Wow, very nice. I realize I am finding this video five years after it was uploaded, but this is the best thing I've seen on the Internet all year. Very clever and well executed. Would love to know the make and model on the folding table that was used.
It seems like it is one of those folding/potable table with the legs take out and a small hole drill at the side for electrical supply. But a good idea will try finding the table. Thanks for the brilliant idea.
Thank you for all the comments, please appreciate the video was uploaded 4 years ago and the layout has been finished with platforms, station, and engine shed along with grass and trees etc for a while now. I built it for my granchildren to play with rather than play with an x box or ipad or my other layouts:)
I found a table online. A camping store lets you inspect it before you buy it. I am guessing the layout, on the inside, is actually recessed a bit so there is room for the tracks when closed. It appears he has a power source he plugs in that runs the 4 individual cabs. Again, I am guessing each individual cab is wired to each half of the layout. Brilliant job Daniel. I hope I came close in my guess. That’s how I would approach my own version!!! I have grandchildren that are train enthusiast as well! O.M.G! That is so cool!🤩 A portable train set!🚂 Of course, a traveling case packed with a few buildings🏘 & other goodies 🚗🌳would be the icing on the cake!🎂 Take care luv! Happy railroading!🛤👍
Beautiful Setup Daniel. Would you be so kind as to offer some tips for this setup, such as the table size and how you seamlessly handled the track joints when the table folded and unfolded? Would be very much appreciated. Thanks
Daniel, I go along with dpb018. If you decide to go into production, I'll order the second unit after him/her. In the meantime, could you do another video showing how you built this, what materials were used, etc? Are there any plans or diagrams available?
Looks good but it be much better looking if it had some Scenic on it,,, like magnetic trees you could stick on, take off as with houses, vehicles etc,, then it be stunning 👍
How does the case fold without damage too track? Magnificent ideas+++. Thanks had n scale for 50+ years love them but not a great foldable table case. That's really great. Jim
Great idea! Seems DC, isn't it? But would be cooler if it moved at lower speeds, specially the 3rd one since its on yard/station tracks. Sorry when a kid I used to speed them around like you. 🤔 It's more of a toy... Later on I came to appreciate lower speeds and see the springs of the axels of locos & cars moving up & down as the train passed over switches. 🤗 And shunting at slow motion. Great job you've done!! I notice many nice comments. Cheers Richard

Amazing layout. How did you keep the track joined at the joint of the table? It didn't look as tho you had to do anything when you unfolded the table. Mike
Hello from France, sorry for my langage, very nice and amazing, I t's home made or you buy it. Have you the measure of the layout. Best regards. Thank you

very nice idea, Daniel! Now you need some pop up scenery that can flatten out.
I think that's what I need. I have a ton of Kato unitrack but hate the right radiuses.
Brilliant set up and very portable
Did you make this or can you buy them pre-made? Looks awesome.
Well done! How did you work out how the 2 halves of the layout connect electrically and physically at the hinge when the case is opened?
My dad was just talking about doing something like this. This is sick!
Find an Origami friend to fold you some folding pop out buildings and scenery. Nice job.
Where can i buy this Case, thats a very good Idee.

Thankfully I found this table. Very hard to locate, they have delayed making more.
Where please? :D
Why wont anybody say where this table is from?...
Tad Heath ‘couse they are fucking jealous of their construction
Wow! thats a very smart idea, good job...thanks for sharing
Great system. But it looks better when the trains run more slowly 😉
You need a plastic rerailer to put them on the track. Very nice, very cool!!
Because N gauge is so small it’s hard to see the wheels to put them on the rails by hand.
Lovely layout.
Daniel how did you manage to fold the track with causing damage to them?
Awe man this is soooooooo dope the kids took my basement and I really want to run trains every so often
My layout for HO, is 9,50x2,50. I have 147 locom + near 700 wags. Since 1960 up todayssss

Where can you purchase folding case?
Great job! Well done!
Dan, "I will be playing with this setup for months!"
Wife, "Honey, the kids are coming over for dinner and I need the table cleared off."
Dan, "Crap."
That is just to slick of a set up. Just needs some inflatable mountains and you are set
Wow. Just brilliant
HI Daniel Love your set up and would like to know did you buy the case or make it yourself.. thanks
Very cool. Is that just an upside down portable table? Great idea.
That is too cool!
How does the track meet at the bend in the folding table? And how is the track secured to the table?

What brand and size folding table is that? It looks much larger than what I can find.
It looks a lot like a folding aluminium picnic table with the legs removed !
Very interesting ! 👍😉
Aww, u mean theses aren’t for sale?
Where can I buy One? How much ?
How much did this cost and how do the rails close flat in a case?
It's scratch built Matthew, the rails don't move they just meet in the middle when it opens out.
