- I Installed A WIRELESS Backup Camera On My Truck!
As I show you the installation of this wireless backup camera on my Ram 3500, I find out the you still have to wire a "wireless" backup camera. Who would have thought???
Cool stuff we use around the farm, plus buy anything on Amazon and help out the channel and no extra cost to you: www.amazon.com...
The red colored connector you rejected works fine! Wrap it with good quality electrical or marine tape. It's quick, easy & water tight.
Nice addition. I didn't even think about the back up camera when I bought my new truck but, oh my gosh, it's awesome for hooking up trailers! I also found out I like the Bluetooth in the truck too. Old dog, new tricks etc.
Well your ahead of me because I dont use bluetooth lol
Always best to have a switch 👍
I put a PEAk camera on our big baler probably 8 years ago???
It works great!! I'm sure there are much better ones now..
I didn't run a wire to it, inside, I hooked into the field lights..
Not the best, but it works...
And way less expensive than the agricultural equipment cameras!
Although, for what I'm using it for, I'd probably go with the Ag cameras next time, just because I could put more cameras with one monitor.
Good video Chris!!!
Thanks Ed! For what I paid for this camera, it would be cheaper to buy a bunch of these to get different views than 1 expensive one LOL
@@dehavenfamilyfarm ya.. I've thought about that too.. but only so much room in the Tractor for monitors.. already have 3 for the baler.. LOL
I think the peak camera was $94 at NAPA at the time, I'm sure they are half that now...
I wouldn’t know how to act if I didn’t have to get out a million times backing up to a trailer. Lol. Nice install. I’ve never had my phone do that. Have a good week
If you put a backup camera on your truck, you would wonder why you hadn't done it sooner! lol It sure saves a lot of aggravation.
Thanks for the info. I have given some thought into one of these camera's to put on the back of my older truck and on the back of some of the bigger hopper wagons to see the traffic that is coming up behind.
After having one in my other truck, it was hard not to have one in this truck. I guess I am spoiled lol
Enjoyed the camera install tips. Was the camera pricey? I thought of hooking a camera up on my older truck but I've been manually doing it so long I haven't moved forward to do it. Thanks, I enjoyed a full watch.
I don't remember exactly what I paid, but I think it was around $80- which is why I was so surprised that it was built so well lol Thanks for watching!!!
Yep wireless is a loose term I guess. It was the same for me when picking out a camera system for the combine. Wireless ones still needed that power wire. So I went with a wired camera. That will be handy for sure. My phone does that too sometimes. But usually it's when I'm pointing through a dirty window.
I really don't think they should advertise them as "wireless" LOL Thanks for watching!!
Nice adaptation with the back up camera. I returned the favor & subscribed to you too. Stay safe.
Thank you, and welcome to the family!!
@@dehavenfamilyfarm It's an honor to be part of your family. 😁
Not a bad add on, the gfs car has a backup camera abd it's so handy.
*Those cameras are great I need one I hate getting out a bunch. Ball hitches are even worse* #WorldsOkayestFarmer
A backup camera in your dump trucks would be handy on your deliveries!
@@dehavenfamilyfarm For sure
The poor camera can't figure out what to auto focus on :(. If you point 45 degree down you see hitch, but not load...
I think I will be able to adjust the camera so that I can see to hook up the trailer, and see the load on the front of the trailer. You are correct- the camera isn't high enough to see to the back of the trailer, but I will take what I can get LOL
