. We’d love to see a picture! You can send it to shalynn@cookingwiththerobinsons.com or tag us on IG (@cookingwiththerobinsons). Best to you!
Can I request a recipe? I love watching you guys and have been making your recipes... it would be awesome to see your take on a hearty Irish or beef stew ❤
I wish I could give you an easy answer other than 145 degrees but I think temperature is the best way to go. That or just the flakiness of the fish. That will give you the best result. If you cut the fish like I did you’ll be able to see when it is cooked through. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Oh yea you know whats up with the tortillas nice looking fish that red snapper. If you like this you will like “pescado ala talla” they cook it with a grilling basket, the fish cut in half and smeared with some sauce.
That’s a huge red onions😊😅😮 where did you buy it and that red snapper is looking tasty. Why she laugh so much😊😅😮 I like it with fried rice and some plain taon banana for dessert 😊😅😮
We got the onion and the fish at Central Market. Fried rice would be great with it for sure. I guess my wife thinks I’m hilarious. Thanks for watching.
It’s super easy, I like to use a fork and slowly pull the meat away from the bones. I want to do a grilled trout video soon. I’ll have to remember to show how we remove the meat. Thanks for watching!
I’ll preface this by saying this looks delicious and I’m copying this for my contribution to thanksgiving dinner this year. However, as a writer - and former lawyer - I have to ask how the olive oil can serve both as a ‘binding agent’ for the spices, and a lubricant to prevent the fish from ‘sticking to the grill.’ Is olive oil a binding agent or loosening agent?!? - 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks Big Mitch, I’m still a big fan of salt pepper and garlic but we have started a seasoning business since this video came out. You can check them out at cookingwiththerobinsons.com
Love your channel !! Cooking this Tomrorow !! Can’t wait !!
Thanks for watching. Hope it’s a great cook!

Banana leaves are edible to wrap fish and grill
Goals: my 2nd wife has GOT to have Mrs. Robinson's type of attitude. Always applauding her husband 👌🏾

Thanks Hess, we have used one before but the one I have is too small for that size fish. Thanks for watching!
That's a small one... we grille red snapper almost every weekend on the island... 4 x the size of this one...
Nice Video...
That’s awesome, what island are you from? We don’t get any that big up here in north Texas. Sounds like the kind of feast we would love!

What is the name of that restaurant you had such a great experience at? We go to Cozumel every year and are curious.
As best I can recall, I think it was called Albertos Beach Restaurant. We rented a jeep for the day and found it along our drive. Thanks for watching.
Good
Thanks Abibatu!

Heat?
Between 350 and 400 degrees.
How much time total?

If you just slice off one end of the 🍋 and lime and keep slicing the other end is going to get cut off and you won't need to cut off both ends first.

Before you put the fish down I could tell those coals were way too hot for that fish..
Perhaps, but we were super happy with the results.

Yes, we greased the grill. We were just making double sure that it wouldn’t stick. Thanks for watching.
Sliced lemon and oranges work better
Gotta try that next time.

Ha! Good question
Coals too hot..flip when water has evaporated from skin meaning it's no longer sticking
That’s not grilled, that’s barbecue.
Alright, have a good one. LOL
If something is not on the grill or smoker for more than 2 hours it's not BBQ. This was grilled.
