- This is a video about how and why I created the 4' x 2' N gauge layout.
It is now currently residing in my garage while I attempt to build an OO gauge layout in the same garage.
I hope you enjoy this video and sometime in the future I will be returning to this N gauge layout with plans to improve it, now that I have learned about the do's and don'ts on curve radius's :0) Cheers Mark....

I am a dad too, i am building a small layout in N gauge to in the same measure of yours. With a diference, i start 27 years ago a big H0 layout. But life wanted tha i have a divorce and the layout came to an end. It was made to my son and...Now I Will build it in N for myself. Congratlulations for you your Dad and the soundtrack :)

20 years after my dad passed away, I started model trains myself and wish I had kept at the very least one wagon from his layout :(

Is this really 4ft by 2ft.ive got a 4ft by 2ft in my dining room but it appears much bigger than mine.im really sorry about your dad, it's a cruel disease .I hope he and your family are coping OK.my gran had it,and it proved very difficult but we all loved her and chipped in to help.

What radius curves are they?
Hi Justin, sorry for the late response. I made the curves by eye, didn't use anything to set them at the right radius, just needed to get them to fit. Trains run ok but something like a 9F struggles and sometimes derails.

MDF...heavy...buckles when exposed to water..blunts cutting blades fast.
